  1. Anyone successfully setting up and using traxeditor? (www.traxeditor.com) I can’t get registered (no email arrives). I’m just looking for something web based, given nothing I can find for an iPad actually works!
  2. I’ve recently purchased this seemingly excellent model, and a sound chip, speaker, etc. The only documentation in the box is a warranty leaflet and a dc/dcc set of instructions for operation. There is no detail on fitting the chip, speaker or indeed more basic things like lubrication, removing the body shell to fit a crew etc etc. can anyone assist please?
  3. Is there any news on an instruction sheet? eg. Body removal, diagrams on dcc fitting, lubrication, lights, etc etc.
  4. Hi any chance you could reload the images please? I’m a novice at this! But happy to have a go.
  5. Gd afternoon all This spare time has given me enough scope to plan my next venture: a condensed version of the Kidsgrove/Harecastle area pre WWII. Any relevant photographs of the area would be welcome, as would any thoughts on planning. I’ve got 44’ x 30’ with more space available if needed, in the loft. ive got OS mapsand loads of photos I’ve grabbed online, but thoughts of those who have knowledge of the area would be welcome. I’ll post a draft track plan soon. thank you all in advance.
  6. Here’s a possibility if it has to be removable: if the FY was a traverser, and aligned on drawer runners, then it could be lifted off the runners for storage into a crate with stock in position, and the runners folded down to avoid damage. That would greatly decrease set up time, have stock available for servicing etc. separately and new formations could be set up prior to a running session.
  7. Thanks for all the replies. Regarding the checking of levels of point frogs, if they are found to be proud, what methods are recommended for levelling, a) in situ (ie laid and fixed) or b) free reign? For b) I would file off, well away from anything that wouldn’t like the dust, and finish with 320 grit up to 1000 to tidy up. However in situ, the dust issue seems tricky if filing. Is shaving possible? A Dremel style tool would spread the mess everywhere. If they aren’t proud, but sunk, can they be successfully raised, or does the whole thing need to be junked? I’m struggling to think of how to raise them without bending the whole unit in the vertical plane, which would surely cause running issues by crowning the running rails.
  8. Hi all, My first query on here. I’m just starting a new layout, my first in dcc, I have a controller and lots of chipped motive power. Reading up on fitting dcc, my query is simple. Will stay alive if fitted, be enough to ensure the loco drives across insulfrog points?
