Great modelling Merry Christmas.

Andrew with the gardeners cottage, are you working from the Britain from Above photo July 1930?
Just my opinion you may know more than my above reference. I see two stories and the rail side porch only half as high as the eves and about a third of the width of the building.
Sorry if this is out of turn.

“ I'm really interested in the cottage that lay on the north side between the stone loading shed and the goods shed. I've very few photos of that to go on”.
Andrew it was knocked down before I got to play around there.
What I do know is that the cottage was brick and we built a den in the left overs of it. Also our fire place at Maymead, Lower North Street was made from those bricks that dad rehomed!
I”ll see what photos I have.

Blummin brilliant modelling there Andrew captures it very very well, even the apple trees it’s just as I remember it. Particularly photos 3,6,7,8,9 and 14,15 and 16 obviously for me post Beeching without the rails and loco..
Fiveways Farm was Mr. Parsons who owned it always had an old red Fergy tractor to run about on in the 1970s Had one with a cab and tarpaulins, there was a hay cart in the orchard for years blue and red painted it was stood there until it rotted away. Irrelevant I know but your model evokes memories.

Hi Andrew this layout is going to be great the whole thing was my playground as a kid 1970 to 1978 I guess. We lived in Station Road. I knew every inch of it.
I have photos somewhere of the track lifting.
One thing the loading stage the west side of 5 cross bridge I don’t think butted up to the bridge. As we had a path down to track level, between the dock and the bridge. Can’t add a photo but Google Steet View confirms this.
Looking good though.

Nice work.

Just read the lot great project, will follow with interest. I grew up in Station Road and the whole of your layout area was our playground after the tracks were lifted late 60s and 70s remember it all vividly. Have a few photos around if your ever short of one not many mind! Had a couple of the demolishion of the under bridge Station Road but you have done that now.

Just found this blog Jamie, crazy amount of research and planning you have done.
Going to be a fab layout once you have saws at the ready and timber cutting list at the ready!
Anymore progress?
