  1. Had a welcome letter and Membership card arrive today. Letter gives details of when the magazine is published. Also that the collectors club loco will arrive in September but possibly sooner. To be honet i'm nmore bothered about the H class.
  2. I emailed Hornby regarding delivery of Membership Pack as I hadn't heard anything and this was the reply.... "Dear Mr Tindall Thank you for your email. We have received your application, please allow 28 days for your membership information to arrive. Kind Regards, Tanya Garrett" So another 2 weeks to wait it would seem
  3. Yes 711 or 712 in LLB would be an excellent choice then this could be easily modelled......
  4. I think Bachmann have made an own goal. They have made 47/7's in ScR livery only in OO gauge and releasing the DBSO's later this year. (along with the OR MK3's) However they have in their Farish range a 47/7 in BR Blue but nothing to run with them! But yet they haven't thought about releaseing in blue in OO which i think would be very popular, given that they are releasing MK2F's in B&G and the DBSO. Thoughts??
  5. Got it sussed, I hadnt linked my account to the club. All done and pre-ordered
  6. I've joined up to the club but it wont let me order the H Class, even though i'm logged in as a member. When I hot the pre-order button it just says "you have to be a member". is it becuase they have to process the membership order?? Anyone else had this problem?
  7. Thanks for that, you've answered a question that's been had me wondering. Did the Mk3 sets stay in a semi-permanent state? (for arguements sake) 12015, 12017, 12019, 11907 and 9707? I'm guessing the DBSO's were swapped about regularly but the MK3's stayed as the were (with the occasional swap out for a repair etc?) Also how many FO's gained ScR livery before conversion to CO. The Ian Allan book that i have shows a FO on the 1986 cover but crucially the page with the numbers on is missing. The cover shows no set no. on DBSO) but on the 1987 its there's a CO and the DBSO has 607 on the front. Anyone help?
  8. Now that I've tried that, it is an optical illusion!! Funny tricks your eyes can play on you.
  9. Just to add fuel to the fire on shades of grey, how about this.. IC Swallow with ScR liveried Mk3's in the late days of push-pull. They grey is definatly a different shade. candidate for modelling with the ScR Mk3's to come and the DBSO?
  10. Hattons have this pic of the DBSO Pre production liveried sample in ScR livery.
  11. My model of 712 as renumbered from 710. Personal fave of mine and cant wait for oxford rail MK3's and the DBSO.
  12. According to the website the 1st batch have arrived. A TSO and FO in IC Swallow livery.
  13. J36, Pecketts, Duchess, LN and Maunsell diner gets my vote. However I'm a bit disappointed that they haven't had a re-run of the SECR liveried H Class but done 2 more BR variations. Think they missed a trick there.
  14. The plain blue version. Would go well with 4/5 MK2a's and DBSO. Something like in the pic
  15. this was taken from a post regarding E&G push pull sets. the full story can be read here: https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/47-7-push-pulls.129282/ 12 Mk 2d TSO (all in ScotRail livery) 5 Mk 2z TSO (ex-Edinburgh to Glasgow, all in ScotRail livery) 7 Mk 2d TSO(T) (6 in ScotRail livery, 1 remained in blue/grey for its entire existence on the push-pulls) 4 Mk 2e FO (all in ScotRail livery) 1 Mk 2f FO (in ScotRail livery) 2 Mk 2a FK (both in blue/grey) Personally I think Bachmann will release a 47/7 in blue with silver roof. They already do 47701 in the Farish range with flush front.

What's the point of having a loco if you're not going to run it? Admittedly iI do have other locos that I have not run but I fully intend to get round to give them a run. I had to test run run it anyway to see if it worked given the topic of the thread!!!!

    New Hornby 14xx

Thanks. Yes I'll leave them on I think. I read the thread on the standard release and was a bit shocked. Glad it not affected this batch (touch wood).

    New Hornby 14xx

I've run mine but not done any videos.
  23. I did a wander round at 1st to see what retailers had and spied a few 14xx's. However i was stood at Rails stand and 1 of the staff there said they were all sold out on pre-orders. So I carried on a bit more and spied 1 at Marks Models of Dublin. So duly mentally noted I carried on and then overheard a guy saying "Rails of Sheffield have sold out of the ltd ed 14xx so I'll try Hereford Model Centre". I quickly turned round and went back to Marks Models and snapped up what was their only 1 of 1450. I looked at other main traders and none of them had any of them for sale. It wasn't till much later when I was about to leave did I spy 2 more of them in a cabinet on the corner of a stand. (don't recall which 1). so I think i did quite well. You mustv'e been lucky in someone telling you about it.

    New Hornby 14xx

Hi there. I'm a newbie here. Decided to become a member having read this post (and others), I managed to get a Warley 50th ltd ed 1450 at the weekend. After overhearing a guy saying that he couldn't find 1 as Rails had sold out, I quickly dashed back to Marks Models of Dublin and bagged their only 1. I put up post on Facebook and someone commented about the 14xx and I didn't really know what was being said about it as it was a vague comment. After reading this thread I can see why. However after giving it a run in with 20 mins each way, mine seems to run fine (if a tad noisy). It was a but jerky to start with but once it got going but soon settled down. I am undecided as to whether i take off the traction tyres or not. If I did would it devalue its ltd ed status?? It hasn't had a loaded test run but then it wouldn't be pulling much anyway, say maybe an autocoach, couple of vans or a short passenger train.
