will we see 3 car sets in the future, they dont seem to want to produce them?
-
Forgive me, im not familiar with the 56 story, couple of questions. Why was there no production slots at brush? were they building locos for foreign contracts? How long from the oil crisis, to ordering, to delivery was the 56's? Did English electric not bid for the contract for a new type 5? As has been pointed out it will be political policys way outside of Brush and BR that allowed or suggested parts were built in Romania, was there fall out from unions from BR ordering outside of UK workshops?

A quick look at the "sale" with lots of "bargains" on the Hattons website i would say actual bargains are few and far between compared to ebay -

RevolutioN Trains Announce Cartic-4 Car Carriers in OO Gauge
e30ftw replied to sc2016's topic in Revolution Trains
Sorry if this has already been asked, but how long will each set of four be? -
Is the Mersey Rail 142 sold out or are you not taking pre-orders for them yet?
-
Does anybody have any updates on this project? I can not imagine this will not have a price hike.
-
Not sure if this has been posted
-
I dont know for sure but could this be Signal box construction gang? Crewe in its early days LNWR had the ability to manufacture rail, when this ceased the S+T could have taken over the part of the works for the storage of gear and equipment.

Just got round to reading the Hornby mag artical after following this thread for a while. Excellent stuff . 🖕

yep filter by release date, seems to be there yet to be announced models? Railroad "plus" 40 and 37 Get your pre orders in for the 121 bubble car in coke livery......😐
-
just need the sncf version now, dosnt look good if they are floging the unsold Belgium ones though.

Thanks for all the reply s. My argument would be the Crosti 9f looked a very nice model. Too nice for the railroad badge? Then compare that to a lima 59 with a new motor, or and old tool 31. The A1/A3 look perfectly fine because they update the big pacific s regularly. It shows where they priorities R&D Bachmann have pretty good steam locos but dont seem to target it like Hornby does. Im not saying steam will disappear obviously not but i guess without the figures for sales we will never know.

Not a new or unique opinion, its probably already been mentioned Is Hornby at a turning point, or approaching it. They can continue to invest in OO gauge steam locos as these will sell to the "grey pound" as well as to collectors who never take them out the box however, the people who remember main line steam are dwindling. What % of people who model do so because they remember the prototype? What % of people have a steam layout that have never seen BR steam ? They can continue to do Dublo throw backs and limited editions for so long but they have to look at the future. To support this theory they don't seem to do many rail road steam locos, its normally the full fat detailed versions they sell, or if they call it rail road they seem to be a better quality model than the D&E limby counterparts. Cheep re liveries can help get some of the market but are they giving up competing directly with Bachmann Accurascale, Cavlex? The class 87 was a surprise a nice one at that ,but it had no competition. same with APT. Instead of competing with Bachmann and Accurascale they are going a different path with TT and corner the market if it takes off. Still sell steamers and limited editions in oo and TT but try to get ahead and produce a diverse range as they can and be one of the only players in town in TT, as well as being the sole distributor for a lot of the locos and stock. Thus when people slowly stop buying OO steam in the numbers they currently are they are in a better position. Purely from a D&E point of view of course.

8F makes sense, which is why Hornby probably wont do it for a while. Re_liveries of small steam and diesel industrial shunters new livery's of the (new) HST A Flying Scotsman Dublo KING or other large kettle has been mentioned. King Charles Kings Royal purple 67 or a black limited edition royal 67. Some pre grouping stock new tools Nothing new tool wise for D+E modelers, or if they do it would be something silly like a 37/47

Yes in short they say it lives up to the hype -
Class 50, By Accurascale

Very true, i forgot about that one, i wonder which one is the most niche with the lowest sales potential? Would it be prudent for AS to do a poll to see which would be the most popular, for the subject of a limited edition. Im sure they have enough on their plate with the more popular liveries to be developed, to be worried about such things at the moment. Plus they need to develop the class 40 every one wants to see them tackle rather than KR.😜 -

Never say never, if there is a market for a profitable limited edition green ,maroon, intercity or loadhaul 50, why wouldn't they? -

Sounds like a transit van mixed with a washing machine Hopefully they cap off the run of English electrics with a 40 next year. Great news about the 50s though, plenty of liveries to choose over quite a wide time period.
