It's only a mock-up. The real table will be cantilevered off the vehicle side as it makes cleaning so much easier.
Will it? Somebody ought to tell hitachi...
I think I know which seat this is and I think it's the angle of the photo.
-
Yup. I'm off up later in the week to service them.

Could you do it from an etched profile and build the body up from solder?
-
The rear pan is an emergency set up.
Automatically the lead pan is used. When units couple the pans will reset to use the out ends to reduce the wire disruption.
-
Looking very good indeed. It's nice to still see progress.
-
Do the mods you've mentioned bring the IEP ordered 800's up to the same spec. as the TOC ordered 802's ?
.
Not quite - there will still be differences. The west of England fleet will have more brake resistors for example so it can dynamic brake away from the overhead.
-
I wonder who is paying for these mods and alterations to the original spec.
If it is DafT then the costs should be made public.
I quite honestly don't know, some of the modifications are post testing, others are to make them more suited to a longer period running on diesel (larger adblue tanks, derestricting power packs, larger fuel tank)
-
Nope, I definitely mean fuel tank. I flipping fitted them!
The tanks as designed finished some distance behind the skirt. They now follow the outer profile and add roughly 20% extra fuel capacity.
-
The Hornby rep did make it clear that they are in regular contact with Hitachi to ensure Hornby get all the details and alterations correct on the model.
I'm only picky because I maintain them. The rest of the model seems pretty good at first glance.

That is rather nice, however, the mode will only represent 800004 up to last week when the new style fuel tanks were fitted which now extend out inline with the skirts.

I told you no good would come of an Old banger...
At least ooo is 1:152...
-
Bargain - thanks for pointing that out Chris.
...just need the skill to build a chassis next!
-
Very cute - especially next to a bruiser like a 5600

Hi,
I'm putting together a representation of an oil terminal, (or at least, small section of it) from a Kibri kit.
The kit comes with signs in German naturally, however I wish to Anglicise it with company logo's more familiar to the UK, more specifically Scotland.
Does anyone know if anyone produces signage for UK oil terminals?
I've looked in the usual places like scalescenes, but have drawn a blank.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Pepsi
PS, I may have posted this on the wrong board as I need the signs to be in 4mm.
Hope people don't mind.
You would be better off asking in the structures or in the questions, help and tips section

Mike, with due respect, that its all you needed to say.
.
I have the pleasure of maintaining them. I have walked down all five sets.
There is no obvious up/down through the vehicles apart from the gangway area as you leave the outer motor coaches towards the DPT.
-
I thought all intermediate coaches had the raised floor whether they had engines fitted or not, only the end (driving) coaches had the low floor!
This is what I have been told as I havent seen inside them.
Correct. I can only stand in the DPT cars.
-
Nope, those with engines fitted have higher floors than the vehicles without engines
Jo
Both end cars have air and transformer packs taking up all the space.
The inside bogie cars in the 9 cars are empty underneath. There's always a way.
-
Pan cameras are handy for warranty and damage claims too. Bracknell Willis are big fans and use footage to analyse pan behaviour.

Under our previous DM, we had plans for a PZ depot emblem, a pasty being one. i did a whole folder full of ideas along with sleeper car names but due to staff changes, was put on back burner. gas now turned off..... .
How are you getting on with Patrick?
-
800 101 has just gone through Northallerton on diesel power (tested on electric last night) and despite a clear road through to York, its' speed was well below the normal HST level on the same stretch. Slow enough that I noticed some coaches have inside bearing bogies as Voyagers and others outside bearings as Super Voyagers.
Mike Wiltshire
Two cars on a nine car only have inside bearing bogies.
I believe that t58 is on power speed testing.
-
The current sets can over power to compensate if one engine packs up.
It has to be remembered that these were "last leg" engines not primary movers and that the west of England fleet will be at the full engine power rather than the restricted iep rating.
-
Have you still got the report they sent on that Irish one?
I couldn't believe it was the same car!
-
Where can I find a list of the rolling stock you produce Chris? I'm relatively new to 2mm so I'm a little out of the loop.
-
Bryn even entered the agm competition...
Albeit six years after the stock was finished!

Pretty sure the buffet on a DPTF would hide a motor.
