  1. In the meantime I have been to the drs with my knee, it had swollen up overnight. Got some more painkillers and got to arrange an x ray next week.
  2. Morning all A bit of frost around this morning for the first time this season. I wonder if you struggle to get past the witch doctors receptionist? I am going to volunteer to test coffee and walnut cake samples but only small tests.
  3. A number of times when I was in the gents in pubs women came in to the toilets and climbed onto the sinks and relieved themselves
  4. As @jamie92208 will tell you Pontefract was always shall we say interesting on a Friday/Saturday night. As a former garrison town there are plenty of pubs. You used to be able to set your watch by the times certain people used to be in certain pubs. There were a few "Wild west" type brawls where a fight would start in a corner then the whole pub would end up brawling. It was always handy to know where the fire exits were. You could end up in bother if you just looked at someone.
  5. Just taken the dachshunds for a walk in the park I slipped on a tree root that was hidden by leaves. Left knee now agony
  6. @jjb1970 those are lovely models I do like the way Kato pack them. I do have to agree with @polybear that they look duck billed. Some look like they have come straight from a sci fi movie.
  7. I have experienced it sadly. When i had to finish work we were shunted from Tax credits which were easy to deal with to UC. No one you dealt with seemed to have a clue what they were doing. One person would tell you to do one thing, you would do it. The next person you spoke to after doing it would tell you that you shouldn't have done it and you needed to do this instead. It is a bizarre system to deal with to say the least. Like any company you get some that will go out of their way to help you. Others don't give a Donald Duck
  8. I bought 100 tea lights from Ikea for winter blackouts and a couple of lanterns to put them in. The transport office at Bison Leeds was a portacabin it had previously been inhabited by a chain smoker. They had to clean all the nicotine staining off the "wood" panelling it was gross. When i worked in Abingdon they were still smoking in the office. It was the only place I ever worked where you could smoke inside at the time
  9. I have a Volvo XC60 plenty of room in the back especially with seats down. I have to have an SUV due to arthritis in both knees. I did have a Renault Laguna Sports Tourer (estate). The roof angled back towards the tailgate reducing headroom. My brother has a Peugeot Bipper van he uses to go to work in and carries his fishing tackle about in
  10. Morning all Happy Anniversary to @jjb1970 and Mrs @jjb1970 you are 1 year in front of us It's not raining here for once but everything is sodden.
  11. One "newspaper " was claiming that Mad Vlad has 3 body doubles that they have spotted so far. Can't remember which paper it was just noticed them on rack in shop
  12. Having worked in transport we never had a finishing time it was when the job was done and the drivers knew what they were doing the next day. 12-14 hrs a day 5 days a week plus alternate Saturday morning. When i worked for the council I didn't do overtime I figured I had done enough long hours in the past I just wanted to spend time with the wife and boys
  13. Ukrainian farmers may have a couple for sale along with various armoured vehicles. One owner some damage perhaps
  14. Morning all Sun is shining no kamikaze pigeons so far. The so called conspiracy theorists who deny acts of terror occoured should be renamed Nut Jobs. That bloke who has been stalking victims should be locked in a padded cell. Not many ToT ers last night due to heavy rain. We leave a basket of sweets near the front door there were still some left but they had to be thrown away
  15. It just goes to show there isnt a perfect solution to energy supply/consumption. Or to increase food security at the same time. In other news I have been trying to get in bed for the last 20 minutes a certain larger of the 2 dachshunds wants his Rolo belly rubs. He even gently puts his mouth round your arm and moved it to the parts he wants rubbing
  16. Still wound up by that bl00dy pigeon. Feel like getting a kestrel to hunt the things down Starting to feel like Dick Dastardly "Catch that pigeon" Will have to get the dachshunds a scarf each for the Muttley medals
  17. Thanks for the offer @Happy Hippo could you put it through the table saw and make it N gauge please ?
  18. My car was attacked this morning by a suicide pigeon £150 for a new radiator grille £3 jetwashing its remains off the car Money I had been saving to start a layout
  19. Afternoon Having a sh1t day hit a pigeon on way home from school run damned thing has cracked the radiator grille. 1 centimetre left and it would have just hit the front. Had to go and jet wash entrails of the front of the car. Just ordered a replacement grille from Germany £150 gone. There is a little scratch on the paint that I have a touch up pen for. May even come out with T cut Pigeony barsteward
  20. Afternoon all Just got wet through in a deluge tgat occoured whilst at the tip. More re arranging stuff in the garage and sweeping the bluddy dust up. Whoever invented it ought to have the bu99er to sweep up themselves. We were going to spray some concrete sealer on today but on further reading of the destructions a second coat has to be sprayed on 24 hrs later. Looks like a job for next week. Now having a mug of decaff and trying to dry out. Beer priced when I started drinking at 16 was £1.34 for Whitbread Trophy or £1.39 for Boddingtons or after 18 I used to go to a Club Stones was £1.20 a pint. I can't remember the prices in the NUS bars the one on our campus was slightly cheaper than the bar at The Nelson Mandela Building opposite Sheffield Midland Station Oops nearly forgot Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs Brian
