A couple of Heljan 47 and a Bachmann 47 for comparison both look ok to me but what do I know 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

I will never profess to be an expert or do I worry whether my opinions count unlike a lot on here, I have just moved D1960 between a Heljan Hymek and a Dapol Western and TBH it looks OK. Whilst to the purist the shape isn’t right but it fits my era so I am content.

Solution is for a certain (Guinness based) company to take them over

I am wanting advise on controllers, I have a Dynamics Ultima however I believe it has limitations I.e. you cannot go above setting 20 and some of the latest locos go well above this and also only 30? Loco address’s can be stored. My question is what is the best budget upgrade? Is the NCE Power Cab starter an upgrade? Are there my other other alternatives ? TIA

I lived in Wingerworth just outside Chesterfield and used to cycle to the old site of Clay Cross station. Such a great variety of traction back in 1971. I used to get a rail rover pass so Donny/York/Newark one way Crewe the other way. My Grand parents lived in Pontypool so I used to go down for summer holidays and again a WR rail rover used to take me to Exeter and Reading etc. Whilst watching Newport County @ Somerton Park I heard and saw my first Western - love at first sound hooked to the WR ever since hence my model railway is called Somerton Park 👍 I still live in near the MML and often pass the old Clay X station bridge

TBH the TMC Ltd edition suits my needs so I am sure that I can live with any issues to get something I would like. I don’t count the rivets and like D15 it looks fine on the layout so that is one easily please person 🤦‍♂️🤣👍

Just check as most of the piccies I have seen of 5803 have the D scrubbed out when on the WR, but that hasn’t stopped me ordering it 🤣

Unless you look at the AS range and SLW, we are catered for with Deltic, Class 31, Class 37 all AS and Class 25 from SLW it just seems Bachmann don’t like this variant. If like me and I am sure there are plenty of others that do model the late Green/Blue pre TOPS that really would buy if the right models were available from Bachmann

Just a little surprised by the gap from Green no yellow front to TOPS Blue, although Bachmann avoid Blue Pre TOPs as if it infected with some deadly poison - so not something for everyone as quoted. Hopefully we may see some of these soon

You need to look at Maersks accounts, they are really taking advantage of this situation to balance the books, it’s all a game these people play but just hurts the average person, watch prices rising again 🤦‍♂️
