    I came to the WR late I.e. 1971, whilst not a 43 I can remember seeing 806 at Bristol my first Warship and I still remember it so clear. Whilst lucky to see the back end of the WR Hydraulics I still wish I had my digital camera that I have now and those days. 😩

    Cortina or even a Taurus grill looks a bit none Cortina. Looks like a Capri, Ambassador and possibly another Opel but the bigger one maybe Commadore tuck against the fence in Blue

    Why should AS tell you all their plans, do we know what’s next from other manufacturers NO, but because they are so up front with their info they get shot down because you can’t budget for new models, what if Bachmann bring out a brand new Class 40 next month which hasn’t been announced do we all throw are arms in the air and say why didn’t you tell us I have no money because I have spent it on an AS that I didn’t know about, come on guys get real, there are folks out there that can afford next month gas bill 🤦‍♂️

    Don’t think they have ever attended this one from memory, more stranger was the absence of some big Box sellers especially Rails. Enjoyed it but why do people have to invade your space I really think more people need specs 🤓

    Unfortunately you and me are quite a rare breed we have the greens, the blue and tops and the rest from them on. The corporate Blue Pre tops didn’t exist as it was boring, the fact that we are at an age that this was the times we remember makes us very happy. We probably had more variety of locos, moving between regions and many off a surprise spot of region means nothing, perhaps one day let’s just hope 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Hi Brian, I appreciate all that and I wasn’t trying to take away anything from the survey etc, it was just a thought regarding steam/diesel. TBH it was a good sharp look at things and I have enjoyed seeing all the reaction even if some are getting a little deep 🤦‍♂️

    Perhaps the only way to know is if we split the transitional period into Steam Only/Steam and Diesel or Diesel only, I ticked that box as it fitted by mine is totally pre tops diesel

    Don’t encourage Fran with these liveries, we need someone in AS to contain him and convince him that a Pre Tops Blue WR is a good one on a 31 first please 🤞🤞

    Think it depends on your memories, I have said before a pair of 50s hammering down WBQs in banger blue really evokes my memories of the early/mid 70s so whilst not everyone’s bag, it was certainly mine. I remember absolutely hating them when they replaced my beloved Westerns but now I have a bit of a soft spot for them.

    Can you point me in the right direct of this enormous list of named Blue Pre TOPs 47 so I can have a look around to see what I can find TIA

    However the Western region which I alluded too as the numbers pointed to in the questionnaire, was a Blue pre TOPs era all the Westerns were blue in the end, so why so few 31/47/37 in pre TOPS blue, we have Class 22 33/35/2/52 but seem to avoid the 37/47s specially the 47 namers

    It is interesting to note that the Steam/Diesel period is well represented so why so few Blue pre TOPS diesels from that period, also the WR area is well up there so why so few 47s Named pre TOPS, class 37 In Blue pre tops/Green SW version I.e. central HC, Bristol Class 31 etc etc hopefully we may get some soon 🤷🏻‍♂️. I do find it interesting that a few very verbal individuals put down this era but anyone from my generation remember it with such great affection perhaps we don’t shout out so loud 🤭😜🤣
