  6. Morning from the EU, anything above £15 /€15 can have import duty and 8%vat added before delivery. Just receiving this week from the UK £57 worth of Peco point motors added cost is €18:60. It would help the expats if Hornby and Peco etc had over seas suppliers, I have found a model shop based in Eire I will start to use. Dont mind paying taxes but 28% Vat is above and beyond a Yorkshireman . My blue Merchant navy when it comes ,if it comes, could be expensive Derek19b
  7. The Gainsborough O Gauge model railway of the GNR Kings Cross to Leeds is worth a visit, Open days only though. Derek 19b
  8. It's a , GNR / LNER , perhaps aB2 with a Sterling cab or a K2 with a front bogey .nice model though except for the cab too small for the loco. good look with numbering , had a quick look through some LNER books nothing ,need someone with Yeadons to nail it Derek
  9. Try modelling electronics do a nice PCB to latch the LEDs . Only problem is it reacts to the switch not the points. derek 19b There are two types ,a four way with built in Cdu and a single unit. just a happy customer.
  10. My turntable just fits in snugly no glue held in place with the roads leading on and off. Powered by the Peco motorising kit. Derek

  15. Sorry but you must live in a very nice part of the world . As national account manager for a security company they will use any method , e.g while surveying for additional CCTV cameras a customer with baby in buggy was caught with £250 pounds worth of goods about the park and baby. The stores products were not high end I fact the opposite. The store manger on his return to my side said just imagine if all that stock was Hugo boss how much it would have been. The rif-raf will use their children to steal , and have been doing so for years. Derek 19b 50 years in the electronic security industry
  16. Booker T and the MGs, house rhythm section of Stax records, Time is tight was the music for the Cricket on the BBC. Green Onions was originally there warm up, till a sound engineer pressed record one day. Had the LP along time ago. Derek Lets have more photos of Exchange
  17. South end was always the best with a view of the turntable in the 60's, sometimes you had to wait quite a while to see what was parked nose into the wall. Happy days spotting at Midland.
  18. Looks like a Zephyr / Zodiac, not Corsair or Viva HA or HB.
  19. Great pictures of Sheffield Transport, and the city , also the loan busses in the early 70's Derek 19b
  20. How about scart plug and socket ,21 pin should cover most things. ( the socket on the rear of a sky box) derek
  21. Hi A1k powder extinguisher should be okay, I Would also have a smoke detector with remote indication I.e indicator at the access point to the loft. Also a master electrical cut out switch just to be safe . The fire blanket is not safe as its a smother device ,the base board could be smouldering below . In apast life I designed fire alarm systems. Try ray the local fire company for training on how to use the extingusher and don't forget to get it serviced anually Derek 19b
  22. I like the idea of trains running along Blonk street, but this would leave you facing south at Midland Station . To face north a lot of tunneling would be required Sheffield is built on seven hills . Also there is a small difference in height about 30 - 40 ft to bridgehouses. To access Midland you could have come off the GC where the tunnel to wicker good was and build a bridge across Spital hill acros wicker goods then join the Midland as it cross the river don. The Woodhead was doomed once the Passenger service was withdrawn to make it freight only. It was the best way to travel to the wet side of the country Derek 19B
  23. Looking on brdayabase.info it looks like 08 and 10's only locos that were officialy allocated. You could also add the 17's which were allocated to Tinsley before being shipped out to Barrow Hill then to Scotland. derek 19b
