It's a midland railway centre kit, no longer produced. Thanks.
-
My first hour saw the first two boards screwed together and the well inserts dry fitted, a light sand to the edges is required before taping and gluing into place.
-
Now with the new floor in place, I have done the drop lights. Next up will be the hooded ventilators with rounded ends.
-
Floor pan, tumblehomes and end brackets done. I make the box next. The floor pan has a slight twist in it but once fixed to the rest of the coach, it should pull it right.
-
Indeed the coaches are and will continue to be Sidelines. I intend on getting a streamlined coronation loco kit from the tower collection. Thanks for now.
-
This one is a D1960 Corridor First and formed part of the Coronation Scot. First, what's in the box. Not pictured are buffers, wheels and a few odds and ends, wire etc.
-
Hopefully this will be an all in one place long running thread for my crazy venture to gradually build a model of one of the Coronation scot trains.

Just an update to say this is nearly out of the paint shop. I am waiting for some transfers to arrive though, so varnishing and glazing will have to wait for the moment.
-
It's a case of what I had to hand, I did a trial piece a while ago in the same manner and was happy with the colour.

That's the end of the beading! Just a corridor connector to make up without the end plate, then the body will be ready for paint.
-
That's one made up. They will be stuck on after final washing otherwise the card bellows will get ruined. Worth the effort I think.

So catching up, the coach now has lost wax door bumpers from Laurie Griffin Miniatures and I have nearly done one side of the top beading on one side. Calling it quits tonight before I go cross eyed.
-
Thank you. Hopefully into primer before the end of the bank holiday.
-
That pretty much completes the underframe and the bogies are both finished too. Tomorrow I need to represent the vac pipes and put some plastikard over the floor. Then final detailing on the body and getting it all cleaned up.
-
Apologies if it's getting a bit boring now. I finished one of the bogies tonight and I have some lost wax door bumpers on order with lg miniatures to enhance the coach.
-
Getting there folks. Bogies to finish, buffer shanks, couplings and the rest of the beading on the body.
-
If anyone can answer this it will help me get the last main detailing bit on aside from finishing the bogies. I've got the dynamo arrangement 90% right I'd say. Is the tensioner suupose to connect to the "hinge" on the right hand side under the belt pulley? A photo of an lms one would be even better, mk1 coaches seem to connect in the middle but that would block where the wires come out the dynamo on this.

Got the first vac cylinder on tonight and the guards steps, along with the support angles for the battery box and regulator box.
-
It's been a while since I've done anything on this one but it's nearly done now. Just buffing gear and roof left plus two of the short horizontal hand rails on t'other side.
