  1. Tony. Get well soon. All the best. Andy.
  2. Dave. Sorry to hear that, my thoughts are with you and your family. I lost my Mum in 2019, it's hard, but soldier on and take care of yourself. Andy.
  3. I gently remove the old numbers with a fiberglass brush. Gloss varnish the panel and leave to dry then apply numbers using Microsol. Leave for at least 24 hrs then varnish with Micro Flat. (Microscale do a range of solutions etc).
  4. Item re-listed. No price drop!
  5. Read this description:- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275279871626?hash=item4017f57e8a:g:DwgAAOSw7zxiMhZg Surprised ebay have not removed it.
  6. David. Nice photos. That shelter at Cramlington does not look very inviting! Andy.
  7. 44767 (4767), was completed on 31st December 1947 at Crewe Works. It was unique amongst the 842 Black Fives in that it featured outside Stephenson link motion and also had a double chimney, Timken roller bearings and electric lighting.
  8. I believe that you can solder Mazak. But this was just adding pickups to the sides of a Mainline 03 chassis, that was a rubbish intermittent runner, going back well over 20 plus years ago. I presume the 03 chassis was Mazak? Anyway I cleaned up the sides, just enough to where I wanted to solder to. Tinned the Mazak with a Bakers Fluid type flux and low melt solder. Cleaned the area thoroughly to get rid of the flux with washing soda, several times, thoroughly drying between applications and making sure it does not get into the motor ect. Tinned the Phosphor Bronze pick-ups with 145 degree solder and flux paste. Fluxed the two and soldered them together after adding more flux. (9% Phosphoric Acid).
  9. I saw it in the flesh, twice, and it exuded atmosphere.
  10. Looks like you have changed the dome. If so was the old rounder one easy to get off? I am planning to use a Caley Coaches one. This picture shows 57565 still with its Westinghouse gear in 1952 at Dalry Road Shed. https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/774337729653378192/
  11. Further to my last post try Alba Models, http://www.albarailwaymodels.co.uk/index.html They do 7mm and 4mm models as etched kits and took on some of the Decent range.
  12. I picked up a 2nd hand etch of Caley Loco Semaphores on eBay a couple of years ago. They are from Decent Models, which I think is no longer operational. I have attached a copy of the indicators positions with the routes, which came with the etch. Hope this helps. The Caledonian Association or Jim from Caley Coaches may be able to help with what happened to the Decent Models range.
  13. By the looks of other items for sale, a chancer!
  14. One of the Hornby Caledonian coach I have been working on.
  15. Davy. Yeah, no movement on the early variant for me either, not even shown to follow. But no customs for me! Andy.
  16. Re: C15918. Think they got the destination wrong on 158784, this Newcastle to Liverpool service. 'Street'.
  17. I would rather have a model that's been detailed rather than a sterile, out of the box item.
  18. The only 4mm Caledonian Coaches I know about are kits from Caley Coaches. https://caley.com/index.php The Hornby Caledonian coaches are not right. The underframe and ends, I think, are from Mk1 coaches.
  19. I read somewhere that 57565 is not due into Rails until this week. I have two on order for re-numbering.
