  2. Just stumbled across your thread, and loving what I see. I'd say I'm new to modelling Ceske Drahy in the present day, but that implies I'm committing to it as well as/instead of my British stuff 🙃 Anyway, lovely to see the stock available, and English captions too makes my life a bit easier finding stuff on eBay later. Following with interest!
  3. Absolutely! The OBB Railjet is gorgeous also! I've been on one of them and loved it.
  4. Czech me out! I'm now expecting the "what the hell have you done, Jack?" comments! Well, think no more. It basically stems back to an original thought years ago - I've always wanted something Continental to run on the layout. No particular reason, other than 'it's something different'. However, Roco's latest catalogue appeared on my Facebook feed, and one thing lead to another, and I saw someone selling a good condition Ceske Drahy (Czech state railway company) 7-coach Railjet pack, and someone else selling the matching Taurus engine. Both being UK sellers too! Thankfully, payday was the same week, and a few taps on my phone later, I was the new owner... I've been to the Czech once, and loved it. Gorgeous livery, brilliant variety of trains, and I couldn't really turn this down! Plus I've got stock like an extra Bachmann LM 350 that are redundant and just gathers dust, so they'll be moved on in time to fund this. The model in question is HO scale (naturally), and all made by Roco. It's not the budget-end Piko release, but it's not the dog's dangles top-end either, but a lovely half-way house. Naturally, the 1:87 scale difference is noticeable, especially when you look at the height of the trains. Throw in a prototypical lower platform out there too, and it looks a tad bonkers in the station. But, it's gorgeous - absolutely gorgeous. I was sceptical how it'd cope on my layout given most British stuff I own throws itself off on points and canted rails. But no. It runs perfectly, straight out the box, no mods required. Even with rigid bar couplings, which have a high failure rate on my layout, are fine. So what next? The Taurus locos are known for their sound. There's a variant of them with a single cab door on each side half way down the loco that sings. For whatever reason, they sing notes as the depart from a stand. Annoyingly, the version CD use doesn't have this, but still sounds good. It's on the list to get sound eventually I think... The driving trailer of the Railjet set needs a Plux16 chip which is on order. British trains haven't used this spec of Plux yet (only Plux22). The fewer pins allow for smaller chips, but obviously reduces the function ability. Perfect really given it's only a trailer vehicle. The pantographs, all four of them, are beautiful, but too high, so will remain down for operating on the layout. That's good given I have no idea which I'd need for 25kV AC wires that don't exist... Cheers! PS - I'm also looking at a 'Goggles' diesel loco for the lolz. RIP my bank account 🙃
  5. Lovely update Jordan. I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't excited by the MLA update!
  6. Wow, wasn't expecting to see that this morning! That's a beautiful creation! Possibly a world first in a 334 model being done? Never seen it before!
  7. Absolutely stunning mate. Really is.
  8. Pictures published by Hornby Magazine of the decorated samples! Looks absolutely gorgeous.
  9. Chor, that's awesome to hear! Especially for a first EP! Thanks for this update Mike.
  10. Wise words there! Thanks very much - never even considered that stuff!
  11. First little update of the year! Nothing major, but nevertheless... Part of a Christmas gift I received was an ATD Models kit of a messroom and stores hut. These two small buildings went together very nicely and I think they suit the space I've put them in too. Just need to drag my arse into gear to do the hardstanding ground! Happy New Year!
  12. Yeah this EP has emphasised the rubber seal somewhat! I was discussing this with a few mates who signed them as train crew. Certainly a lot flatter in real life, but it's good to see they've at least acknowledged its existence.
  13. Revolution have published their 2023 round-up online and in it, are some tasty pictures for us all! Here's some pictures taken from the page of the 175/180 EPs in 00 gauge! I also spotted Revolution's own Mike Buick said the following on the Facebook group for Dean Park: "Incoming! First EP samples of our Revolution Trains OO scale Class 175 and 180 units. I’ve been quietly testing these over the Christmas break and so far, so good. There’s a few things that need revising slightly but overall, I’m (I say I’m as the rest of the team haven’t had a chance to look at them properly yet) extremely pleased at what the factory have produced so far. Key Features: Single 21 pin MTC Decoder, Independent Night / Day / Head and Tail lights, Central Door Locking Lights, Interior Lights, Illuminated Destination Display, 14 pin electrical couplers fitted to kinematic mounts, working Shafenberger couplings on each driving car, suitable for Peco radius 2 curves and above (as tested by myself), and Factory Fitted Speakers in both driving cars. You can see the EP samples at DEFine next weekend and Rails of Sheffield the weekend after." They look absolutely fantastic, and very promising models. Can't wait to see it developed further and eventually running on my North Wales-themed layout 🤤
  14. Thanks! Isn't it! More containers have arrived. A friend of mine has some spare containers he can't use on his liner train, so I'll have them to finish the yard off. Another Evergreen, and two Maersk ones for some variety. I've also been trying to fix a track defect that's been throwing my Accura 37 off. Where the outer loop's superelevation starts, the inside rail's dipped a bit too much. Most trains have coped, but it has been troublesome at times. A simple job of getting rid of some ballast, packing card, and then topping it with fresh stuff will do the trick. Merry Christmas all. Have a goodn.
  15. Didn't realise you'd replied - apologies. That's fair enough! Gives anticipation for a second batch. It is of interest for sure, but wanted to double check beforehand! Cheers Adam.
  16. Looks lovely that J. Someone pointed out on Facebook that the undercarriage has markings to show which orientation the carriage should be for heading to Blaenau. Lovely little extra that wouldn't be noticed easily... (apologies to who posted this - I can't remember)
  17. @Adam1701D don't suppose you can shed some light onto whether a Northern purple and blue version will be released? That's what I'd ideally like a model of 🙃 thanks!
  18. To add to the collection of 'stuff that's dragged Mk5A coaches', Freightliner's 66523 rescued 68029 this morning at Gorton and took it to Stalybridge where LSL's 37521 turned up to continue the move to Longsight after FL wanted their engine back. Photo by jb_04_ on Instagram
  19. Ahhh no! I checked the evening of the sale, and they were down to 3, but still at £33. Their sale did what they wanted - it emptied shelves!
  20. Oh that's smart! Not sure I'm afraid. I bought some second hand from someone. Hornby and Dapol for sure. Maybe Bachmann too? Deffo no CRail ones.
  21. Not much has happened recently, but enough for me to put a post together. The fake ballast loads for the JNAs turned up, and they look marvellous. I utilised the very good Black Friday sale that Hattons had. The opportunity to grab a TfW mk4 DVT (82229) for £33 was not to be missed! This means I've now got two, and both will eventually get advertising wraps as per the real thing when I can get the graphics sorted. Also in the Hattons order was two sets of Evergreen containers. This has filled my storage yard a bit, and the variation of greens is really cool! Other than that, very little has been going on, so here's a round-up of photos taken this lunchtime when I've been having a small running session. The running session included D213 cleaning some rails, and 70006 with the new engineers train.
  22. My wallet has just died and legged it. I've been after one of these having signed them as a guard, and absolutely love them. I got a 3D printed kit a few years ago and still not started it. Won't be now! Thank you Dapol 👏🏻 Will they be doing the Northern blue/purple livery too?
  23. Love the 159 update! As we talked about on Instagram, it's a much cheaper way of achieving it without spending too much. The MLA looks absolutely fantastic. Bravo 👏🏻
  24. Cheers! Yeah, it's a useful way of getting more what you want. I just haven't got the balls to sell all my non-NWC stock. Got a pair of Bachmann 350s that I just don't want to remove. Half-tempted to sell the /2 and get the /1 resprayed into TfW for the shiz and giggles. And yep, I had to double check. I suspect they've probably got more than they can shift. Individual prices are average, but the bulk packs were too good to say no to! We'll have to keep an eye on another RMwebber's thread together won't we haha. It's annoying because Dapol announced the MLA, but then dropped it for whatever reason.
