  1. Cheers! Yes, absolutely. Will get you some once they arrive.
  2. Thanks very much! Welcome to the thread. Hopefully there's something for you. Come back to 00 😉 we won't bite.
  3. Been a while since the last update. Not much has happened thanks to June giving us some scorching temperatures. The Virgin 390 drag is waiting on couplings to arrive from WHWW. It's certainly a thing of beauty. I had a couple of mates over who brought some trains too. The 009 selection was particularly fruity. The big project I'm working on at the moment is the control panel for the scenic pointwork. A control panel top was commissioned and built by JSM, and I love it! I've fitted the on off on toggle switches, and just need to wire it up and get it all working! Cheers
  4. Fantastic modelling updates, and congratulations on joining the club. It's an awesome feeling driving, and completely bonkers when you first out on your own. I experienced that myself just over a year ago. Unreal. All the best in the new job!
  5. Oh that's just gorgeous. I really like the multistorey car park especially!
  6. The project progress list shown at the DEMU show suggests these wagons are in shipping status! How very exciting!
  7. They don't make it easy for you that's for sure. I'm looking forward to hopefully some GBRf darker blue ones to complement my Ermewa grey ones for the Llandudno Junction slate trains 😎
  8. If they don't get enough orders of interest for the First Great Western/North Western liveries, they won't be made, and you'll be going nowhere.
  9. That looks absolutely fantastic. Love it.
  10. Wonderful news! And the prices are as I expected them to be as well. Time to work out which ones I want, with my wallet hiding somewhere...
  11. Continuing with the Virgin 390, I've made progress experimenting with fitting couplings and getting it to actually go around the layout. Using the Symoba range of kinematic couplings, and a chopped down West Hill 800 coupling, I've managed to get it to work just right. A lengthened West Hill HST power car style coupling is needed for the 57 to give it enough clearance. The hatch was cut open using a dremel then filed down to the right lines. As a result, the LEDs for the model have been removed and coupling fitted in its place. I dragged one of the dummy cars around yesterday on test to see if the couplings were set right.
  12. This wasn't the part of the plan... Decided to see what 57s people were selling on Facebook. Found an advertised 57312 (factory weathering) with sound for £140 from a few weeks ago. Thought it'd have gone... but it hadn't! Well, not until I took it. So welcome The Hood (or Mick Lynch if you fancy). Works a treat. Just needs the usual servicing to widen the wheelsets and clean the wheels and contacts. I'll upgrade the lights and speaker at some point, but otherwise - ooof! Keeping on the subject of the 390 drag, Hattons advertised one of three coaches I needed the other day (thanks to the wishlist email!). I did wonder if they'd get the others too, but didn't hold off buying it there and then. The next day comes, Amazon tell me they've messed up so sending that carriage back to Liverpool, and Hattons announce the other two I need are now available 😂 oops! Once the final coach arrives, we're laughing. I've made a start on the 390 couplings, but I'll put that on the workbench thread later.
  13. After 3 and a half months of being away for fixing, the Accurascale Mk5A DT has finally returned, and seems to be in good working order! Well, certainly better than it was. It suffered poor back to back measurements on the wheels (wider than normal, which is a new one for me), and the lights flickered like a strobe. I still think the driving lights need a stay alive on the decoder. Bit of a shame given the saloon lights have one and it works amazingly. But hey, they're always learning to improve their models, so here's to future developments. Needs the destination screens fitting, but otherwise, welcome back!
  14. Lovely looking layout! Lots of great potential. I particularly like the trackwork and third rail so far. Keep it up! Shall follow with interest.
  15. Yeah the EMR ones are finishing at the weekend from what I can remember. If they can't find anyone to take them on, they'll be stored, and you'll be going nowhere. ATW 3 car and TfW 2 car 175 for me. And if the sound price is right (which I have a feeling it might...) then that'll be my bank account raped 🙃
  16. Plenty have come available on their site today as they've done a clear out in the warehouse
  17. Made a bit of progress with the Pendolino. Two out of the five required carriages have been sourced. A dummy chassis was purchased from eBay to replace the motor chassis on the original model. Replacement couplings were ordered too turning the socket coupling into a plug given it was going at the other end of the train. Couplings arrived from Peter's Spares, but after some fiddling about, I realised what I ordered wasn't what I received. I enquired, but was told Hornby must've packaged them wrong. A quick eBay search later found me the right ones, albeit the same product code as the previous order, and I finally got there. A quick view of the Pendolino now getting bigger in the fiddle yard Cheers
  18. Cheers! Just 57315 in ATW so far. I am tempted by a Virgin one if the right price comes up. Thankfully the ATW ones were regulars!
  19. Well, this wasn't an expected project... The recent sale of some rolling stock (the FGW sleeper and my N gauge Eurostar, both of which rarely saw use) has spurred me on to do something a bit different. I've owned a Hornby Virgin Pendolino since late 2007 - it was my first model as I started the hobby. Certainly for the past 8 or so years, it's been in storage and collecting dust. A bit silly, given I'm modelling the North Wales Coast which featured these. So far, I've dusted off the original 4 car model, and re-glued a number of loose windows back in. This time, with proper glazing glue rather than generic super glue that teenager Jack was quite fond of. I've come across a few glue marks here and there, but it's not too serious thankfully. I've purchased a dummy driving car chassis to swap out the motored one given it'll be dragged by a 57. It'll need some coupling mods too, so I'll have to work out a plan for that. Some kinematic coupling pieces have been ordered too that'll hopefully work. Two out of the five extra coaches needed have been sourced, with the other three work in progress. It'll be nice to have a long train on the layout. And after the success of playing with my mate's pendo drag last year, I'll hopefully have one of my own soon!
  20. This is just fantastic! I doff my hat to you 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
