  1. As Simon mentioned, I can help on this. In fact, the same pages were missing in my kit for the composite. But there is no difference as the instructions will be the same as the dia T34 as the parts are the same. Cheers, Ade.
  2. Hi Ken, thanks. I reckon so! Going to do a bit more on them today. Lez wants the kitchen decorating next week..So going to crack on while I can. Cheers, Ade.
  3. Here is the second video Lez shot today. Just a bit of fun as Malmesbury was a single engine in steam line. But we wanted to film two engines running and show the 5 plank goods wagons. Cheers, Ade.
  4. Here is a little test run of the branch set. Lots of work still to do on them. But I am happy with the build so far and they run OK! Cheers, Ade.
  5. Thanks Andy. Just uploading a couple of little videos to YouTube. Should be up in about 30 mins. Cheers, Ade.
  6. Hi Julian, just wash them down with washing up liquid and warm (not hot) water. It will get rid of any grease or release agent on the plastic. Cheers, Ade.
  7. That will make an interesting structure. Cheers, Ade.
  8. Thanks as ever for the comments and likes. Going to do a bit more on them today. The compo measures 186mm in length where it meets the underframe. Cheers, Ade.
  9. Thanks! Here is where I am at now. Patch the Cat supervises. Done a test push along the track with the chassis and after a quick bend of a couple of the brakes which were binding, all now runs free. So I can now solder the bearing retaining wires in place. The chassis are not complete, but I am getting there. Bodies are just placed on for the photo. The seats are also primed up. What I have found is the seats are rather wide. Cheers, Ade.
  10. Hi Tim, but I suspect a lot of time has been invested in making these, nice work. Cheers, Ade.
  11. Hi Ernie, that sweeping curved line looks great. I will be interested to see how you get on with the sprung point. There was one on my line too. Cheers, Ade.
  12. Hi Dan, thanks for the message. We are all good here. My Dad turns 86 on the 24th. Sadly I won't be able to visit, but he is doing fine. Today I have carried on with the carriage build. Got the bodies for the other two built up (but floors need to be made) and all the seats are now assembled. Started work on the next chassis too. The brickwork on the cattledock came from a Spanish company called Redutex: https://tienda.redutex.com/en/12-textures I got mine from a UK based supplier. Cheers, Ade.
  13. I kwow it does not fit in with your needs, but I do like the look of the ex Broad Gauge example in the photo Russ posted. Cheers, Ade.
  14. Hi Brian, well worth all the effort. You should be really snug in there. Cheers, Ade.
  15. Hi Chris, glad you are making progress. Looking good as ever. Cheers, Ade.
  16. Hi Guys, today I have been working on the kit. Made good progress, but still a lot to do. The springs etc are only fitted to one side. The body and roof are just placed on the chassis for the photo. Cheers, Ade.
  17. Hi Julian, glad you are getting on OK with the kits. My brake van was a brass kit from Connoisseur Models. I think adding some weight will be a good idea. I can see myself doing that on mine. I have been busy on my kits today. Cheers, Ade.
  18. Hi Julian, looking good. Now the ballast has been done, what is the next project on the layout? Cheers, Ade.
  19. Hi Polly, that is great. These little details add so much to any model. I have some 7mm Modelu GWR tail lamps. I bought some loco lamps from Lee Marsh these even have functional side brackets. It appears he does not make these now, wish I had bought more at the time. I do need to buy some side lamps for my brake van next. Good luck fitting all of these bits, I don't envy you working in 4mm. Cheers, Ade.
  20. Hi Chris, thanks! I have taken my time. But the next two should build quicker. Hi Simon, that is an option. But I intend to spray the body so I should be ok. The seats I will pre paint before these are glued in place. (re the seats: in the instructions it tells you to scratch build these, but they are actually included. Given the kit dates from 1988 these have been included some time since, but the instructions have not been updated. ) The livery will be the simplified 1928-1934 version so no fancy lining. Phew! Cheers, Ade.
  21. Hi Russ, I trawled through lots of photos too last night looking for one too as it had peaked my interest. I could not find one either. Cheers, Ade.
  22. Hi Polly, I work in 7mm and loco lamps in that scale are small enough for me. GWR loco lamps have fittings to the sides which allow them to sit on the lamp irons. Ever thought of adding the lamp irons to the loco? Cheers, Ade.
  23. Hi Ian, your model was ATC fitted as indicated by the two battery boxes located under the bunker. One box for the the ATC in the cab, while the other one was for the Autocoach bell. Cheers, Ade.
  24. Hi Ian, they were ATC fitted from new as far as I know. http://www.greatwestern.org.uk/m_in_042.htm Where the ATC shoe was fitted I don't know... Cheers, Ade.
  25. I have spent all afternoon working on the carriage. Done more work on the chassis and this is coming along well. I have also done more work on the body, cleaned up the roof and drilled the holes for the ventilators etc. You have a cut your own floor from a sheet of Plasticard supplied. Drilled out the 0.5mm holes for the door handles etc on the body sides. This done, I thought that I would assemble the body, so I glued the sides to the ends inserted the floor. All nice and square and fitted together well. It was only then I made the horrible realisation that they had supplied two identical body sides. (See my pic from yesterday) I had not noticed this! Luckily I managed to remove one side before the cement had fully taken hold....Had I not looked where the compartments were to be located, I could easily put this aside to set and then it would have been a real disaster. The plastic parts are not numbered and there are few diagrams in the instructions. This has set me back several hours work now. Given I had bought two brake compo T34's, I decided to open the other still sealed box. Low and behold this had two identical sides enclosed BUT the good thing is they are the opposite side to the ones in this pack! Cheers, Ade.
