  1. I have now fitted the sound chip and stay alive to 9659. Getting a dab hand at this now I have done a heavy weathering job on this one as it is in 1942 to 1947 "GWR" livery. Given wartime conditions, I doubt locos get much cleaning? I had not intended weathering it quite yet as it needs the buffer beam numbers. But the buffer beams can be cleaned back and the decals put in place, then the powder re-applied. I may eventually get some etched brass number plates for the Panniers. Once again a "mini me" has been fitted. Lez has done a couple of videos which I will add later. Cheers, Ade.
  2. Hi Simon, looks like you have had a very productive time. Cheers, Ade.
  3. The funny thing is, I don't really eat much chocolate or sweets, but I love these and have got a whole box load! Rationing myself to one a day max... Cheers, Ade.
  4. Hi Julian, this is coming along great. Ballast makes such a huge difference. Cheers, Ade.
  5. Lez has certainly got the job. Here is today's video: Happy Easter! Cheers, Ade.
  6. Hi Chris, yes you can use the drums fine. Mike Fenton mentions that one was kept in the lamp hut on the Malmesbury line. Cheers, Ade.
  7. Just noticed this blog: Turns out there is another shunters truck you can buy. Cheers, Ade.
  8. Thanks guys. Here is the other little video Lez did.
  9. Today I weathered the wartime livery B set. Lez also did a couple of short videos of the Jinty. Cheers, Ade.
  10. Just to confirm what has already now been said, here is 5804 in late GWR guise and then in BR days on the Malmesbury line. Cheers, Ade.
  11. Looks very good. It is great when the kids can get involved and make such a good job of things. I see from the track plan that the same coal merchants were in business at Malmesbury (the line I am modelling) just a few miles down the road. Cheers, Ade.
  12. Hi Hal, you can buy a kit here: https://www.walsallmodelindustries.co.uk/product.php/shunters_truck/?k=:::6594737 Not built this one, just seen it on the stand at shows. I am building their Cordon kit at the moment as you know. Cheers, Ade.
  13. Being a WW2 Jeep owner, I do like the Willys MB Jeep trailer on the lowfit. Cheers, Ade.
  14. Hi Duncan, I love the way you have re-created the dirt on the north lights. Reminds me of our conservatory roof...... Cheers, Ade.
  15. Once again top notch stuff. Well done. Cheers, Ade.
  16. Hi Ian, I build a log cabin style shed starting last Sept and I have just about completed it now. I have done a blow by blow photo account of the build in my layout thread in the 7mm sub forum. You can read it here: Cheers, Ade.
  17. I addition to Ray's answer. The DCC80 works fine with O Gauge points. Cheers, Ade.
  18. Slaters are still operating. I called today and then placed an order via their website. Should be posted out on Tuesday. Cheers, Ade.
  19. Done a few odd jobs this afternoon after decorating this morning: Painted the station fencing again. Looks like I will need another pack having laid it at the side of the platform. Glazed the Toad brake van and fitted the missing rear coupling after making a spring. Just need to fix the roof on now to complete. Painted the Modelu "mini me" and fitted into the 64xx. Lez remarked my hair and tash have not been that brown for years..... Cheers, Ade.
  20. Thanks Chris, you make me blush! I have just given the credit card some hammer and ordered three carriages from Slaters. These ran on the line until replaced by the B set in the mid 1930's. I have ordered two brake 3rd's diagram T34 and one 1st/2nd composite diagram U4. (In fact, the line used a diagram U5, but no one makes these.) So these should keep me busy for a while. Cheers, Ade.
  21. Thanks for the comments and likes. Hi Barnaby, good advice. I usually have a box there, but moved it for the photo. Cheers, Ade.
  22. Looks great John. Nice work on the top feed. Are you going to fit a smokebox number plate? Cheers, Ade.
