  1. Hi Julian, did you get the bottom of the electrical fault? I am looking forwards to seeing the ballast go down. Cheers, Ade.
  2. Lez took a bit of video footage on her phone. Cheers, Ade.
  3. I have also weathered both Autocars and the Chocolate and Cream B Set plus the Toad brake van with a spray of frame dirt. I can now put the glazing in the Toad. The roofs to the carriages have yet to be done. I have included a shot of the wartime austerity chocolate B set to show the contrast of the un-weathered bogies and frame. Cheers, Ade.
  4. Hi Pete, thanks for the video link. The series is OK, I enjoyed the first one but have yet to catch up the latest one. Cheers, Ade.
  5. One of the frames is now partially made up and the gas tanks are done in primer.
  6. After spending the day decorating, tonight I have gone back to working on the Cordon gas wagon. All the gas tanks are now made up. The frame is just plonked in place for the photo as it is unfinished. Cheers, Ade.
  7. You can buy liquid masking fluid, such as Humbrol "Maskol", you paint it on and it dries to like a rubber coating which can then be peeled off once the respray is done. Cheers, Ade.
  8. The Zimo chip is fitted with Paul Chetter's sound and 860009 stay alive was from Digitrains. The speaker is the "Boom Box". Cheers, Ade.
  9. I used Railmatch frame dirt on the underframes on both locos. Then I used some of my Flames of War wargames weathering powders on the brake shoes and brake rods. Cheers, Ade.
  10. I would give both another waft over. As the smokebox is the face of the loco, I think any imperfections there will always catch the eye. It would be worth spending a little time at this stage to get it just right. I would use a very fine wet and dry emery paper. You will then need to give it another coat or two of primer. Hope this helps? Cheers, Ade.
  11. Hi Charlie, is this on your website now? Cheers, Ade.
  12. Another waft all over would not hurt. I was more concerned at the rough area on the smokebox door. I would try and smooth that down. Cheers, Ade.
  13. Today's progress report. The 3F Jinty is now sound chipped plus stay alive added and weathered. Just need a crew and some LMS pattern lamps to complete. The 64xx is now finished with the underframe and wheels weathered. As the decorating materials have arrived today, I will be doing the painting the kitchen and living room next week. So railway updates will be rare. Cheers, Ade.
  14. Hi Tim, I fitted the chip and stay alive to my Jinty today. Easy to work on. I have also weathered it. Photos to follow in my layout thread. Cheers, Ade.
  15. Hi Chris, I love them too, the Autocoach was the first bit of stock I bought. I intend to fit some of the new Modelu seated passenger figures in due course. Started to paint the "mini me" Modelu driver figures today. Cheers, Ade.
  16. Hi Martin, I was sold on DDC sound after seeing Andy and George's layouts. Loving it. Hi Guys, this morning Lez and I went for a walk down the street and across the fields and were accompanied by Patch the Cat. He is like a little dog. It was really fun. Sadly we had to turn back as we met a lady with a dog. Lez wants to get him a lead.... This afternoon I have re weathered the 64xx as naturally some of the powders had worn off with all the handling. I had a really good running session to familiarise myself with all the features of the sound chip. Ran trains with both single and double Autocars. Started to fit a chip to the other Pannier. Cheers, Ade.
  17. Sounds like a poor electrical connection somewhere. You will have to investigate. Cheers, Ade.
