  1. I looked the O Gauge samples at a show last year. I liked what I saw. Cheers, Ade.
  2. A big day. Ran my first loco! Joined up the three base boards. Just had a put a bit of cork under one leg to get it all level. Also started to lay more track. Only ran on DC up and down about 9 foot of track but it has been a momentous day! Cheers, Ade,
  3. I would go with a 58xx coming up from Dapol with a set of Slaters carriages. (I am )
  4. I believe the body will be die cast. Cheers, Ade.
  5. Hi Julian, these are a neat little solution. I coloured mine with a black felt tip pen before fitting them. Cheers, Ade.
  6. Hi Guys, has anyone seen one of these before? It was made in Hong Kong by a Company called Apollo 2000 Enterprises (never heard of them!) back in 1981. I expect it was one of these things sold as limited edition on the back of the Mail on Sunday Magazine type of thing. Cheers, Ade.
  7. Hi Mike, thanks for the info. Cheers, Ade.
  8. Hi Guys, as you know I work in the auction trade. We have had an alert regarding the theft of around 24 enamel signs from Fawley Hill. I don't know any more details at present. Cheers, Ade.
  9. Hi Guys, this item came into work as part of a stunning group of items to a Royal Flying Corps Pilot. I thought that it was interesting and wanted to share it with you here. Cheers, Ade.
  10. Yes, hence my question mark. I was hoping someone might know for sure. Cheers, Ade.
  11. I plan on modelling an un-numbered example in green with wasp stripes into D2196. As you will see this example does not have the black strip on top. Looks like the lamps may have been red ? on the one I wish to portray. I will enjoy doing the mods needed to make this loco into the one I want for my line. Looks like I will need to remove one horn, get rid of the overhead warning signs, paint the footsteps, lamps etc. Cheers, Ade.
  12. I have done some miles in mine over the years. You do get a numb bum! I took to to Arnhem 13 years on the trot, until the cost of the ferry and fuel made it just too expensive. Cheers, Ade.
  13. A bit damp here. So I will carry on inside for today. Cheers, Ade.
  14. Thanks for the comments and likes. The cutting in was done with a half inch brush, so it was rather time consuming and I have it all to do again for the top coat, but it was worth it. Tomorrow should see some more done. Cheers, Ade.
  15. Hi Andy, taking of blue class 50's. We had a couple of lads come today to revamp the kitchen units by doing a vinyl wrap. (They do kitchens as a weekend sideline) Full time, they do trucks for Eddie Stobbart etc. They showed me some pics of previous work and one was a blue Class 50! Certain parts are painted like the doors, but the main bodywork covered in vinyl. Cheers, Ade.
  16. Sounds like you have got lots to keep you busy! I look forwards to seeing some photos. Cheers, Ade.
  17. Yet more cabin painting. Done the doors and door frame and one external window frame in the chocolate coloured paint today. I now intend to do the barge boards and fascias in this as I like the contrast. I have also done four of the five window frames on the inside. Cheers, Ade.
  18. Very sad to read this. I would miss your modelling and the music videos too. I don't do Facebook. Please reconsider. Cheers, Ade.
  19. Finally getting time to start detailing my A3. Starting with a removable plasticard insert cut to size, painted black and and some real coal added. Cheers, Ade.
  20. There are a couple of other items in the sale. A BR travel agents wooden totem sign which once housed a clock and a 1914 MR Signaling block instrument. They were items I actually secured for sale from clients. Cheers, Ade.
  21. Commission is about 24% all in what with the VAT. Yes the toy sale venue is a bit odd. It all came about due to the previous toy valuer doing both toys and railwayana and he used to put it all in the one sale. Since he left we have stuck with tradition so to speak and sadly we never have much railwayana in and rarely enough to justify a stand alone sale. We did a really interesting sale a few years ago in which we sold a load original wooden casting moulds for loco nameplates. It was on man's collection. There was some great paper documents in that sale with hand written notes from Sir William Stanier. Cheers, Ade.
  22. All Jeeps were factory finished in Olive Drab. Camo paint was applied in theatre. I have a real one, a 1942 Ford GPW, ex British Airborne. Cheers, Ade.
