  1. I think you can tell. I always say that the photos don't do justice to the real layout when seen in the flesh. Cheers, Ade.
  2. Last delivery of the Osmo paint arrived today. So the chocolate brown can do done at the weekend if it is fine, hopefully Sunday looks like being the best day. Raining here now... Been thinking ahead to the summer and the garden line (Running before I can walk you might add.. ) I am thinking of adding a model of Great Summerford Halt which was the next station down the line from Malmesbury. Just a single platform affair with a siding in the 1920's. By 1933 the station had gone. The model would be portable and simply placed on the decking. Cheers, Ade.
  3. I agree the website is lacking. Heljan don't seem to be much better to be honest last time I looked? Good comms is vital in business today. But at the end of the day it is the finished product what counts. Cheers, Ade.
  4. Members of the collectors club do get updates on new releases via the club magazine and at the factory open day. Cheers, Ade.
  5. Hi Guys, just thought I would share these with you. Cheers, Ade.
  6. BLT = Branch Line Terminus But if it is a Sandwich it is Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato Cheers, Ade.
  7. No, only ever seen them sell them as they make them. They are listed as doing Bristol show again in a couple of weeks. Cheers, Ade.
  8. Hi Julian, Andy does use them, as I picked him some up last year at the Bristol show Cheers, Ade.
  9. My shopping list is rather worrying too. I am looking at the 03, the Sentinel with sound and the 58xx all coming out in a matter of weeks of one another. Cheers, Ade.
  10. Tower have said they now expect the O Gauge 03’s in on Friday or next Monday. Cheers, Ade.
  11. Hi Guys, I had a Sword come into work just before Xmas and today started my appraisal on it ready for auction in March. The blade was lathered in grease. What I found interesting is it once belonged to Lt Col Ralph Peacock, who was the eldest son of Richard Peacock, of Beyer - Peacock fame. Ralph became head of Gorton Foundry after his father's death. Clearly he had a few bob to spend on a nice blade! Cheers, Ade
  12. Hi Zach, thanks. Yes the baseboards will run the full 26 feet of the length of the cabin. I have the last board to construct. There is 18 foot of boards shown in the photo. Cheers, Ade.
  13. We had a situation at work where a colleague of mine found a coin in a bureau with a secret drawer. He brought it to me and I confirmed it was Gold and worth about £1000. Called the vendor who naturally had no idea it was in there. It was sold at auction and made just over £1000. The bureau sold above estimate too due to the story. What did he get? A box of Milk Tray.... Cheers, Ade.
  14. I believe the NCB livery is fictitious. The GWR livery was nothing like what the one being marketed as "GWR" green with the Isebrook name. I plan on re spraying one into GWR Green. Cheers, Ade.
  15. Thanks! Very pleased with how it has gone today. Still a lot of exterior painting to do, I feel I have turned a corner now. Cheers, Ade.
  16. Big progress today! The IKEA window blinds fitted and three of the window trims done. But best of all, the legs are now fitted to the three baseboards. The boards are not joined up yet though and I may add some bracing to the legs. It was dark, so excuse the poor flash pic. Cheers, Ade.
  17. The last wall, doors and two windows painted today. In addition I have given a second coat of paint to the exposed end of the grain of the logs. These have now had four coats, so they should fair up well to the weather. The chocolate brown paint is now is stock, so ordering this. Just doing the door frame, door panels and window frames on the exterior in this to give a contrast. Blinds have been purchased from IKEA for both doors and windows. Hoping to get these up tomorrow. Cheers, Ade.
  18. Hi Andy, really looking forwards to moving my stuff in there now. Just had half an hour in there to tidy up. Baseboard one is in situ but the legs are only clamped in place at the moment and need screwing to the board. Due to how the cabin is constructed with the two halves joined together, the baseboards will gain an extra 40cm on the scenic side taking it to the cabin wall. This will be handy as it will allow me to model to embankment and trees. The only drawback will be the joining wall coming out which you can see in the (messy work in progress )second photo. But I think I will curve the backscene around it. The backscene is going to be curved in the corner of the cabin too. Not too fond of 90 degree joints if they can be avoided. With the overall width of the boards I am hoping that the railway will sit well in the landscape. Cheers, Ade.
  19. Hi Andy, just found your new thread at you are at 2 pages already! Cheers, Ade.
