  1. The back scenes looks good and looks a lot like Andy Peters' work. Cheers, Ade.
  2. Listen to your good lady. She is right. Just look at real line side fences. They are never perfect. I must admit though I am like you and like things just so! Cheers, Ade.
  3. Started to build up the KS Laser Designs Engine Shed inspection pit kit. Fits together very nice. Will give a coat of paint next before fitting the other side. I did not realise that the kit contains two of these pits. I only need one for my layout. Cheers, Ade.
  4. A couple of shots taken yesterday at Warley of the latest work in progress on the O Gauge GWR AEC Railcar. Cheers, Ade.
  5. Here you go. They need another coat of paint. But this will give you some idea of how they look. Cheers, Ade.
  6. Hi Andy, I am saving my pennies as the Sentinel and 58xx are out soon Hi Mike, great to meet up! I will certainly come along to the Mickleover event. Cheers, Ade.
  7. Picked up a few small items today at Warley: Modelu GWR Signal finials to upgrade my Dapol Home Signals and a pack of Modelu GWR side lamps for the Toad Brake van and a laser cut inspection pit for the engine shed. Cheers, Ade.
  8. I picked up a pack of Modelu finials from Warley today. They printed onto a square base which needs filing down carefully so just the scanned round base remains and then they can glued in place. Done my two signals tonight and pleased with the results. Cheers, Ade.
  9. Like Jay, I too asked today at Warley about the missing handrail. I had hoped it was just missing from the prototypes, but sadly not. This has really made me think twice about buying one of these now. If they could supply the missing bits, I am sure I could fit them. But the question is, do I want to be doing this? Cheers, Ade.
  10. Hi Rob, I am off to Warley this morning. Will post back tonight if no replies. Cheers, Ade.
  11. Nothing wrong with them all at. It is a great model. I have one. Dealers tend to move on old stock which they might have over stocked in the first place and is now not selling. When any new loco comes on to the market there will be the initial surge of people buying but this will soon die down but moving on a year unsold stock will languish. Cheers, Ade.
  12. Hi Andy, I am taking every opportunity to get the cabin painted whenever I can... The exterior walls have had two primer coats on the front and rear wall, while the side walls have had a single primer coat. Today I have carried on painting the inside. The roof is almost done along with three walls. The left side window wall is now left to do. This is first coat of course, so all to do again for the second coat....But hopefully all this effort will be repaid in the long term. I have been very taken with the 1950's colour photo kindly posted by Baggies1961. I keep going back to it time and time again. Interesting to see how tree growth affects the site over a 20 year period. I am off to the NEC Warley show tomorrow. The Heljan Collect 0-6-0 Goods sounds a welcome announcement and is certainly of interest to me, whenever it turns up. Cheers, Ade.
  13. Thanks for the photo! I had not seen it before, brilliant. Managed to get a coat of preservative on the outside of the cabin today. Cheers, Ade.
  14. I don't see why not? Looks fine to me. Cheers, Ade.
  15. Hi Andy, yes the roof is insulated on the outside with foam and chipboard. The walls are already 45mm thick. The floor is insulated. It soon gets warm with just one heater plugged in. Looking forwards to getting all this building work finished and finally getting some modelling done. Should get some more painting done tomorrow. Cheers, Ade.
  16. Looks nice and organised now. Cheers, Ade.
  17. Spent the day painting with the new Osmo paint. I like it very much. It goes on easy and covers really well. It smells strong but I don't mind that. I have been working inside as it was too wet to start the exterior. Had a good day with the heater on and the music cranked up. I have been doing the trim bits, barge boards etc this morning, then this afternoon I started the ceiling in the end of the cabin. Just taken a quick snap in the dark just to give you some idea of what it looks like with one coat. Cheers, Ade.
  18. Hi Kevin, all are nice shots. I like number 2 best of all. Cheers, Ade.
  19. Thanks Colin. Our Sparky told me about it (He uses it on his summerhouse) and since then I have read up about it and taken the plunge today. Cheers, Ade.
  20. Hi Chris, no Lez really did not like those colours and given she has been so good about it all, I have gone for chocolate and cream. Cheers, Ade.
