  1. After blowing all week the wind finally dropped at the same time as the chassis was ready for final test assembly. Halfords satan black as ever does a cracking job. Touch dry in 15mins and blends in with HD original paint very well. But now, as it's not raining for once, progress will have to stop while I do some work in the garden.
  2. Thanks @jimwal After reading your post I remembered I had some magnet clamps. Bit of jiggling and then 'snap'.
  3. 2 HAL roofs; Now soaking in paint stripper.
  4. A question on the N2 chassis motor bottom bearing. I'm reworking one and got to the cleaning and painting stage. Previous chassis I've done the bottom ball bearing has been embedded but come out after degreasing and a gentle prod with a screw driver. This one won't shift even after degreasing, brake cleaner, soaking with meths, prodding, and waving a magnet at it. I'm erring on leaving it in place and masking off. Anyone had experiences that would suggest this is a bad plan? My only option really now would be to push the whole cup out. Could the ball have been pinched in place in the cup during assembly?
  5. Pickup mount done; Tang holds it in place; Ignore the tape. It's protecting the bottom bearing.
  6. @cypherman I have an answer for you! I opened out the chassis hole slightly to match some brass tube I had. I then reemed and tapped the tube before gluing it in. In reality I needed some thicker tube as this ended up being more of a helicoil but we will see how it holds up.
  7. Not selling but I might suggest you post this in collectable and vintage. We recently had a layout of this stuff at a show.
  8. That Hornby Dublo bridge is showing it's years, all mine are yellow! Is it an optical illusion or is it sized to clear the track when installed at ground level but has been put on the platforms making it a lot higher?
  9. We got that downpour inland this morning. He was right to avoid it! Great photo.
  10. Thanks @TinTracks They are drawing pins found in a draw. And yes they are for the 4-4-2. I got some paxolin at the weekend so my next job is to mount the pick up. I hope to have it running by the end of April - we shall see! Limited progress since the last post, and nothing photo worthy, but I was out at a show at the weekend running a layout;
  11. until

    Hall all set this evening ready for the layouts to go out in the morning. Anyone there I'll be on the Triang Battle Space. Come say hello!
  12. Pick-up ready to go on after the screw hole is reamed out.
  13. In brass shim you could roll a 90 degree on a sheet then cut back to form the lip then cut into lengths to make the sides. In plastic use material thick enough to creat the full external radius. If you have the tank quite full you only need scallop the inside as far as the water level.
  14. Hand up here. That was me, although probably amongst others. Not finished it yet though and photos are on my old phone, but it seems that post is one of the few still with it's photos;
  15. Do the edges have a lip to them or are they smooth please?
  16. Good viewing for Ffesti lovers;

  17. O you got the phone call from Ben Sulayem!
  18. Hope to see you on the Sunday in that case! Glad to see this is getting a home (and somewhere to run without the precipitous drop!)
  19. I have been intending on posting this as it's own thread but it seems to fit in with the general themes here. Apologies to the OP if you feel this is thread drift. I will hide if requested. I only have interest in DCC for the possibility of having stayalive. Hence cheap DCC is quite appealing. Even better if day to day operation can be as near DC as far as interface is concerned. I have built car ignition control modules successfully so nailing things together is ok however designing them is well beyond me!
  20. Most telling part of that article; "The Renault engine is at a 20 to 30 horsepower disadvantage to rivals, according to the governing FIA, with development frozen until 2026 when a new power unit is introduced." It's like hosing down the 100m track, but one countries lane only, by regulation at every event.
  21. I hope this results in Joss being banned from the RB garages. It seems the more probable outcome. I would be interested to see what Max does once distanced from that influence. I see that some here are referencing the messages but I note that the UK media are not even hinting at the content. I got the distinct impression there is a strong suspicion that they are made up. Given footballers texts get plastered everywhere there must be some serious doubts about what has been shared.
  22. Don't know about the last but the reviews for the latest Drive To Survive are dire. They are saying what I always thought but that's what grew the US audience and another season like last will have them switching off again. Watched the Daytona 500 last week and it had far more interest and better racing.
  23. Leclerc beaten turn 1 race 1. Had outside to be inside in turn 2 but braked because he knew crashstappen wouldn't give him room. No reason for Max to give him room at any point through the rest of the season now.
  24. Fit a swivel gator and then you can't see it. Although it does then dent your confidence after wading, no oil is coming out but did water go in... SIII 109
  25. Two too many N2's?IMG_20240301_184943852_HDR3.jpg.36ee516e85dc867a34b9b74a6f266645.jpg

    And that's just the ones that are together. 50% runners though, others tbc.
