  1. And it was seeing this http://www.brma.org.au/BRMA Galleries/British/SA Layout - 1141 - Wellingford and Bakewell Bridge Railway/SA - 1141 - Wellingford and Bakewell Bridge Railway - More Information/SA - 1141 - Wellingford and Bakewell Bridge Railway - TCH.html that inspired me to do that turnout on the liftup
  2. I have seen a lot of turnouts across joins & I even did one.
  3. Have you considered Tillig trackwork? https://www.tillig.com/eng/Elite_Gleissysteme.html
  4. Can I suggest you contact DCCconcepts themselves? sales@dccconcepts.com Then you can post the answer here for any other modellers having simlar problems.
  5. This is where a drawing of track plan & what is connected to what , would be helpful for us to be able to comment.
  6. Actually, you only need one resistor in either power feed wire.
  7. My layout normally uses 5 controllers at the same time as that is how many are people operating on it & the other 5 layouts I am involved are also 4 to 7 controllers/operators all at the same time.
  8. Yes, that would be the way I would go, use their expertise.. But I know locally here in South Australia a "modeller" who got another modeller to build his layout, gave him the size & very basic info & when it was finished, he couldn't run it easily as he didn't understand the control panel & when I asked him, "didn't you say to the builder what you wanted ? " . his answer " well he is modeller too so should know what I needed as aren't all layout controls the same? "
  9. I wonder how far railway/railroad companies have to go to protect the public from the publics lack of personal responsibility / ignorance by children & adults. Level crossings of rail & road are good examples - nothing stopping the public from accessing rail lines at those points especially where there are boom gates to stop ( ? ) road traffic but don't stop pedestrians. I may seem callous/cold but if anyone trespasses on other peoples property & are injured or worse, my sympathy level is real low for the victim & very high for a train driver for example.
  10. I often re-programme on the main in doing altering Speed CV's without taking other locos off as I always indicate what loco number I want to alter - I use NCE so that maybe different than other brands. Ron
  11. You do know that you can wire that dead frog to a switch associated with either a turnout motor or a manual rod method.?
  12. This is the original plan with the bottom track becoming a through running track.
  13. I remember those type of turnouts , yes Roco & Lifelike had them and were insulfrog Atlas make Code 83 and their turnouts may do the same https://shop.atlasrr.com/c-497-h930.aspx
  14. Thanks for that Limerick Junction info Now to find one that did the reversing for goods trains anywhere in UK & or Eire
  15. Does anyone know of a station in the UK that is off the mainline similar to this ?- the red is the mainline meaning trains have to back in or out depending on the direction. Actual plan is not a necessity , just the modus operadi Ron
  16. And talgo trucks/bogies are OK for pulling usually but not ideal for pushing https://en.mimi.hu/modelrailroad/talgo.html
  17. I use decoders from many different manufacturers with my NCE command station OK - that is the concept that Lenz started years ago. And a modeller her in South Australia using Lenz & railroad & Co software, crteae an automatic shunting layout, even to the extend of remote uncoupling of Kadee couplings
  18. David, I guess is depends on the current capacity of the microswitch - on my DCC layout, a short circuit is reduced to about 1.75Amps and is cleared within 10 seconds. And even on my DC layouts - still kept to about 1.75A as each of my DC supplies per cab were 2Amp units.
  19. I do have circuit for diode matrix & stall motors - found on the internet in 2007 & the actual website is no longer accessible. DIODE MATRIX MADE EASY.docx when you open the attachment, you will need to cursor down part the blank area to get to more info
  20. While this page covers many things - work your way down & you will see some wiring diagrams using pushbuttons, toggles & it shows the Peco PL26 http://www.talkingelectronics.com/projects/CDU - overview/CDU - Overview.html and of course there is the One-wire circuit https://postimg.cc/bG569TC4 https://postimg.cc/gXr90Z5y
  21. True Phil, that was an error on my part. On my layout fishplates only need to carry 1.75amps because any short, I have the car globe in series which reduces maximum current to about 1.75A, and once the globe lights up, across the globe is full wave bridge rectifier that feeds as buzzer so not only a visual indication of a short but an audible indication. That section can then be switched off immediately leaving the rest of the layout ( 4 other sections) to keep running.
  22. A 5amp DCC system doesn't mean that 5 amps flow through fishplates - only what is needed to satisfy moving a loco.
