I don't know what's wrong with some of you. Bradford Exchange's reputation is known world-wide and i certainly don't regret buying off them back in 2016. To this day it's makes up the centerpiece of my layout and this time next year I will have paid it off.๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ‘

It's definitely Bradford Exchange so they obviously just modified it to get the Queen one Prototype queen loco and with 18 installments at 89.98 each, the EBay one is rather a bargain. At least 800 pounds worth there.๐Ÿ˜‰

Still annoyed that you couldn't quite afford the Bradford Exchange Queen Elizabeth memorial locomotive? Well now get the exact same locomotive and coaches for Christmas* 213 shopping days left *Does not include Queen, flags or coin stuck on front.

I don't think their rogues to be honest, but if you are buying model railways stuff you have to buy low and sell high as it's pointless doing it otherwise and I don't think anyone here would try offloading their stuff on Hattons because you know you'd get a better deal elsewhere. Getting naive sellers to approach you is why they advertise as it cuts out the competition. A friend of mine's father died and his daughter got an offer for his "toy trains" of 600 pounds from a dealer. Now she was more than happy with that but I managed to persuade her to let me sell it for her FOC and with a third of it still to sell she 's made double that so the dealer was looking at a grand plus profit easily. Good luck to him but if he had made a half decent offer with a fair profit for himself I wouldn't have butted in, but....greed.. That said there is bargains on Hattons no doubt but there pricing system is a constant source of amusement with wrecks going for more than runners. As an example, loads of HD 3 rails BR tanks on there, varying condition, some non runners, some poor runners ranging from 23 pounds to 35. This is apparently one of the better ones๐Ÿ˜‚ so either they've lost track of what they're selling stuff for or they're operating on some other profit framework. But yes it's always worth a look for pricing oddities. Please wear eye protection

Could be a predictive text typo on Mopok I guess??

What I don't get and maybe I'm being thick here is how has it got a product rating? You click on the stars and it gives random reviews of other sellers, selling other stuff, so has this seller just nicked a product code to use?

Seems slightly overpriced and I'm not sure where Mayfair comes into it but you do get a cannon Bid before it's gone

Yeah that was my thoughts but a Google search and the brush springs and magnet look wrong. I know one of these has passed through my hands in the last 5 years as I remember servicing it but the only trix I can remember was an old 3 rail GWR tank ?

It's not an X04. It's bugging me as I've seen those brush springs before. Some sort of chassis taken from a HO loco?

In the tradition of eBay sending me a best offer on everything I look at on this thread. I've now received a discount of 3,500 pounds on the dismantled wagon๐Ÿ˜‚ waiting to hear back from the seller if he's willing to convert it to OO gauge.

Went for 170 pounds though.๐Ÿ˜ฏ how someone can look at the paint job near the chimney and go "yep, I couldn't do a better job myself, here's my money" is beyond my understanding.

This listing confused me for a while but then I realised it's aimed at the growing number of model railway label collectors. Unikque opprotubtity

Well I was going by the times of the bids and even I'm not that hammered at mid-day. Plus Rampton secure hospital doesn't allow internet access.. My own "theory" is its being bid on by the partners of royalty loving modellers who have no idea of the horrors that await them๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Yep I looked at his listings and thought he had some good stuff and then he comes up with that abomination. It's basically a 7 year old's school project for the Coronation with tat stuck on the body, and the numbering๐Ÿ˜‚. And yet seemingly sane and sober people have bid it up to 94 pounds!

To be fair, it's not often you get this sort of opprotubtity..

Actually, it's a very rare last attempt from Coopercraft to get the injection moulding machine to work properly.

It was best offer accepted, so considering another one went for 600(best offer), I doubt he got that price.. Still...... *starts designing cut 'n shut Paddington Blue Pullman*

For the sake of fairness, Peterspares have altered some (not all) of their listings from the 5 postage. Whether it was a mistake or they had complaints I don't know

    EBay madness

Well yeah, if it's something you can't get elsewhere then you pay your money and take your choice. I've paid 7 pounds postage on a 3.50 small parcel before because I wanted the item, but I'm not sure I'd pay 17.50 which is his markup % wise on small items. Just strikes me as particularly cynical on his part that he thinks people won't notice because of the lower overall cost

    Just a bit of sarcasm.๐Ÿ˜‰

I don't mind sellers covering their costs and making a markup but 400% on postage is a bit much. It's not like he sends out the stuff with incredibly sturdy packaging as it is. The problem is spares are the base inflation on Ebay and why a complete 2nd hand loco goes for a 10 pounds more because no-one wants to pay 20 pounds for a buffer and a missing coupling so this kind of selling will eventually effect everyone. The trouble is people don't look half the time because he's become the go-to to get parts when the reality from my experience is he's very expensive. I paid 6 pounds including postage for 4 large sheets of transfers including numbers and linings the other night, and he's selling 3 cabside numbers for more than that?๐Ÿ˜‚

Like to give a shout-out to Peterspares who seem to be taking part in the ebay postage scam. 1 sheet of transfers? 5 pounds postage to you mate. How are they sending this stuff out? Same day delivery? But look at his listings and larger stuff is 2.50?! He's been getting progressively worse to the point I won't use him anymore and try to use his rivals.
  25. Funny but the junk dealers are probably my favourite type of sellers on Ebay. For one you know they have no real knowledge of the stuff so non-runners are unlikely to have even been tested properly while the knowledgeable sellers could be trying to palm off a load of non running wrecks. The other thing is they just want to move the stuff on asap as long as they make their profit. I got a joblot the last week for 60 pounds for 7 locos. Now individually at the bare minimum, they were worth 90 pounds, if the auction went to the end probably over a 100 given the mental prices things are going for, but he just wanted them shifted at a profit so a best offer secured them.๐Ÿ‘
