Just thought that you would like to know that our shipment has arrived in port, just waiting for customs to clear it now. No, we don't know the name of the HMRC customs officer who will sign off on the shipment.

Just waiting on the next sample to arrive. Once it does, hopefully we can move forward and sign off on it.

To clear some of this up, no, we aren't divulging the name of the ship. We hope to have all of your tracking information out within a week or two, and we will let everyone know once its left the ship, but until then we all have to be patient and wait, us included. We don't like the waiting any more than anyone here, but that's the circumstances right now. It is coming, we promise you, just hold on.

My original post was saying how unreasonable it would be for me to expect an EP already. Was simply curious as to how things were going with the uptake
Tooling hasn't even started yet. EP's are still quite a ways off. Once we have our CADs polished and primed, we can show those off.

Ha ha, yes. Apparently models have to be shipped to the UK. I was quite surprised, looking at the site, that despite prices being GBP and the web address incorporating ".co.uk", their address is Edmonton Alberta. Still Rapido are doing sterling work.

Can anyone tell me if they take payment upfront or at the time of despatch. On checkout you have to tick 'I have read the T&C's' box yet there are none to read?
It's pre order in advance. We are only making enough to cover orders, so we won't be holding stock.

I’d really like to order one, but all I get when I try and get to the kr models website is a “HTTP error 500”...
It's working fine now, just shear volume of traffic.

Might I just ask a question in case I've missed it somewhere earlier.
Will there be enough room to allow for rewheeling to suit P4/18.83mm gauge? Thanks.
This is all part of the design process.

I see its now appearing on the website to place orders.
Couple of questions for KR Models:
- What is the deal with numbers, as there's no mention on the website of numbering, will there be transfers included for the customer to choose their own number?
- Also, no mention of lining on any livery, apart form a picture of 36001 in grey with lining and no crests and a picture of it with crests and no lining.
Could these be clarified as in both cases its a bit vague?
Sure, I can answer your questions for you.
The numbering available will be 36001 with all the available liveries.
Prototype Grey no crests will be the lined livery, the others will not be.

Any word? I was told it was going on sale on Monday
We are currently experiencing technical difficulties with the website. We are working tirelessly to fix them. Unfortunately, this means that we cant go live with the Leader at this moment, but as soon as we can we will be sending out an email.

Will we see some decorated EP samples at some point?
Yes, you will. We currently don't have an ETA on that, but hopefully it won't be too far away.

When are the GT3s expected to ship in the UK ?
They should be in the country by the end of the month, hoping nothing goes wrong. Once they are, we will be sending out a general email, as well as tracking information for each customer.

We don't, which is why we didnt expect one to begin with. But common decency, admitting when you're wrong, and basic integrity should be a given.
18 minutes ago, chris p bacon said:Your first model is not yet in the hands of those that ordered and paid for it.
Except for those who have received it.
13 minutes ago, chris p bacon said:There have been a couple of pictures posted by overseas purchasers and AY
And videos from customers, and reviews from magazines, and the video from Hornby.....but those dont fit into your narrative, do they?
14 minutes ago, chris p bacon said:should have been easily addressed during CAD.
Do you have the faintest idea how hard it is to get a model like this 100% right with no existing schematics, blueprints, or functional examples out in the world? We did the best that we could with what we had, and yes, we did have to take some liberties given the situation with the hubcaps. But not everything is present on a CAD, the factory can make mistakes, we can make mistakes, and we have only tried our hardest to recreate the GT3 as close to as it was when it still existed.
To be quite frank, I'm not surprised you've chosen to have an issue with that comment, given how you haven't had a single positive thing to say throughout this entire thread. You had swore blind that we wouldn't deliver a model, you had such confidence that we were just another DJ in the making, and now that we have completed the model and (not all) customers have the model in their hands, you STILL stand by your guns that we are just another problem. Ill give you one thing, we do still have a lot to learn, and we still have a long road ahead of us. But I still expected you to at least admit that you were wrong regarding the validity of what we set out to do. So, as I said last time I had to respond to you in such a manner, "don't lecture us on respect when you had none for us from the very beginning."
I'm no longer replying to you, I'm not going to engage with someone again who very clearly has only had a bone to pick with us for what ever reason from the beginning.
As I've stated in the past, if anyone would like to make suggestions, have any constructive criticism, or would like me to answer any questions or queries about anything that we are involved in, my email address is michael@krmodels.co.uk, and if you want to call me I do have a UK number and you only have to ask.

PS looking forward to receiving my GT3.
Neither of us really expect an apology, but we at least expected some dignity from those who slated us from the very conception of the project, some integrity. Regardless, it isnt going to slow us down, we are going to continue to make models, and we are going to continue to enjoy doing it.

No doubt the then-very-fresh memories of DJM and its demise with lots of punter money made people nervous, but that's not the same as actually rubbishing you without a shred of evidence. I am extremely glad to see the final product getting thumbs up all round, and hope your further ventures enjoy the same success.
Its definitely been an uphill battle with trying to deal with being painted by the same brush as them, trying to break away and prove to people that we are not anything like him, we have no ambitions to be anything like him, and we will always strive to be better than him.
We had plenty of doubters along the way, we had people who believed in us but were understandably critical, and we had people who trusted us from the very beginning. And from both of us at KR Models, we would like to thank everyone who supported and trusted us to get us this far. We really could not have done it without you. We hope to continue making models you all love for a good while, and we hope to see more of you in the future.

I'm always a little skeptical of a new project from a new manufacture, especially one this ambitious, for example I didn't want anything from Accurascale until I'd held one of their 24 tonners by myself. Nonetheless part of being a skeptic is admitting your wrong when evidence is presented and I must admit from what I've seen you have met your objectives and more. I certainly feel better about putting down for a Leader when I've seen this quality. I just wish I could've also gotten a GT3 of my own (wink-wink)
ScR
Put your name down for the 2nd production run. It is going ahead. We'll delivery the 1st run, then open the order book.

We have noticed that all the negative comments and false accusations that we have got on here, we have actually managed to produce what we set out to do. It's so strange that those people and you know who you are as the comments are still here, have not apologised or said even "well done, we were wrong".

Looks like this bit of detail is missing from above the bogie? I think it was present on previous samples?
Edit: Should say I wouldn't be surprised If this caused a few issues with tighter curves as I spotted the bogie lifting on curves in one of KR's initial running videos so would understand if it was left off for that reason.
They should be fitted as they are on the samples. Not sure how that happened.

Just got an email from KR models saying that the order book for the leaders will be open in fed and that both grey and black liveries will be available.
Quick question for KR - is the grey livery the early crest grey (loco’s official ‘portrait’) or the lined grey she ran with in her trials without the crest?
We hope to offer both versions.
