  1. Just had a bit of a ruck with British gas on this kind of thing, their "exciting new online account" malarkey, after a couple of laborious contacts with their outsourced "customer service" droids somewhere in the far flung orient, I managed to get back to a nice bill, sent thru the post, that I can pay with cash at the post office, as I've always done quite satisfactorily. Paid in late, after the due date, purely as they couldn't /wouldn't send the physical bill without a load of nagging from myself.
  2. They don't want you to fix anything on a car yourself, they want to simply plug it into a computer at the main dealership, probably change a couple of little wicky wicky 50p made in China "sensor" things and say, "that'll be £1015.85 plus vat please.....
  3. Yikes.. Tried it once, never again! 😁
  4. Beige is definitely an "old git" car colour 😁. I used to quite like the gold (and the bronze) they did on mk3 Cortinas, and the vinyl roof of course, which also suited the mk1 Escort well especially with bright yellow !
  5. Nice.. (particularly the tree at the front) but looks like it could do with some weathering.. 😁
  6. I've tried a few improvised stairs and ramps for senior pooches, they never even try to use them and just try and get up on whatever the usual way, and of course ask for the old fashioned assistance from me..
  7. Shoulda just done my trick of throwing hot water over the windscreen a couple of times, then again don't moan at me if it cracks, I'll only say... "should've got an old land rover mate.." 😁
  8. I'd just do 'em in faded & grubby stained blue overalls and black greasetop hats myself...
  9. Looking for a bit of extra dosh?.. You'd be perfect on the door at the Sherlock Holmes museum 221b Baker street 😁
  10. I'm sure there was a mecca bingo in Eltham still, when I drove through it in the last year or two. Edit, I just looked on tinternet and yes it's still going, opens soon too apparently if you fancy a morning "eyes down look in" ... 😁
  11. According to my grandad, great kudos was to be had amongst "the lads" of the day (early 20th cent) if you scored the "goal" of knocking a policeman's helmet off (and did a bunk without being collared of course)
  12. You could of course "fudge it" and use some weathering to make an kind of compromise 😉
  13. Hmm.. I can think of a few people whose getting properly squished by a motor would be a positive outcome for the rest of us...
  14. I've actually binned loads of twin and earth fairly recently, from some odd job I did, I can however blag quite a bit if required, I'll give your method a try certainly
  15. I was in one once, aged about 7 maybe, and bizarrely enough I was supposed to be a caveman, with a string of largish fish I'd presumably caught (they were cut out of foam rubber) how this character was supposed to, in any version of reality, fit in to the usual story I have no idea to this day..
  16. Having just had a quick shufti on Google & evilbay etc I'm leaning towards plastruct or evergreen 0.8mm styrene rod at the mo, as seemingly an easy and economical option...
  17. The Roman scaffolders "outfit" would no doubt attract a certain amount of ribaldry these days....
  18. What a fascinating and unique idea for a layout / diorama. The brooding sky backscene is awesome imho too..
  19. 1st pic looked like a goat to me, but then again I'll eat anything (within reason)
  20. At least no one's said... "What's a Greek urn...? "
  21. You can get a concrete statue of a semi naked geezer holding his arm up or whatever at any decent garden centre I believe...
  22. I just phoned Bachmann spares recently and ordered some bits there and then, they were very helpful in my experience, and can very likely tell you on the spot if they can help with your requirements.
