  1. No. 9pm Eastern Daylight Saving Time.
  2. Steve, This is a ridiculously convoluted process.I clicked on P152 and it takes me to some competition page where it asks for a subscriber number of which I have no idea. Please just send my glasses to 42 Hollywood Crescent North Willoughby 2068 Australia.Thank you.
  3. Thanks Tony that is most helpful.I too would have preferred a DJH kit but I only paid 75 pounds for the PDK kit and it was from a fellow in Oz, so as well postage costs were considerable lower than from the UK..
  4. Tony, Could I trouble you for some advice? I have just acquired a PDK A2/3 kit on eBay and would be interested to hear if you have had experience with this kit and if you encountered any problems or issues with it. .Also should the tender wheels be spoke or disc? Markits show the complete A2 wheel set as having spoked wheels. Looking forward to meeting you in Sydney next year.
  5. At 12,000 miles removed from Warley, ditto.
  6. This is good news. I have been waiting for the 2 Car set having built the parcels van some seven years ago. I met him in 2013 at Raillex NE when I collected my J77 kit.
  7. With a very small amount of money. That is as the cost of a shoestring -very little.
  8. Andrew, some further information regarding the A5/1 kit. I built one about 5 years ago and have just got round to painting, lining and numbering it(as early BR 69830) .Like many I was ignorant of the problem with the bunker width, which in my case roughly measured is between 29.5mm and 30mm. However I have another one in the build queue and on investigating that I find the bunker width on the etch and the accompanying drawing is 31.5 and a tiny bit, probably as on yours 31.58. Moreover all the etches are in nickle silver not brass perhaps suggesting that at some point the error was picked up and corrected. Both kits were purchased on eBay so it is impossible to have even an educated guess as to their year of manufacture. One clue might be that the built one with the narrower bunker came in a box with a photo of the locomotive but the other does not have a photo. Hopefully when I complete the second I will one accurate A5/1.
  9. Hi Dan, I have built one and have another to do. You should have a go at the chassis as it is quite straightforward with no outside cylinders or valve gear to contend with. Mine runs very smoothly with a Mashima 1420 and a Comet two stage gear box. The B12 has 6' 6" driving wheels while the A5's are 5'7", so I would think that rules it out! Further information on LNER locos can be found at https://www.lner.info/locos/locos.php.
  10. Here is my repaint of an early Bachmann Thompson.I have done two more which run in a rake with Gresleys in teak but with BR branding and usually hauled by Merlin in experimental dark blue.Is it authentic,I don't know but Rule 1 applies.
  11. Quote I have ordered some buffer stops from Lanarkshire models which should arrive soon. An excellent choice. They are a great product. Good to meet you at John's on Saturday.
  12. I have often encountered this problem with etched loco and tender frames. I enlarge the holes with an appropriate sized broach. Work carefully and slowly checking the fit of the bearings as you go.It is certainly worth persevering with the inside frames for the reasons already stated.
  13. I laid my first yard of SMP in 1973 and have never regretted using it on all my subsequent layouts, including two in EM.
  14. Quote: Oh and I forgot the workspace shrinks until there is only just the very minimum space in which it is possible to do anything at all! ArthurK Is this another version of Parkinson's Law?
  15. Very sad to hear this. Many years ago I built his Q5 and J77 kits in EM.
  16. I have also encountered the same problem and have sent an email to Pocketmags. This comes on top of problems with the July issue, which are now corrected. As you said we await a fix. It does seem that there has been a loss of quality control recently.
  17. Their web site is showing more than 10 36-027 which are short reach.
  18. Quote: It's a D&S kit. The instructions are not very clear but I think the left-hand battery box needs to be removed. Presently I only have photographs of the gas fitted examples, however, I should be receiving some more images soon. I will also have to make up some additional compartment partitions, as not enough are supplied in the kit. The existing ones will provide a template. Tony, you asked me a couple of pages back if I had any information on the battery box positions on the NER third. Unfortunately no, and like you I built mine according to the instructions. It is a pity that Danny does not include a few more partitions.
  19. Thanks Tony for this information. It is good news for those of us with a stock of unbuilt kits needing motors and gearboxes. The demise of Mashima motors was a wake call to acquire all the extras needed to complete a locomotive kit at the time of its purchase.
