  1. Plug in removable LED lamps have been around years. I guess the problem is mounting them on vertical lamp irons where they need to be semi-permanently secured and can't be moved around? Trix Ho
  2. I use spell check online and Bulleid turns red despite being capitalised. Clicking right suggests alternatives. Seems a good system because no changes are automatically made.
  3. Anyone know what the small square thing is under the left window?
  4. I think this might be the shade of green Marklin Trix have used. Being finished in satin on the model not gloss will darken it a touch https://www.youtube.com/shorts/OOlVijPBRC4
  5. The RRP on the Trix website is 589 euro (£515) although it sold out on pre-order at the factory some time back as did the Marklin version. https://www.trix.de/de/produkte/details/article/22886 Some Dublo models have been discounted on eBay by dealers the A3 being one of them. The Scotsman market must be saturated by now!
  6. It's just regular Marklin-Trix pricing for a medium large steam loco not a collectors piece as such. 445 euros is the cheapest dealer price I've seen. The equivalent would be the metal bodied Hornby Dublo but that doesn't appear to have a metal tender or metal driving wheel spokes. How much would the current Dublo be with lights, smoke and sound?
  7. I think it's the Hornby that is a bit out. P4 scale track gauge of 18.83 mm would sort it out.
  8. Jim at Hovermotion Towers has a short clip up showing the Trix version pulling 9 Fleichmann Ho Mk1 coaches
  9. The 1948 CC2 goods train photo in blue? https://sremg.org.uk/electric/class70.shtml
  10. I haven't seen any reviews of the loco yet, I wonder if the British magazines will do one?
  11. Is CC2 with the post war British Railways lettering finished in experimental blue? https://sremg.org.uk/electric/class70.shtml FYE would be another variation batch 2 could offer
  12. Flywheels on models are often dynamically balanced. Look closely and you can see small indents where metal has been removed.
  13. Not a bad price as long as you are not in the UK or Russia... Posts everywhere from Kazakhstan to Yemen https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/386230487180
  14. I don't think the original L&M livestock wagons were in service long enough to be photographed. There may be photos of them lurking elsewhere in later years though. Paris 1838. With an exposure of over a minute only the man standing still having his shoes shined lived on for posterity...
  15. Is the chimney height required for the smoke unit to function?
  16. I don't understand why the LED isn't in the lamp. My Trix Ho lamp units just unplug if you don't want them or you can turn them off on the CV. The arrangement on the Marklin-Trix A3 current era looks similar as shown in this short video. The lamps have socket prongs.
  17. A well known Canadian dealers seems to sell them at circa $1600. Worth it IMHO given the amount of Korean brass work involved! What other OO loco models did Golden Age actually make make before going belly up?
  18. Only length over buffers 245 mm Parts Pdf. 11aabc635c7925fe8f013e89bdee9e5e1692186399.pdf
  19. The factory in China must shake their heads in wonderment at a prototype festooned with electric lamps being modeled by Hornby as non-operational.
  20. Removable LED lamps have been around a long time in RTR. My Trix Ho K-class is 22 years old. The front and rear lamps just plug in. When the LED burn out the replacement lamps are cheap to buy.
  21. The current Hornby is pretty much spot on
  22. To distinguish between a place and a thing it should be City of London locomotives. The man on the top of the Clapham omnibus would look askance at anyone saying "City of Londons" in reference to an object....
  23. Why? There is no plural possessive form involved. It should be Cities of London...
