  1. Only just realised that I forgot to put my pictures up from the recent railtour, I know there's a thread dedicated to that but I don't think it hurts to have them here instead! 21/12/2019 - 'West Riding Limited' Leeds - London KX Leeds - 43206 43312 Retford - 43206 43312 - not a chance of me being able to get through the crowd here! The departure board; a nice touch in my opinion. London King's Cross - 43312 alongside 800210 43206 My earliest memories of HSTs on the East Coast is seeing them as a kid at Leeds during GNER days alongside the 91s and Eurostars; very vaguely remembering being terrified of the Valenta engines! They have always been a personal favourite and I enjoyed every minute of a fantastic day out. Jack
  2. Interesting that 010 is now being used on these, I'm sure it was one of the power cars that Hull Trains hired earlier in the year. Jack
  3. Class 91s and MkIV DVTs, 21/12/19 Leeds - 91128 Intercity 50 Amongst the crowds waiting for the HST, 91111 hauls failed 91106 into Leeds 91111 For the Fallen 91111 with 43206 91106 MkIV DVT 82218, alongside 144001 Peterborough - 91128 Intercity 50 MkIV DVT 82212 Bounds Green - 82215 (I think!) London King's Cross - Left to right - 91105, 91112, 91116. Having never previously visited KX, and being unlikely to again in the time the 91s have left, I felt quite lucky to have the opportunity to photograph several, without any Azumas interfering! 91112 and 91116 91109 Sir Bobby Robson, note the oversized '09' Left to right - 43312, MkIV DVT 82225, 801111, and just visible is MkIV DVT 82207 91109 Sir Bobby Robson alongside 801109 82225, with the HST having now left for Craigentinny as an ECS 801111 (paired with 801109), and 82207 Had a great day out on the HST Farewell Tour, and it was made a bit more special by avoiding Azumas to return to Leeds behind a 91, that being 91109 Sir Bobby Robson / 82225. Jack
  4. Living alongside the Sheffield - Barnsley line means that, whilst growing up, seeing a 142, 144, 150, 158 and occasionally a 153 has become part of everyday life for me. However, despite photographing and filming them in places such as Doncaster, Leeds and York, photographing them closer to home was never something I've really done. However, with the withdrawal of Pacers now well underway in the region I've decided to get a picture of one whenever there's a chance. So, run up to Christmas, and there's not been a 142 passed us for a couple of days to my knowledge, however 144s are continuing as usual. 5/12/19 - 144019 at Elsecar on a Sheffield - Huddersfield service. This route was almost exclusively a three-car 144, however from early October 158s became regular on it. It was a nice surprise to see these therefore make a bit of a comeback; at a guess it's probably 50/50 between the two classes on this service now. 10/12/19 - 144021 at Elsecar on a Huddersfield - Sheffield service 12/12/19 - 144019 at Barnsley on a Sheffield - Huddersfield service. Little bit off topic, but it's worth mentioning the slight alteration to Barnsley Interchange. For the festive period, the station has been rebranded "Barnsleigh Interchange", and it's one of a few stations that has been rebranded for Christmas, I think based on where they donate most to charity. 16/12/19 - 144023 at Meadowhall 144021 at Elsecar An unidentified 144 in the carriage siding complex immediately South of Sheffield 144023 at Sheffield 144013 at Sheffield 144007 at Sheffield 144008 (with 007 in the foreground) at Sheffield 144016 at Elsecar 18/12/19 - 144001 The Penistone Line Partnership at Elsecar... ... and then Barnsley, alongside 150204 The fairly rapid rate at which the 142s have disappeared from the line has given me a bit more incentive to make sure there is some evidence of Pacers on a line which they have dominated since their introduction. Cheers, Jack

  6. LNER and Cross Country 43s in York and Darlington, 7/12/19 43311 43321, 43378 was the other power car. 43290 passes in the opposite direction. 43314 and 43319 head into York. 43319 I can't remember for certain, but believe this was 43384 43301 Whilst in York I decided to have a quick visit to the NRM to have a look at recently acquired 43002 Sir Kenneth Grange, as I never crossed paths with it whilst on the Great Western. I must admit it looks very smart and although the split between paint and vinyl behind the cab is visible, I think the loco is presentable and serves it's purpose well. Jack
  7. Northern Pacers at York and Darlington, 7/8/19 142078 142067 142030 and 142091 144003 Jack
  8. Class 91s and Mk4s at York and Darlington, 7/12/19 91101 Flying Scotsman 91104 91104 sat alongside 144003. I think this photograph shows how sleek the design of a 91 is, especially next to a class which I've always considered to be a 'small' train. Mk4 DVT 82200 91105 91107 Skyfall Mk4 DVT 82208 91110 Battle of Britain Memorial Flight - being my personal favourite, due to being the first 91 I can remember riding behind (during a short spell in East Coast grey just before receiving it's unique livery), I was pleased to see passing members of the public stopping and admiring the loco and it's livery. 91113 91116 91124 Mk4 DVT 82204, alongside 801205 91126 Darlington Hippodrome 91132 Jack
  9. I think it was on Flickr, but a little while ago, not long after 43238 was painted all over red, I saw a photo inside I believe Craigentinny, with 43206 and another power car rubbed down. The tour hadn't been announced then, but putting two and two together, now makes sense I suppose. Jack
  10. It was running with 43290 and the set overall looked fairly clean. Kings Cross - York trains appear to have been HST dominant recently, if that's any help. Jack
  11. LNER Class 43s at Doncaster, 20/11/19 43290, formerly mtu - fascination of power 43314 43318 43310 43311 43208, formerly Lincolnshire Echo 43302 with HST speed record vinyl name 43299, having been recently repaired the front end is now red in places where it was white/black, making a big difference to the overall look. 43238 also now carries an all-over red livery, however I was unable to get a decent photo of this in the dark at speed. 43274 Spirit of Sunderland - to my knowledge the last LNER 43 to carry a cast nameplate Jack

  17. Class 91117 West Riding Limited, on it's last day of ECML service, is seen heading south from Doncaster for the final time working a LNER service, on Wednesday 25th September 2019. MK4 DVT 82209 leads the train South Although I tried my best to avoid people on the photos, I was amazed at how many people were stood at the North End of platforms 1/3 to see the locomotive for a final time. Jack

  21. Class 800104's (currently) southern-facing Driving Car, with recently applied 'LNER Tartan' vinyls. Seen at Doncaster on 5/8/19. 800110 and 43367 side-by-side, allowing a comparison of the front end of the new trains, and the trains that they are replacing. Jack
