  1. Accurascale already provide the benefits of a collectors club without the annual fee. The discounts and money back described above, the exclusive models and the behind the scenes information. All that’s missing is a pin badge nobody ever would wear and a branded biro
  2. Yes, I think you put it better than Hornby. Certainly more honesty. Railroad was a good idea in theory but it’s ended up as a collection of archaic models with a range of issues being sold at not much less than the cost of some higher quality products from other brands. Fingers crossed the new P2 does justice to the subject and doesn’t have any of the niggles that the last few Hornby products have been plagued with
  3. I think the word ‘unlike’ is missing, ie; “The early P2 was created to be part of the Railroad range and UNLIKE previous Railroad models the P2 was totally new”.
  4. I quite like the old tarts actually (speaking as a modeller of the present day, obviously)
  5. Even if it was as good as the Accurascale 37 (which I don’t think it will be) have you seen the price?! The basic version costs nearly the same as DCC sound from Accurascale. The sound fitted prices just go up from there. I’ve ordered four Accurascale 37 already and will order more from batch two
  6. Thanks for the heads up. I’m on the mailing list for the newsletter but hadn’t received it. A quick check in the junk folder and I’ve now found it
  7. Rails of Sheffield have sent an email out with an update on several Rapido projects. Included in it was this section on the Hunslet. I’m looking forward to Beatrice hopefully arriving this autumn
  8. I don’t know how many they had but all gone now so far as I can see
  9. I think you are right. From what AS have said they will do a run of Class 37, 55, 92, 31 and Manor every 18 to 36 months. I’d like one with the EPS logo on too. I ordered Ravel from Rails to get an SNCF version. Hopefully all major variants will get covered over the next few years
  10. Now you come to mention it I have been laying new, longer sidings……
  11. Great news Fran. I’m really looking forward to mine arriving. I’ve order 3/4 of the Lowlander and a TPE set. Those wheels look cool. These will be spectacular
  12. I knew you would have this covered. I’ve got the Deltic and it’s my new favourite model but I’m looking forward to the class 92 even more. The station announcements on the Deltic are pretty cool. Will these be a feature on other Accurascale DCC sound projects? (More appropriate for Caledonian Sleeper than freight obviously)
  13. But this model has been detailed. Are the sun visors factory fitted or part of the detailing project? Either way this is a great looking model
  14. That’s true. You’d also have to take liberties with reality as they were dragged from the DVT end -which on the model doesn’t have a coupler, meaning you’d have to drag from the Cl91 end
  15. Haven’t Accurascale tooled up both cast and fabricated bogies for the Class 37? If they were planning on producing the 50 in the future they may also have allowed for the differences in step location
  16. I’d not really seen a theme to Accurascales announcements. Deltic - ECML Class 92 - WCML, SE England, HS1 & Chunnel Class 37 - Everywhere Class 31 - I’m no expert but they got about a bit didn’t they? I’d buy either a 40 or 50 so long as current day mainline certified versions were an option. The 50 seems more viable due to shared bogies with previous releases and the wide choice of liveries.
  17. Just a quick question for Fran. I noticed that Revolution put the sun visor on their model. I know you guys worked together at an early stage in this project. Will you have the sun visor on your model? No problem if not (I’ve ordered three already) but would be a cool little detail.
  18. And the Accurascale 37425 ‘Concrete Bob’. It was used to drag 3 or 4 sets of LNER 225 from York to Neville Hill after disruption on the ECML
  19. Am I right in thinking Q3 is July-September? If so I think we are looking more at September for the 92s. I can’t wait!!
  20. A normal hauled coach from Accurascale or Bachmann are getting around the £70 mark. Then one vehicle in the unit will need to be motorised, DCC socket etc. If we use one Accurascale loco at £170 plus two coaches at £65 as a guide I’d expect and Accurascale 3 car multiple unit to be around the £300 mark
  21. I 100% agree with this. It’s a switch on the real thing so should be an on off function on the model. IRL the light may be switched on while the train is in motion. As you say if it was being used whilst stationary there’s no way it would go off at the split second it starts to move (the driver has other things on his mind at that point).
  22. No, I was disagreeing with him. I think he says things to try and either be dramatic or sound like he knows what he’s talking about. Generally he’s guessing at best. I am more than happy with the way Accurascale announces models. It gives plenty of time to pre order and pay for models. Personally I’m looking forward to future announcements as well as receiving some of the items I currently have on order.
  23. I can count the days I wait. I’d say tomorrow is day 1 as that’s when the first person is likely to get theirs. As mines coming from Locomotion this could take some time ……
