  1. Looking good. That’s the same four I’ve ordered
  2. Just waiting for Accurascale to announce the 73/9 (you know you want to) to complete the set.
  3. These just sort of crept up on me. I ordered mine ages ago and thought they would turn up some time in the autumn. I didn’t realise they were this close to release. Looking good though and should look great behind the 37/4s
  4. I work on the railway and my working week runs Sunday to Saturday. When I worked for BSM their working week started on a Wednesday!
  5. I’d be surprised if Bachmann aren’t already planning a production HST. Their spokesman talked more about the production sets than the prototypes during the presentation
  6. I think this is a great announcement. The HST prototype should be a very popular model and the engineering sample looked superb. I’ll be putting an order in for one of these.
  7. There are no ploughs on the 92. The detail part under the buffer beam is for the TVM 430 signalling system
  8. I got 419, 423 and 425 DCC ready - none of them came with the sound instructions. However both my class 92s did. I’m guessing they were supposed to be included with the 37s too but weren’t. I just downloaded the instructions from the Accurascale website
  9. At least they’ve noticed it’s fitted to the DCC ready model. Hornby magazine have said, for the Deltic, the 92 and the 37, that DCC sound is fitted with stay alive as an extra feature not found on DCC ready
  10. So that’s January 2024? I thought they would be out this year. I think I’ve got used to Bachmann announcing items and them arriving within weeks (I know these are legacy items from before when that policy started)
  11. Any idea on when these are due? Website still says January which seems optimistic
  12. I’ve had notifications that my sound chips are being posted. I ordered my 37s too late to get factory sound fitted so looking forward to adding the chips and getting the full Accurathrash experience
  13. It’s still in the rule book. The GBRF drivers on the Rylstone aggregate trains often do this when running around their trains at Skipton. They also often leave the cab doors open (which lots of modellers seem to think is unrealistic)
  14. Glad to see 37422. I don’t need another Class 37 but I’ll be placing an order for that one
  15. This sounds like a solid plan. Personally I’d love them to make a GWR Saint but having (so far) only done the Manor and J69 the GWR have had their go for now. Accurascale need a balanced range so it makes sense to go LMS or SR next. It’s also a good point on built in reasonable numbers. If we look at Accurascales Diesel and Electric range all have been of prototypes that have been in use for some sometime, operated over a wide area and have a range of detail and livery options. The J69 shows that they are applying the same thought process to steam locos. On that basis the 8F is a good shout. Time period 1935-1968, built during the war by companies other than LMS and with an operating range that stretches all the way to Iraq.
  16. I completely agreed with you that in some circumstances people will want to pay on delivery. However I think one of Accurascales strengths is offering a payment option to suit everyone. Ranging from order now pay latter to pay now and sit back and wait for delivery. There’s also a few ways to spread the cost rather than pay it all in one go. From a personal standpoint I’d rather pay up front so I don’t get a nasty surprise when several things I’ve ordered all turn up in the same pay period. I find it much easier to budget if I pay for them as I order them. Some of the other manufacturers make you pay for things upfront whilst others offer no choice but to put your name down for it and stump up the cash when it turns up (that would be fine if they could reliably say exactly when that would be!). I much prefer the Accurascale way of offering a payment method to suit everyone.
  17. Congratulations on your well deserved rewards. Truly pushing the boundaries and showing some other manufacturers how it’s done. I’ve ordered at least one of each loco you’ve announced so far, I think I might have a bit of an addiction! Keep them coming and just looking forward to what you will do next
  18. The class 92 drivers aren’t currently listed on the website. Will they be coming back soon? I’ve got a 92 awaiting a crew
  19. I couldn’t agree more. The 320-322 family seem an obvious choice. Wide geographical spread, used for many years and with an assortment of attractive liveries
  20. Each time I switch my layout on the tail lights at the loco end of my TPE set come one. I wave my magic wand and they go off. Then next time I switch the layout on the same thing happens again. If they are meant to latch, it’s not working on my set
  21. Mine was also missing the magnetic coupling. I borrowed a pair from the driving car and one of the standard class vehicles to try it out. It couples so close to the 68 that on a straight the buffers are touching and slightly depressed. On a 4th radius curve it causes a derailment. I then tried the Dellner magnetic coupler off the Caledonian sleepers and that is slightly better but still too short to avoid derailments. I’ve settled on the Bachmann bar coupler that looks like two hoses
  22. This is what I had in the accessory bag for my TPE Mk5s. I thought these came with a magnetic coupler for the loco like the ones bellow? I’m currently struggling with my set derailing but think it could be down to the couplers. I’ve tried tension lock and Roco and both have their issues
  23. I’m running on DCC. It just seems to be a constant light though - no flicker. Not sure if that’s down to decoder settings as I’ve not had much time to play with it yet
  24. Ive started running Beatrice in. Very impressed so far
  25. I model present day Yorkshire, primarily the Leeds - Skipton area. Either of these would get my money. TPE stuff has the advantage of covering a good area of the country, from coast to coast. The 195 is designed as a modular train meaning you could tool up three / four vehicles and then be able to produce the 195 as two car and three car plus the 331 as three car or four car. There is also the other units in this family such as the 196. With the intelligent tooling design Accurascale employ they could come up with a suite to cover these and then have units which again are wide ranging in their operation. I’d also think that Accurascale have a working relationship with the units builders, CAF, through the Mk5 project.
