  1. Whatever next! A passenger train. All adds to the variety. Good running session video. The low level shots are particularly effective. Looking forward to seeing the station area develop. Cheers David
  2. This is the basis of the next locomotive for Leuchars. It is a Bachmann Brassworks 04 which I must have bought about 20 years ago. I fitted it with sound back then and it has a pick up connection to a conflat wagon which I fitted pick ups to. Just needs to be repainted! Cheers David
  3. I would like to think I could finish it this summer but I am kidding myself! We are away for a month in July/ August on a post COVID post retirement trip of a lifetime, going to Banff then through the Rockies on the Rocky Mountaineer to Vancouver, then Vancouver Island to visit relatives, then Seattle, Sun Valley Idaho, then Denver then back to Calgary then home. You could call it our honeymoon since we have not been anywhere significant since we got married in the middle of Covid in 2020, in front of all of 6 people! So it is a two summer build. I want to get the ground supports, underframe, insulation and floor done this year including all underframe details steps etc. It is not apparent in the photo but I have already dug 12 of 18 holes required for the supports. Next year I will complete the frame, body and roof. Than it will be time to relocate the layouts. It'll be fun! Cheers David
  4. It came with a driver fortunately, though I would love to have had a go!
  5. Some progress of sorts. I finally got round to clearing the area the coach will sit, with a little bit of help!
  6. Lovely work. Really brings it to life. Cheers David
  7. Great idea, particularly the extended footbridge. Cheers David
  8. So , watched this week's video and last week's one after the other. Is that binge watching, not sure! All looking great Andy Cheers David
  9. I have not made the train yet. However I did make reasonable progress with the diorama of Embo in Gauge 3. A few things still to do but mostly finished. Cheers David
  10. Now ballasting is underway it is all looking very good. Cheers David
  11. Good pictures, and not seen before , thanks
  12. Hi Dave, I was not aware so will definitely check that out, thanks. The world of MOD railways is new to me. Cheers David
  13. Thanks for that link. I took a quick look and I shall certainly be joining. Cheers David
  14. I shàll certainly have a look at that. I have been modelling railways my whole life but the military aspect is new to me. I am certainly a novice when it comes to that! Cheers David
  15. Another great video Mr P. Amazing how your terraforming between the two loops has brought it all together. Cheers David
  16. Yes thanks I have that book. It has good photos of the front of the shed which I used when I made my drawing. Also last month's Back Track has a good article. I noted the surviving loco in Fife. There is also an ex Leuchars loco in Kent. I have been up in the loft looking through the pile of models. I have been buying model trains for over 40 years and there is all sorts of things up there in all sorts of scales some of which I have forgotten about. I have never sold any of it! I found a Bachmann Brassworks 04 which I must have bought 20 years ago. I shall repaint in RAF livery and name Motray Water. (Taking after the river name theme of the final two pairs of locomotives at Leuchars). The MOD did not have an 04, (there was one 03). I also have a Dapol 08 in BR blue which I will renumber to a Dundee West allocated loco and run it on the pretext of being a substitute for a failed loco. It did happen in the fifties when a couple of Y9's did perform the role for a brief time. I have a Hatton' s warwell and two VEA vans (used for munitions)and I have ordered a Wickham Trolley which I will repaint in MOD livery. None strictly prototypical but it is a start! Also it has been a bit like Christmas this week with the arrival of kits for the Phantom, the Wessex helicopter and an F3 Tornado plus a Unimog truck. Lots to do! Cheers David
  17. My attempt at a drawing of the engine shed
  18. Great stuff Ade. Those coaches look lovely. Cheers David
  19. Also this arrived in the post this morning.i think it will fit well into the scene
  20. Towards the end of its life some of the track at Leuchars was replaced with concrete sleepers so i thought i should get enough Individulay components to make up a couple of lengths.
  21. I have been looking through the Judith Edge kits for inspiration. I hope to have one of each of the last two pairs of locos that worked the line. The NBL 0-4-0 and the R&H 0-6-0. That said I am not averse to having some that never worked the line. I like the idea of the Dick Kerr battery locomotive which worked at Guardbridge and lasted into the seventies, just for something different. Cheers David
  22. Enjoyed the video Andy. The backscene works really well. Good depth already. Cheers David
