  1. All lining completed and the dark green corner infills have been done since this photo was taken. Hopefully the GNR transfers will arrive tomorrow. Then soon be ready for varnishing although I still have no idea how I will fix the chassis to the body yet.

  3. My Stirling Single coming along nicely. Lining is not too easy with the reverse corners on the tender so a little touch up will be required later. Due to the unusual bogie splasher design which is prominent with this loco I may have to fit smaller bogie wheels. Somehow I managed to paint the frames GCR red instead of GNR chocolate but now redone.
  4. Made a brass chassis and started lining out. Major issue painting though, somehow managed to paint the frames GCR red instead of GNR chocolate.
  5. Here she is having a run, it is only push as there is no coupling between loco and tender. https://youtu.be/UU3fb3j0m04
  6. The Stirling Single has a mock up plastic chassis to test dimensions and looks reasonable so far.
  7. Is this the TT model you are referring to? I have one I was modifying and got as far as closer wheel spacing, and, I drilled the axles completely through to fit a rod to attach outside cranks to. That was as far as I got.
  8. My Lincoln-Locos 08 3D body on my etched chassis powered by a Tri-ang XT60.
  9. My Lincoln-Locos 08 3D body having a test after moving the coupling rods further in as initially they fouled the platform sides.
  10. These two TT Britannia's were in poor condition with most lining missing and Robin Hood had a lot of black missing. The valances I painted the orange lines but decided on transfers for everything else. Fox for the lining and Railtec for the cabside numbers. They are finished in two different satin varnish finishes. William Shakespeare using Phoenix satin and Robin Hood using Railmatch satin.
  11. Nigel, it was Newman Miniatures, a chap called Rudi Newman. I drilled the holes but he had put dimples in which was what I asked for, I think he would already have done it but I wanted to make sure. There are also 3 holes in the footplate top for lamp irons but I think I may only use one and put 2 lamps where the outer two are. Garry
  12. Just over a week ago I saw a GNR N gauge Stirling Single that had been done on Shapeways. I contacted the designer to ask if he would resize to 3mm and in a material that has a good finish. He said no problem and last Tuesday after showing me the design sent it to Shapeways and I placed an order at Tuesday lunch time. By Thursday morning it had been dispatched and arrived here yesterday. The finish was a lot better than others I have had and the fine grain easily sanded out with fine wet n dry. Primed now waiting for some colour.

  14. I don't think they will be long on being delivered now. I guess you are looking at 14.2? I have no idea on the feasibility but with a wheel puller I imagine 1mm on each wheel should not be a problem. As they are the chassis is first class and remarkable for all being hand made with no mass production factory as such. I am looking forward to a couple of other classes being produced sometime.
  15. Managed to put some reasonable orange lining on one side of the valances.
  16. Some Britannia bodies and smoke deflectors in the process of a change of identity.
  17. Another Britannia but this time the lining was well worn but the rest seemed to be okay so thought I would start to improve it with some Fox and Railtec transfers. The nameplates are old Kings X which I have cut out. Looks to be working out okay. This will be SR's 70004. I had a spare set of plates, John of Gaunt, so cut them out ready for another spare Brit
  18. Nothing new as such but a mint boxed Britannia bought very cheaply 3 or 4 years ago for just £12 having its first run. This will be kept as a show model, I have very few I don't run and thus is one of them.
  19. The Lincoln-Locos WD 3D printed body and RTR class 24.
  20. The "Tri-ang" WD (Lincoln-Locos) and 8F (brass/whitemetal)!have been varnished although still without their smokebox numbers as I am still waiting for them. The B16/1 (Lincoln-Locos) is finished ex-works but I may give her a duller finish later. I did use some old etched valve gear from a different loco which was modified to fit but later I will get some specific ones done and I need to source a pair of spoked wheels for the front. Tenders are all coaled up. All the cabside numbers are the brilliant Railtec ones, other transfers are Fox

The unrebuilt Royal Scot is a Gem kit nearing completion (plates are old Kings X). The B16/1 (Lincoln-Locos) is finished ex-works but I may give her a duller finish later. Tenders all coaled up. All the cabside numbers are the brilliant Railtec ones, other transfers are Fox.
  22. Lincoln-Locos have also produced an RTR diesel, the class 24. Unlike the 47 which has a foreign chassis modified to look like a 47, Lincoln-Locos produce a specific correct chassis, in this case 8 wheel drive and no tyres. I have already seen a 37 and a 40 running, as well as the 24 I own, and these will be available at a later date. All chassis's will be specifically made for each class of loco. These RTR models do require the owner to paint in what ever livery they want themselves. It also runs around Tri-ang curves too.
  23. Little and large, L&Y class 28 number 52400. Cab numbers as usual from Railtec, tender crest from Fox. This I think started out as a Bec J11 but modified to resemble the L&Y 28 which it is not far off.
  24. Found some full BRITISH RAILWAYS transfers for use on the Duchess tender. Still need to put a white line inside the red around the cab. Then make a "spacer" between the boiler bands to mount the nameplates. Pity I did not know about the Railtec transfers when I did the loco, although, I am in two minds to try to remove these individual ones and get a made up set from Railtec.
