  1. Lincoln-Locos RTR class 24 nearly finished. I have not decided what to do about the buffers as yet. The chassis is an excellent fit all around the body so don't really want to cut it, but, I don't want to have the buffer stems held just by the buffer beam thickness. Numbers are from Railtec and the crest is from Fox.
  2. I was never happy with the Modelmaster lining and individual numbers on my green standard 5 so tonight I removed them (easily without any paint coming off) and reapplied. This time I used Fox lining and Railtec numbers. I also decided to line the footplate edge and cylinder covers. The tender still has Modelmaster lining which although slightly different I will leave. Also completed is 44200 using the excellent Railtec cabside transfers.
  3. The RTR Lincoln-Locos class 24 also runs nicely around Tri-ang small radius curves too.
  4. The RTR Lincoln-Locos class 24 will run on Tri-ang small radius curves.
  5. The Lincoln-Locos EM2 "finished". Transfers as usual from Railtec finish it off. No nameplates yet but the real ones were not named for a while. Garry
  6. Slow moving Lincoln-Locos RTR class 24 Garry
  7. Here is the first RTR diesel from Lenny at Lincoln-Locos. A lovely runner so far with more tests to do later.
  8. Yes, just cosmetic pantographs. They will be fine for now as I will not be installing any OLE on the layout. I just like it as a model and catenary does not do anything for me.
  9. Lincoln-Locos Electra awaiting her running number, hopefully tomorrow. Sometime later I will have to source nameplates. Garry
  10. Another beauty from Lenny, the EM2. This will be BR Green and named Electra as 1) I had the 00 model when it came out around 1963, and 2) I photographed her in that livery in Manchester Piccadilly in 67. Nice pair of pantographs come with it as well.

  12. A very recent model hot of the press (print table) from Lenny at Lincoln Locos arrived today, a B16/1 and what a beauty. The tender has a full separate inside print which fits perfectly, as usual. Hopefully it will be as good as the B12 with a Tri-ang mechanism fitted. Garry

  14. After the lovely running of the unrebuilt Royal Scot recently I decided to get two more out that were painted a few years ago and try to finish them off. Tonight I put the lining on and will see what names I have in-store before ordering the cabside numbers from Railtec. Garry
  15. A Tri-ang Prairie repainted in Great Western lined out livery. She is still awaiting a number from Swindon being issued.
  16. 2 SR G6 locos. One has individual numbers and a small 00 crest, the other has the brilliant Railtec transfers and a large N gauge crest. I know which numbers I prefer. BR did outshop them in both variations. One I bought as a kit to build, the other already made up but required a repaint, I don't know if Bec put different castings in but the builder of the made up one used a different chimney and safety valve. Garry
  17. Here is the Modelmaster MT lining showing 3 different widths in just 2 corners. These seem to have been printed with some left "legs" thinner and some with right "legs" thinner. That meant I could have the thinner ones touching each other without the need to put lining between and left the wider "legs" to be used with straight lining.
  18. Unfortunately it is not just the Fox lining that has different widths between the straight lines and corners. These are new Modelmaster ones. It means I am having to cut the straight sections from the corners and fit a lot of short sections. The worst bit is these have the "removable" film on which you cannot remove if any transfers overlap. Hopefully this will not be seen after varnishing otherwise it will be a strip and redo.
  19. A rake of Tri-ang Blue and Grey coaches.
  20. I did 46521 because that is how I saw it on the SVR railway 30 odd years ago. The B12 is supposed to be a copy of my Tri-ang 00 one I bought when it came out in the 60's.
