  1. Certainly not as spectacular as some buys. A joblot of whitemetal 'parts' was actually two complete ABS Rectank wagons plus another 4 sets of bogies, including an 'American' pair I've been meaning to get for a while! £15 + postage....result!
  2. Well it is 'mint' it has enough white on it to look like the one with the hole in the middle....
  3. It's there, you just can't see it for the 'weathering'
  4. Maybe its a little known Irish loco burning brown coal?
  5. Does anyone know if there are drawings extant of GCR 4 wheel Open Carriage Trucks, or even if there have been any models available? I'd like to try and work a scene of artillery loading similar to that pictured at Rugby GCR Station on the Warwickshire Railways website. https://www.warwickshirerailways.com/lner/gcrcs54.htm
  6. I only remember Bengo from the Blue Peter Annuals, and I didn't realise he also drew Bleep and Booster, another Blue Peter favourite of mine
  7. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-00-class-B12-eternal-Tender-VVGC/224154686512?hash=item3430a91430:g:NZQAAOSwKk9fXQQP Should keep going for a few years then.....
  8. As somebody who is resposible, (ultimately), for the packing of high value, very fragile audio parts, its actually better to use less packaging with a little thought. The big boys now use their vacuum moulded or card fold up thingy's which, a) use less material than the old style expanded polystyrene, and b) actually introduce far better shock absorption by dissipating the impact more effectively by careful design. When I ship anything it follows the same principles I use in the day job, and I've managed to ship completed kits with no problems so far.....(waits for the wrath of the Gods to fall on him!!).
  9. I couldn't work out what it was. I thought maybe a brand of well known building block, but the Ratio part sounds more plausible.
  10. Another one for the 'hopeful' bin...and I think I mean bin. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/00-GAUGE-GROUND-PLATFORM-SIGNAL-BOX-READY-MADE-AND-PAINTED-Internal-Workings-VGC/224159338012?hash=item3430f00e1c:g:BOIAAOSwk3lfYkww 'Bought at Auction From a Large Private Collection.' 'Possibly home made. VERY RUSTIC IN APPEARANCE. A GREAT ADDITION TO ANY LAYOUT. No Box.'
  11. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AIRFIX-54251-54253-KIT-BUILT-RAKE-of-2-BR-Ex-LMS-SUBURBAN-WEED-CONTROL-COACH-nl/332361771833?epid=2211916274&hash=item4d624e2b39:g:p6wAAOSw7cxZpZSU ...gets out yellow paint and letraset....
  12. For some reason this has been on there for some time
  13. On a totally different subject I should think this made somebody very happy. I know they were limited print runs but....! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rails-to-Glyn-Ceiriog-History-of-Glyn-Valley-Tramway-Part-2-1904-1937-/274459802258?nma=true&si=e8Af9X9wxqv5VhlqPs8%2Fsdt7WaI%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  14. I don't know about Happy Knight but I'm sure they would have a happy night if somebody buys it
  15. And so starts the next arms race :)
  16. There's one of those near me. Could be the same one
  17. Actually something worth selling for once, not a load of old tat. maybe a little hopeful on the price though
  18. Because people can't understand..... Recently sold an O Gauge item. Clearly listed as 'O Gauge' I still had somebody ask what size it was! Maybe I should have added the 'not N or OO
  19. That always reminds me of TNT. Apparently I signed for a piece of machinery on delivery. Its a pity I was in Spain on holiday at the time and it sure wasn'y my signature....they lost that one!
  20. Of course not....its far better than their finest
  21. I was watching a couple of R&E Great Central kits recently, I think there are people who just bid for the sake of it, this one is an example of somebody not doing their homework and getting carried away. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5522-Kit-for-R-amp-E-Models-4mm-Brass-amp-White-Metal-GCR-10-Ton-Box-Van-Wagon-/333663396475?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=zZO%2FYZ10Yzfaw409hTxXojd23%2F0%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc I can go to Brassmasters and get the same kit for £24
  22. I'm not sure about catch of the day....this may be it. £15 box of recycling (007 would be shaken and not stirred....) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OO-Gauge-Job-lot-of-Building-Material-Spares-007/114318857464?hash=item1a9def54f8:g:in4AAOSwNs5fGarC
  23. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114318857487?ul_noapp=true So I've been offered 10% off I'd only pay about 1% for it.....!!
