  1. I sometimes wonder about bidding - it’s very Tempting!!!
  2. I asked Steve @railtec-models to do the plates for 43308 Highland Chieftain which are now available on his website. If anybody was wondering what they look like then here you go ..... and from the front....
  3. Tricky little job today changing the EWS yellow V on the 66 buffer beam to the Freightliner yellow, I say tricky as for once the buffers are all firmly attached and the weathering on the body is quite heavy so I want to match it so some masking and a coat of Mig primer Rest of the time has been spent removing numbers and nameplates from these four, 60007 is for weathering the other 3 are having new identities before weathering too. The scuds in the background have had the window mods sprayed just need the black surrounds tidying up before finally getting their decals.
  4. The blinked up 47 is now revealed - there you go Rob!! thought it would be good to get a picture with its RES buddy too
  5. Hi Jack, remembered your Anglia scud and what an improvement it was so definitely worth doing, especially as one unit had a blue interior and the other grey!
  6. Ha ha, that’s 569 which just needs a detail pack on one end, like to keep the complicated jobs until the weekend
  7. TFW scuds today. After a conflab with their owner we agreed to go for full refurb spec, I’d previously blanked a small window on one side but the shell still had 11 windows per side where as pics of the scuds show the first two windows plated leaving 9 on that side. It is also the home for a large T decal which I couldn’t put on a window! So excuse the long post here is today’s efforts... Window blanks made and fitted in place- next was to sort the interior, seats needed removing to make the toilet cubicle and the seats after the table on the top left needed to be reversed- and here they are facing the right way I then made the cubicle and this fitted into place, did this for both units- Tamiya grey primer forms the base colour before painting in the seats, red seat tops and tables completed looks like this Over the weekend I will get the windows into top coat so looking forward to getting those done.
  8. Nice when you get to see the finished product in action! thanks to @MRC_Jacobfor the pic
  9. Hi Jack, good to see you posting again, Your 66 is next up on my list to do, Prentendalino will be a bit longer as need to be on my A+ game for that!! See you soon, Cheers Jerry
  10. Hi Rich, many thanks for the compliments and glad you enjoyed the thread. The productivity is due to Squirrel Rail being my business so nearly everything I post is customer work and my projects are reaching a pile of Everest size proportions!! Keep up your workbench as there’s some great stuff you are doing and I must admit to some envious glances at what you’re working on! Cheers Jerry
  11. Fertis 56s and another 47 today, renumber and rename with the horrible orange TDM cables replaced and white rimmed tail lights added. and the front, much better Next up the Fertis pair, slightly different liveries with one having the full black window surrounds and yellow front end details- such a shame Hornby fit those plastic handrails.... and individually
  12. Fertis, TFW and BR blue again today with the second TFW scud getting its window surrounds painted, not a great pic as it’s drying off in the tray and didn’t want paw prints on it! In the background is 840 which has had a light weathering which I will finish off tomorrow lastly finally getting decals on the Fertis pair and 115 still drying!
  13. Full squirrel rail day today so lots of progress with this lot! 47840 and 47569 have their numbers and paintwork done so will reassemble and add the etch tomorrow before 849 has a light weathering: The Res NAAs have been recalled and had a coat of satin, the front one being the rescue, or should that be REScue job in my previous post! The TFW 153s have had the toilet windows filled and the front one which will be 369 has had the grey band added between the red and the roof which is ( as far as I know) unique to this one. The one behind will be 312 which has had its grey sprayed today. next up two HSTs, first N Gauge debrand and renumber, and then back to OO with a bit of remedial work to alter the previous pain job where the blue stripe should have gone across the door and the varnish had discoloured over the white- here’s before; and after with the revised blue; hopefully get some more stuff done tomorrow!
  14. Lots of variety today starting with an HST naming, then a bit of painting, West Coast Railways 57, Br blue 47840 and the long term Fertis 56s - sorry John!! After the paint some anti-painting, deweathering this poor victim.... and half done...,,
  15. As long as they’re ones I can get off the shelf decals
  16. I wish there were more decals available for units or more models!....They make a great subject to work on and little details like the exhaust just bring them to life, will be a few more to do soon, cheers Jerry
  17. DMU day today with three completions. All renumbering, light weathering and refinished exhausts -a quick before and after of the 153 and 150; So Northern rail 150/2 Northern Rail scud and the EMT 158, numbers from Steve at @railtec-models brilliant stuff, and the finished pair,
  18. Been out and about today but have got most of the decals and details painted on Hood....
  19. Renumbering finished in the 67s and the the nameplates on 023- it was “fun” removing the larger printed ones... And 005 Another 153, this time renumbered as 301, transfers from @railtec-models as with the 150 and 158 The 150 has had the exhaust repaired and a decent colour applied rather than the factory one tone rust
  20. Hi Rich, sorry you’re having a crap weekend - I’ve just decided to redo two 56s cos I just wasn’t happy with them...on your HAA did you use different paints as I have had similar problems using Tamika paints over enamels. Hope you get it sorted!
  21. The 67s 005 & 023 are both being renamed and numbered, decals have started to go on the Ferris pair and Hood has been on hold as I repainted a door which I didn’t like, with four colours it’s not a quick job! The DMUs are a nice change, the EMT 158 is a renumber and the Northern 150 is being debranded.before and after It has had new numbers and the wheelchair and cycle signs added in the background is the long term London Midland 150 which is now nearing the finishing line. Still fettling but it’s getting there... mans here’s the two cars
  22. Thanks for the compliment- they are a nice subject matter!!
