Hi John, when you say Anglia Grey do you mean the window surrounds as the coach bodies are white? Cheers Jerry -

Weathering and varnish this afternoon with 66522 and 90222 nearly at the finishing line. 522 is a challenge as it’s a really grotty machine but can look overdone - hope I’ve hit a happy medium.. and from the other side As a respray from a Hattons freightliner 66 I’m pretty pleased with this and don’t think I have seen a Hattons Shanks 66 before! 90222 is the first RFD European 99 I’ve done so another off the list... one job I wish I hadn’t had to do is the repairs to the RSH tank which postman Pat decided to stamp on, luckily he missed the other two! The 3D print is really brittle, the cab fractured above the left buffer in a big arc and also across the left hand window. Here it is with all the parts back in place and repainted, still need to tidy up the top of the buffer beam. Last up a before and after. I’ve a pair of TFW 153s to refinish and they are horrible things to spray as getting a good mask over the rivets is a challenge. Here’s my first attempt- need to tweak the red a little and will most likely refinish the bottom line of the black- there’s no readily available TFW grey and grey is a pain to match so opinions welcome on the shade or suggestions on what is available off the shelf as a match! -

Sorry for lack of updates but domestic duties have left little time to sit down and take pics! First up First Group 90 that’s headed off to it’s new home... 50031 is now reassembled so a few tidy ups then decals and nameplates. The base model was the Hornby weathered Achilles so everything needs cleaning, windows, handrails and all the under frame needs repainting so not a quick job! weathering next and N Gauge cargo wagons and EWS & DB steel carriers, all work in progress but you get the idea..., -

Bit of progress on the London Midland 150 today with the lime green under the black added. Needs flattening now and some tidy ups so bear in mind this is work in progress! likewise Hood in intercity has had its yellow ends added, need to tidy up behind where the handrails will go but it’s getting there... -

More 90 developments this afternoon with the RFD euro 222 getting all its decals with nameplates to follow; its fellow 90/2, 227 has now had most of its weathering so nearly there The Shanks 66 has also began its weathering closely following pictures as it was really sooty and want to get it right -

A few completions today with a pair of 90s a 60 and a 66. 90049 is a rework of the 90042 model with the yellow bar between the windscreens added and repositioned OHLE flashes, yellow steps and of course new numbers followed by a weathering The other 90 is a full respray of the RFD model into Virgin as 90012 BTP, plates from Shawplan decals from Fox, Think this is still one of my favourite liveries, will get round to doing a de-branded as they were when they arrived over here in Anglia. and from the other side Next up a Hattons 66, started life as an EWS machine and now in DB red with the NHS keyworker logos from Railtec and lastly a respray of 60078 in Mainline blue into GBRF with Graham Farish names and logos, again from Railtec, -

Thanks Dave, I copied a picture the owner sent me, not sure what makes the stain and how it’s only blown in one direction but fun to mess about copying! Cheers Jerry -

Class 90s today with 6 on the go... four are currently being weathered, Barbie 021 is having the last of its decals and RFD Euro 222 is about to get its decals 047 has had its patches added where the depot plaque was and started to add some of the chips and dings 049 is just undergoing a few washes prior to airbrush work so the overall splatter on the front won’t be staying like that -

Hi Rob, glad you got there in the end! Cut a strip of Tamiya tape to just under a mill wide and mask it - then use a paint marker, you should be able to mask and spray the rest, cheers Jerry -

Hi John, thank you for the kind words. The cant rail conundrum varies from model to model but I normally use Fox orange Lining as you can use microset with these. On models that are due be be weathered I sometimes use a bow pen instead of the lining decals but I think my pen is wearing out as it doesn’t produce as consistent line like it used to. The other option is to mask out the factory line to preserve this but not always feasible- I did do a post on here last year where I did the cant rails on a 37, hopefully that all helps! Cheers Jerry -
