  1. Hi Rob, that’s unusual - DM if I can be of any help as I use them all the time - cheers Jerry
  2. Just a quick update of what’s due to be finished over the next few days - basically anything in the picture! I’m off to visit the guys at Model Junction in Bury St Edmunds tomorrow to stock up on essentials to help this lot over the finish line. 90047 has just one OHLE glad to go and then that joins 012 for weathering. Hopefully some more interesting updates soon...
  3. The annual price rise has pushed the price up a little bit which seems to have escaped many eBay sellers who think they have gone up a lot!!
  4. Hopefully if postman Pat does the business you should have them back soon!!
  5. Decals today although not the ones I’m waiting for which have been with postman Pat since Wednesday....the Squirrel Rail log jam continues to see the dining room annexed as I’ve run out of space in the workshop so here’s the update! The Virgin 90 is decalled and named so will be ready for its weathering 90047 has had its freightliner triangles applied so numbers and branding tomorrow , 66113 behind has had its OHLE flashes and a few other decals, ready for the post delivery.... The N Gauge 60 is waiting for it’s nameplates but can go back together tomorrow, the one underneath will be an OO version. The 50 will be Hood in intercity and the white went on yesterday so will be masked ready for the executive dark grey last up 66522 has had all its yellow stripes and numbers, Barbie liveried 90 is due to have its cant rails due tomorrow with the 3 tanks due to get their wheels painted tomorrow too. Fingers crossed for post delivery!
  6. Hi Benjamin, where did you get the 175 body- I’d like to see that when it’s finished, cheers Jerry
  7. Hi Benjamin, hope you’re well, the buffers are from Shawplan, exactly the same length and size as the Bachmann freightliner 90. They need the faces cleaning up from the casting but are nicely detailed on the back and look the part when painted. Cheers Jerry
  8. Had a few days of domestic duties with the oldies so have been doing a few bits and pieces but hadn’t had time to post an update so here’s a few pics: First up green door on the Freightliner 90 Then a very long masking session for two of the Agecroft tanks before the black and then with the masks off - bit of a bleed on the red one but easily sorted 90227 is coming along nicely, the replacement buffers and all the etch is now on, The EWS to DB 66113 has been reassembled waiting for decals which are with postman Pat so hopefully here Monday last up here’s a quick view of some of the others so hopefully some better updates over the next couple of days!
  9. Hi, I always use the Tamiya range of masking tapes, cost a bit more but produce a really nice edge- hope that helps!
  10. Hi Rob, it’s funny - I used to help my brother out in his building company and people would pay £20 an hour for me to stick emulsion on a wall, come to the trains and someone’s wants a complicated respray lots of masking, lots of prep and the hourly rate works out less than the minimum wage!! You can see why people stick to weathering....
  11. Hi Rob, it’s really frustrating as those stripes have come out (paint wise) perfectly! Sometimes I get asked for things I don’t fancy as I know it won’t look good or due to the time it will take makes my hourly rate next to nothing!
  12. Bit of a long update but fairly colourful.... Virgin class 90 has had the grey added, first virgin 90 I’ve done and still think this is one of the best schemes another great scheme is the RFD European and the slate grey is now on this one whilst the black windows have gone on this RFD version to become a 90/2 last of the grey was the roof and lower bands on the Fertis pair As a change from grey GBRF blue on another N gauge 60 Now the colourful three - yesterday was yellow panels on the RSH trio Today I masked and sprayed the wasp stripes on one of them, came out great but, and a big but is I’ve cocked it up as I have one extra stripe I worked the spacing out from the left hand side using the buffers, windows and coupling as reference then just followed across - never thought to count the stripes - lesson learned- until I do it again! So these lovely stripes will all be going...aaarrrgh... fronts ok though!
  13. Many thanks, it does look good and give s me a challenge! Some nice units on the vid too, cheers Jerry
  14. Thanks for the link, I will have a search on the web to see if I can find it, and let me know if and when you want one! Cheers Jerry
  15. 50s finished today, reworks of 50045 apart from 002 and 025 which came from 026. All sound fitted and ready to go!
  16. It’s already got a home so accounted for! I haven’t seen another one - have you got a link or a picture of it please? Cheers Jerry
  17. Lots of colour today mixing a green to match the door surrounds on the centro 150.... mans finally getting to this... more green mixing for 66522, this is a nightmare to match but finally happy with this and the weathering will bring it all together. The Euro blue and Rail grey were slightly less challenging! change of colour to Virgin Red, followed by GBRF orange on the N gauge 60 before rounding off the day with a pair of 56s in Fertis grey, the other one is still drying so hasn’t disappeared....
  18. Hi Will, looking good- is the primer solvent or Acrylic based, Mig do a very good one coat grey acrylic but I prefer the solvent based ones? Cheers Jerry
  19. Weathering on the 50s today with the airbrush work underway, here’s 037 029 and 030 Everything else today has been primer so not the most exciting to post so I haven’t!
  20. Hi Alf, I have the paint for doing that but reckon if Bachmann ever do some more it’s a good chance they will do that livery so so far have resisted that one! Cheers Jerry
  21. Hi Benjamin, I have ordered them from John at Precision Decals, hope that helps! Cheers Jerry
  22. Last couple of days spent preparing for the April work load, lots of ordering paint and decals and preparing this lot and from the other end of the table... not forgetting DMU corner.... and the 5 50s in the paint shop but more of them tomorrow!
