  1. I think that there are bigger gaps in Modern image units than 150’s. I can agree to a point with a 155, as that hasn’t had any upgrade since pre DCC ready or even directional lights! But the 170’s and the Desiro family are another few models lacking detail and the 220/221 and also 222 fleets are in need of revamp, especially if you look at how much these sets (220/221) are selling for on eBay second hand. I also think there are markets for brand new units such as Electrostar’s, 320/321/322 etc. and 185’s that would be more profitable then a diluted market that may or may not want to replace what they have. Even though if someone did a 150 to the Bachmann 158/ Realtrack 156 standards I would replace my 150’s.

Ah from googling it seems 325 is in fake Pullman livery but is actually a Restaurant First, ex Royal Train.

Depends which 325 you are on about 325 is indeed what you state, but this is a normal part of the set but also the met-cam Pullman coach Amber which has the same 325 number although it is known by 99025 as well. This is the replacement for the coach that suffered an electrical fire. I believe this will be fixed and put back into the set once fixed.

is this still used by the northern belle?

Yes, WCRC have had this out in recent trips. Flickr along with my own recent sightings while out on the network confirm this. It now looks a bit worse for wear but so does the whole set now it’s being used as much, often one of the sleeper coaches is swapped out for it, not that the BG has any sleeper facilities to my knowledge.

I couldn't agree more. I hope Hornby are listening. I understand lamps/lights on diesels/electrics but pointless on steam.

Actually, if they were to put lights on some steam models I’d be happy as a modern image modeller. Mainly because steam on the mainline now usually has the same headlamp layout, black central main headlight lit, and then smaller fake lamps either lit or not either side. And as a DCC modeller if I can light them and turn them on off or even have a red light if done right I’d welcome it, but I can see how a DC modeller wouldn’t want them but why not have like a blue box company and have DC, DCC and DCC deluxe versions, no lights, fake lights and DCC lights. Our hobby is evolving and technology is at the heart of it, if it’s done well we should welcome it!

  5. If I were to use my mystic Meg powers, or a crystal ball then I would think another batch is in the offing. Obviously the current ones should sell through first, once all gone then a new batch would be announced when a production slot is sorted.

    I would think we could see;

92029 in New DB red (it’s new)

92031 in EWS (they did tell us they had tooled this one)

any of the 3TG w/ EWS stickers (popular and ever present)

GBRf grey 92044 (missing from the last batch and different to 043’s grey)

Another RFD model (popular and lots of choice)

another SNCF model (rails exclusive went quickly)

GBRF 92028 in blue (020&032 been done)

CS 92033 (seen as it’s named, because who doesn’t like a named one).

Or something along these lines. New liveries and current additions for those in the here and now, along with late 90’s models for those in the RFD/ early EWS days and some for the in-between too like me.

It's the artist formerly known as 56003, so is a Romanian loco. The cutaway cab around the bufferbeams does indeed make this a tricky one. Incidentally, from pictures of the shell in primer, it looks like it'll retain this feature as 69013 unless a load of welding is done purely for aesthetic reasons.

I suppose buying a Romanian example and then modifying it might work depending on how the chassis would look with the cab cut away, then giving it a respray.

I had waited a long time for H to do this one but would rather have the Cavalex version!

Doesn't this one need it own special tooling if it was made? Is it not a Doncaster example but with cut away buffer beams meaning it’s unlike any other one? I’d love a model of this one too but unless I’m wrong it would be very expensive to make, here’s hoping I am!

interesting. It’s frustrating we don’t get clear answers… have you got the photos to hand by any chance?

When I say photos I mean the key world article and photos at this link that was discussed earlier.

The sprue for the toolings shows an ASF bogie, Hornby can’t deny that one! As the guy didn’t at Warley, I feel like he was more loose lipped than some others on the stand, but he also didn’t have all the answers and when I asked further another person in effect told him to shut up and stop talking as in he was giving away future releases!

  9. Got an email today, that delivery to Footplate is due in the next few days, if you did pre-order, then it seems you need to go back onto the website and place the order again. At the moment the pre order price seems to be £39.95 per wagon. Not sure what stock levels are going to be like but I’m getting my order in now!

  10. I have to say, I do like the special liveries so 60074 in it’s different guises, 60007 in its switch on to safety, 60065 in its EWS/DB guise, 60066 in Drax livery, 60071 in EWS is a good one and 60099 in corus silver too would be ones.

I tried their connection to the Flangeway site but it failed, so I'll put one here

Well found! After checking the website it appears all the modern ones have the holding bars on and non are flat tops? Is this supposed to be, I thought the modern ones were flat tops? Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

Good news that the retailers are getting 608 and 609, I've had no word from Accurascale on my directly ordered 608 that it is on its way yet.

Same here, no word from Accurascale regarding the delivery of mine, however I would assume that they are working as hard as possible to get them out as soon as possible. Keep the faith an extra week is nothing compared to how long we’ve all waited for a good RTR 37/6 model!

    Hi there,

Thanks.  For present day versions it'll be sensible to avoid numbers from batch 1 and stick to examples from batches 2 and 3.

    cheers

    Ben A.

    Hi Ben,

So if I was after wagons that ran from 2010-2018 I’m assuming I would be looking at the ones with H & HT lettering but not the originals or were they around still in 2018? I’m assuming Ermewa branding came after 2018.

Need to get an order for these placed!!

    Cheers

    Chris

Just need the Rails of Sheffield 37/610 now to be sent out to the customers who have pre ordered it with them

I have my pre-order with them and haven’t even been charged the second payment yet, I would have thought an email would have been sent or guidance?

In terms of 608, my order of 602, 608 & 609 hasn’t been dispatched, I’m assuming that 608 is holding them back.

An Electrostar would be more appropriate than TPE units for Milton Keynes.

Thats true but I can’t remember the last time a manor went through Milton Keynes either? I think with TPE 802’s due soon and AS 68’s & Mk5a’s out now then the 185 would be an excellent gap filler! As a northerner I would prefer a 185 but either model is a very good addition to the OO gauge range!
