  1. It wouldn’t surprise me to see a new tooled 66, to go head to head with AS, but I’d also have thought maybe something of the Unit variety would come through maybe some 158’s. Must be time for some sort of kettle upgrade or new type. And I’d like to see the Mk.2F tooling used to do some other liveries, like anglia as mentioned maybe WCRC, or Statesman or even some north Britton coaches?

Just over a month to rub down and repaint.

I can't see them clearing the internal space to take the circles off.. so I guess Uncle Makita and his angle grinder took them off.

We all know it was in running condition at Crewe but it didn’t leave there under its own power, nor did it leave instantly after being under its own power. Maybe the cabinets never made the trip across to Toton? Maybe when it’s back at Crewe IEMD they might get put back in? I’d have thought taking uncle Makita would cause more harm than good!

I'm interested in that too, whilst I want post 2018 versions, I'd like to know if I have a choice or not. Obviously 112 is but unsure on the other.

So just in case you wanted to know, it sounds like you did, here is the low down. Both 108 and 112 are modelled after 2018. 108 joined GC in late 2017 in Dynamic lines Livery and was repainted by mid-late 2018 into GC modern livery, new cycle space logos, By Arriva added, etc. 112 only got the green band after 2018, however it has spent most of its time on 4 out of 5 engines with the LPG engine isolated, it also has had underbody modifications on that car.

Hope that clears it up for you! @TomScrut

Regarding an earlier point, I believe the green striped GCR vehicle has only been like that for two or three years, and certainly would not be pre 2018.

Yeah 180112 had it’s green stripe added after 2018, and 108 is also in post 2018 refurb livery as it was a GWR unit until around 2017/2018.

I think at this stage (ie tooling) we’re not going to start talking about a second batch!

I think in terms of specific livery variations we will go with accurate but long lasting and offering a range of time periods ie we’re unlikely to only do pre or post a certain date.

Okay, and yes it’s way too early to be talking about a second batch.

I get what you are saying about specific liveries but your choice of for GC units means you have offered only post 2018 units leaving the 2009-2018 period empty of a GC representation.

I’m still going to make a purchase it just means doing some reworking and the M word…

I don’t want to seem awkward, and I think this project needs full support so that we can get more longer (4+ car) units into production but it’s just nice to know what I will be spending my money on?

  6. So very happy see that the order book has opened on the 180’s and 175’s!

But there’s always a however isn’t there… so apologies but however I’ve got a question or two about the liveries on offer, the GC 180’s 180108 and 180112, are they both post 2018 refurb, as in new logos and newer door labels for cycles and wheelchair spots etc? (I’m assuming 112 is as the green stripe was added after 2018) I ideally want them pre 2018 condition but if neither are in it then would that be an idea for a second batch or am I better just reworking them from the production models?

I have filled out an expression of interest and I’m also wondering if the first Barbie livery would be done for a Hull Trains 180 too? Or again if not I’ll do a rework from a GW one. I’m hoping the Northern one gets the go ahead as it was an interesting option although not a reliable one to catch!

    Thanks Guys!

Wonder when the last B1 style bogies disappeared from the main line ?

I think the Sir Nigel Greeley support coach was the last one regularly used on the mainline. That’s the only one I can think I’ve seen recently, pre LSG overhaul of course…

Thread resurrection.   Has anybody fitted interior lights to the Bachmann or even the Hornby  mk1s?  I have a RBR to add to my rake of Bachmann mk2fs which came with dcc lights.....

Thinking if its possible to use the lighting board from a dcc fitted BDO mk2f into the mk1 rest buffet as the layout inside is not that disimilar but getting power fro the track.....????

You would need to fit some pick ups to the bogies, kits are out there for this. But if your getting those you may as well just pick up a lighting kit with a capacitor. The only issue is turning on and off the lights with your Bachmann Mk2’s. I’m assuming the roof profile will be different between the mk2 and mk1 so not sure how the lights will sit inside the coach… possible but may need tweaking. Swing and roundabouts with buying a decoder and a lighting board vs taking apart a mk2 system.

  9. A question on 66507, will it have what appears to be a green surround on the Freightliner logo? Looking on Flickr I can’t see the green surround on photos, it could well be there in reality but I can’t see a picture of it. I quite like the idea of renumbering it to 506 in a later era, but a green surround would stop that idea?

    Cheers

  10. I think personally I’d just take some FCA or FKA wagons tbh. They would look very well behind the 92’s! And they haven’t been produced in OO at least! The missing link in EWS/DB intermodal work. The FCA’s run with a range of containers and flat style loads and MOD work along with bin-liner trains. So plenty of options to tool up like the PFA wagons have had!

It depends. I aren't sure they have done a lot of repeating with the new 37 and 47 with the liveries they have done in the past few years. 37669 was only out in about 2019 or 2020 and lasted in the shops a while. I am, however, unsure as to when they last did a 47. They did a 57 about 2 years ago too.

They'll come eventually, I think they might have other priorities in liveries that haven't been done for a while/ever.

I will be surprised if there isn't one in the next Accurascale 37 batch though.

They only ever did 47245 in a 2010ish condition. So a 47 is likely and if they pick the right one it would be an easy re-number! However a WCRC 37 is unlikely to me, although if they did it I think it would be likely we see 37516/518? I also think this one is more likely to be an AS model seen as they are doing refurbished models in the next batch (applying the logic of 37714 being in the next batch).

I think a 57/0 would be nice but since I have a respray of 57006 unless they did 001 then I wouldn’t be interested.

Surely not? With Accurascale anything seems possible...

Just one in NR yellow will be nice though even if the extra lights don’t work.

Can I add a request for some Yellow ones! I’ve already sold up my Hornby Yellow ones in anticipation. After I saw this line in the description of the other announced models, “Extra cab front details for Network Rail locomotives” so now I’m just waiting to hit an order button that’s not live yet 😑😔

I wouldn’t be able to resist any other modern image additions either…
