  1. I just made a post and hid it as it was a duplicate of this, £162 and after seeing him bodge and scarper the contacts. The ULTIMATE eBay Madness world champion 2022.
  2. Looking at feedback, they have only sold one item this last month, and only seven in the previous six months. I am guessing at being delusional... I may be wrong, but I, personally, would first search for the value of something and I would price my item accordingly. I would then review it and maybe make an offer to the people following it. I can't comprehend the mindset of plucking a number out of thin air and having stuff simply not sell month on month... This kit does have 18 followers, so are they interested or just curious if someone will actually pay the asking price? Considering the amount of stock, the seller should be wondering why nothing sells... This has 13 watcher... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363620881126 However.... this one takes the biscuit.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363499226172
  3. I'll pass... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275518191545 Think of a number and double it economics...
  4. Yeah, I'm not a fan of Fox
  5. That firebox number seems a bit oversized.
  6. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Oxford-Rail-OR763FO001-Mk3a-FO-Coach-Blue-Grey-M11052-/165729628984?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276 OR I could get it from Oxford Directly for £37.99
  7. Light wise, I have the Neatfi XL, 2200 Lumens of loveliness. What I really love about it, apart from the daylight it generates, is that the swing arm is the same as my studio quality Rode microphone arm, so zero sag and no wobble.
  8. I've tried a few of the suggestions and found a scalpel blade to do the best job. Thank you for all the input. Plus I have a cheaper set on the way for future use ;-)
  9. I have a lovely set of Vallorbe swiss files ( a recommendation from this forum) but with working with soft white metal kits, they have clogged up, reducing their effectiveness. Does anyone have any ideas on cleaning them? I have tried a wire brush and a sonic cleaner, but neither were really effective.
  10. I really researched this a year or so ago and got this one. I really liked it, I wanted a headband, as glasses type either slip down or dig in. This complete loop was comfortable. The chargeable USB light was good, but did not hold a charge for more than a day. However after several months the headband broke at those two weak pinned hinges. It would also loosen and droop as the white module was quite beefy. I then tried these... Absolutely useless. Apart from each light requiring three watch batteries, the jewellers look lenses are meant to be mere millimeters away from the thing you are looking at. Just how you see jewellers using them when they are looking at stones, they have the subject right in their face, so not the best for modelling. So I bought the Toolzone set as posted by cypherman above. The headband works, but gets a bit uncomfortable over time, but if I loosen it, it slips down. It lacks any real padding and grip. The light is pointless and the batteries in the visor again adds weight and drags it down. I am now looking at this set. It appears to be a more modern take on my original and no longer has the hinges that failed on the originals. However it also lacks the padding. Another negative is the need for 3x AAA batteries in the visor, adding weight and limited lifespan, but for £12.45 on eBay, I may give it a punt. As for having a good light, yes, that is a given and mine cost me £125, but you still need directional fill-in lighting for the best illumination of what you are working on.
  11. Sorry, it was not meant in a direct reply to yourself, just a statement on the price. No slight intended.
  12. Market forces are defined as the actions of buyers and sellers that cause the prices of goods and services to change without being controlled by the government. This is just dirty tactics to undermine your competitors. Stomping on Heljan and the TT:120 market is probably going to damage the popularity of the scale, were if they had expanded the available range, it may have helped stimulate interest in the scale.
  13. Only because Hornby released many of the exact same locos Heljan had planned. They did the same thing with the recent Lion loco. They had even planned to release the Titfield Thunderbolt, only Canal stopped them. They are getting really dirty and underhanded at Hornby.
  14. We need a coupling that allows for voltage to pass along the train, so you can patch an aux output to the coupling that would pass along to each carriage.
  15. I keep seeing these gold plated versions not selling on eBay. It gets annoying when you are after a realistic version.
  16. A fool and his money are soon parted... Hornby were getting absolutely eviscerated on social media yesterday, partly because of this daylight robbery but mainly because of their hijacking Heljans TT:120 range and causing them to cancel everything.
  17. I'd love to comprehend how this think this equates to DCC? For starters, what do you connect it to? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/384829275391
  18. I was just going to post the very same seller! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/295265013294 Explain to me why they would cut the engine out and leave it next to the shell of the loco? Also, he grass is very realistic! It looks like he has sprinkled Rosemary over it.
  19. Probably well known already, ACmodels2, everything is "spares or repair" but always asking full price... Cake and eat it?? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/155158412689
  20. Maybe I'm too cynical and assume it has been done to cash in on the silly prices of R30231.
  21. Ker'ching! 🤑💰 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284991141693
  22. Probably a mix of Hornby and eBay madness, dut £750 for one train. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-R3957-LNER-Class-43-HST-Farewell-Tour-Train-Pack-Mk3-Coaches-OO-Gauge-/225197793446
  23. Now 11 days to deliver from Gateshead is a bit much. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225072561706 There use to be a section you could report people hiding the country of origin of their items, but that has gone too.
