  2. 158742 slows for a stop at Barnetby on 30th March 2004.
  3. And not only is it a short distance between the two, it's also a steep gradient. Around 1 in 37 I believe. 319443 stationary on the incline. It had 'sat down' between City Thameslink and Blackfriars and was about to work back north.
  4. Well the 'engineers' at the DafT did try to suspend the laws of physics during the development of the IEP. Presumably this is another example. Either that or they've found a way to permanently de-forest the areas around railway lines. Agent Orange, anyone? Younger readers may need to Google that one. As you say, it will be interesting - and probably amusing too, especially the marketing spin.
  5. I really hope that that's a replica number plate on the cab side of the T3. Either way, I hope that the Swanage Railway has effective measures to keep thieves and vandals away.
  6. ex-BR 30096 (ex-LSWR No. 96 Normandy) ended up at PD Fuels (Corralls) Ltd in Southampton where it was renamed Corrall Queen.
  7. ...and it's all the fault of the EU bureaucrats in Brussels!
  8. This number sequence has produced a few gems and more variety too. How about carrying on until we reach 200 and see what the view is then?

  18. Class 59, 59002, at that time named 'Yeoman Enterprise', at Eastleigh Works Open Day on 18th September 1988. Where do the years go ! I always thought that the silver and blue Foster Yeoman livery suited the class 59s. I've no idea who 'Dan, Doris and Debbie' are posing in front of the loco. They weren't with me.

  22. I hope the conversation was more along the lines of; "Right chaps, if these are still here tomorrow when we're scheduled to start the job then we're b*ggered !"
