  1. I'm delighted that this project has been given the go ahead. I had eagerly been awaiting news since this was first proposed back in 2020. 😍 I’m a sucker for anything in InterCity Swallow livery and so it’s highly likely that I will order one of these. Just as a bit of interesting info, a friend and fellow volunteer at the GWSR worked on the ‘Badger’ project. He has just told me the following: “My first project at Brush as a newly qualified Engineer, just four of us designed the whole bogie from scratch, no CAD in those days, all drawn up on the drawing boards, no computers, all the stress calcs carried out by hand... by me !?! We at Brush and British Rail affectionately knew it as the Aardvark”
  2. I couldn't resist the temptation to have a play, so I managed to get into the railway room and retrieve my old Bachmann Dynamis system (we have the builder in at present). Here's an admittedly very rubbish video, but at-least you can see it running on the rolling road. The only snag is the 20 function limit on the Dynamis. I'm blown away. The last time I felt like this was when I was given my first ever DCC Sound loco as a present (37057) over 10 years ago. I've received 3 of my 5 Deltics thus far and all appear to be perfectly intact, save for one set on nose end steps. Well done team Accurascale, you've done yourselves proud in my book. Roll on the mighty 37s. 😎
  3. Most of the stuff I order from Rails is delivered by Royal Mail. However, larger parcels (namely Heljan 7mm) tend to come via Parcelforce. I have a couple of Deltics due from Rails, so I suspect it may well end up being the latter of the two given the size. I could well be wrong though.
  4. Please send help, I can't cope... 😍 Some real works of art there! Well done!
  5. I gather he had to lay the track first as well. He works damn hard.
  6. I was expecting to see cheese and tomato on this pinza. Then again, it's all about 'Going Green' these days. I dough my hat to you guys. 😉 That looks the business.
  7. Guys, you've well and truly outdone yourselves here. Well done. Now where the hell have my sunglasses gone! 😎
  8. Oh no not again Fran! I'm running out of organs to donate!
  9. All the best for Model Rail Scotland @Accurascale Fran . I'm sure it will all go well. I was hoping to possibly make it this year. However, it clashes with my volunteering commitments at the GWSR. Maybe next year...
  10. Kernow, KMS Railtech & Invicta are some of the retailers I've found who are accepting pre-orders.
  11. I agree. Going on the product names as per the website, my understanding is - Era 4 (BR Early Emblem), Era 5 (BR Late Crest). R30224 LMS, Stanier 5MT 'Black 5', 4-6-0, 5200 - Era 3 R30225SS BR, Stanier 5MT 'Black 5', 4-6-0, 44726 With Steam Generator - Era 5 R30226 BR, Stanier 5MT 'Black 5', 4-6-0, 45157 'Glasgow Highlander' - Era 5 R30227 BR, Stanier 5MT 'Black 5' Caprotti, 4-6-0, 44755 - Era 4 (Web Exclusive) Hornby list their Era's as below. 3 Grouping 1923-1947 4 Early British Railways1948-1956 5 Late British Railways 1956-1968 I'm happy to be corrected if this in not the case.
  12. Great to see one of the Class 37 samples at GETS yesterday and a big thank-you to @Islesy for allowing me to examine the model in the flesh. It really is a work of art and has some substantial weight to it, too. Wheel slippage certainly won't be an issue! This was my first ever visit to GETS and my first show in 2 years. It was well worth the trip and roll on next years event. Having spent Friday working at Toddington on Dinmore Manor, it was also fantastic to see the latest EP of that project. 37215 just happened to be trundling around the station and yard whilst I was on disposal duty. It's always good to see this loco out and about, even more so given that you used it for sound recording (yes, I know I am a tad biased!). We just need the C/H 37s now *cough*. Keep up the great work guys and I can't wait to see the decorated samples. Good to see Gareth again and thanks for your time Paul, very much appreciated. Warley 2019 feels like a lifetime ago now. Last weekend was our Autumn diesel gala and whilst D6948 wasn't running, it was put on static display for the viewing public.
  13. Yes, it's rather frightening how time flies along! Other plain BR Blue examples included: D1547, 1662, 47001, 47404, 47408 & 47560.
  14. 47035 & 47148 were two from some of the original production runs over 10 years ago.
  15. Thanks for the update which, as usual, makes for an interesting read. The Caledonian examples look very good indeed, even before the minor improvements are made. I wish all the best to the team at the factory. I can quite understand their frustration with the TPE models. These were always going to be a challenge, given the livery complexity, but I have complete confidence that the problems will be sorted out. You only have to look at your current catalogue as testament to your standards and dedication within the industry. Whilst the delays and setbacks are frustrating, it is perfectly understandable and I’m sure by and large, the vast majority of folk will be supportive. My Class 68 will just have to wait at the depot just that little bit longer.
  16. You're not alone. Why do I find myself looking at the IRM website? This is rather worrying. Cabhrú! Cad atá ag tarlú dom!
  17. Now THAT is a work of art. 'Silver Service' in IRM form. You've done a superb job with this model.
  18. The last I heard from Accurascale was that the Deltics are in production and are on course for delivery Q3, shipping conditions allowing. See post from Fran on the 17th June here:
  19. As someone who has migrated and updated an existing website with a database between several providers over the years, I would not be surprised if the above is a possible reason (obviously, we don't know). Database size and the hosting setup used can impact performance, depending on the hardware resources available, particularly when searching records and retrieving information. Whilst I will miss having an order history for reference, I am lucky in that I still have the emails from past orders going back several years. On a more positive note, for anyone who is still missing pre-orders in your account, it is worth logging back in again and checking the pre-order tab. I have just logged in and discovered that a couple more of my missing pre-orders have appeared. There is still one hiding and thus I'll check back later on. The transfer is clearly still a WIP.
  20. Thanks for letting us know @GNR Dave The search functionality has greatly improved with the new website and returns far more accurate results. I also find that the website is much more responsive, although I wouldn't say the old one was particularly slow. The new one is much better on mobile devices too, based on my use of it thus far.
  21. Further to @GNR Dave I have just received an email from Rails regarding the new website. I have noticed that on pre-orders (with multiple items in an order) only one item is shown. I.e. You can't open an order to view the details.
  22. @JimHearne There was a post on Rails' official Facebook page yesterday evening which stated the following: I received an email from Rails this morning titled 'Customer account activation' and all I needed to do was enter a new password on the website. I encountered the same as @PeterStiles and @GNR Dave A couple of my outstanding pre-orders are missing (one of which I'd paid a deposit) and my order history from the old website is absent. I also needed to add my address as there was nothing there. I like the look of the new website though and as someone who comes from an IT/Retail background, a few gremlins are not unexpected.
