    1. MarshLane

      MarshLane

Your not suppose to be building the entire fleet of 200 you know!

  2. Hi Phil, That looks a superb job on Druid, just need to wait for some sun to phot her now Are the sounds those that you recorded at ELR last year? Just out of interest, how much does the loco weigh? Cheers Lee
  3. I think there must only be 2 people on the planet that haven't ordered one then.... me and you!! Superb weathering on the locos Peter. The last pic I had a double take as I thought you were posting pics of the real thing!!!
  4. You have a funny idea of 'easy'!!! I reckon the gaffer tape will outlast the rest of the chair Cheers Lee
  5. Yes there seems to be a bit of 08 euphoria at the moment. But at least producing these at a reasonable price means more people will get into O gauge I suppose..... I digress.... Ewwwwwww Now you're talking, a big BR Blue diesel... go on... it's the future
  6. Hi Rod, PH Designs sells that: http://www.phd-design-etchings.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=25_35_68&product_id=141 Cheers Lee
  7. Some great progress Phil. The nose of 815 is just superb... it looks so right!!! Is this lot your winter 'project'? ... just in time for the next bout of spring railway phots in the sun??? Cheers Lee
  8. Hi Peter, It's a shame you weren't one day later as you would have witnessed one very, very loud loco on an ECS - Carnforth to Bury!! Cheers Lee
  9. Hi Rod, I thought that 'really was like the real thing'? Did you try adding any weight to the locos before adding another power bogie per chance to see what they would pull? That is a very nice looking 25 and I'm pleased to see you adding oddities like strange headcodes too.... something out of the norm makes for a much more interesting railway. Cheers Lee
  10. Ooooo, Nice work Phil. You're making some great progress on 815 and any day now she's going to look superb in the finished coat with plates and numbers!!! Hmmm... not sure where this flat fronted rat thingy is going... but perhaps folk might look at the first 50 Darlington builds Keep up the good workl, it's great to pop by and see some superb modelling. Pity the summer is coming to an end and hence the great pics you put on here for a while. Cheers Lee
  11. Phew... thankgoodness for that!! I was beginning to think you'd gone all 'steamy' on us!!!! Mind you..... that diesel is the wrong era colour!!!! Sorry, I should learn to be more open minded Cheers Lee
  12. Hi Brian, It was nice to chat with you at Telford. I must say that tractor looks very good, albeit a bit clean Cheers Lee
  13. Building a ZZA Snowplough

    2. Phil Mc

      Phil Mc

A long time ago, I built a Hurst models kit into 'Snow King', still got the kit to do 'Snow Queen' somewhere!!

  14. Hi Spenc, The layout is looking really good. Lot's of improvements.. and constantly it seems Only one comment.... that tractor could do with a bit of muck on it Cheers Lee
  15. Brian, That looks superb!! Are the ETH connectors the JLTRT ones? Cheers Lee
  16. Hi Lee, Looks like you're going to be rather busy!! With the cl 37 re-builds... I take it you will add the Shawplan roof grill etches?? but do you file back the roof to fit the etch panel provided? Cheers Lee (Still patiently waiting for my Shawplan etches too )
  17. Hi Phil, Great photos... it seems I did not manage to meet you after all on Sunday Cheers Lee
  18. Simon, Dallam is looking absolutely superb. I guess with n gauge you can really create a feeling of space around the railway and making the railways part of the surrounding land rather then just a few tracks with some scenery thrown in for good measure. Totally stunning work. Thanks for sharing and I do hope to see Dallam at a show. Cheers Lee
  19. Ah ok, now I understand. I was beginning to think that maybe no individual manufacturer had nailed the definitive Hymek. I can understand why you do what you do now. I'm amazed the locos are so light with all those batteries in them. I guess they do not suffer from traction problems as I've seen pics on your thread of large rakes of stock being towed. It's an interesting concept that Randy has proposed and you're obviously using and developing his ideas for your locos. I guess having quite a collection of video/ sound samples available is a massive bonus. Something I do not have for my 40's. It does seem that he has other great ideas too, not just about sound!! Keep posting the Hydraulics in the garden pics as they are just superb, I never tire of them at all. Hope to see you Sunday on 832. Cheers Lee
  20. Hi Phil, Yet another great photo and that really is a great model of the Hymek. Why do you have such a mix of parts to make up one loco? With all that 'stuff' inside your locos you are never going to be short of weight and therefore traction. Your locos must weight an tonne!! I am becoming quite intrigued by the bluetooth sound, do you have to have your own sound files to use that system? Cheers Lee
  21. Thankfully they're not all bad Peter, keep going with the pics as it's always great to Llanbourne and the locos!! Cheers Lee
  22. I thought you would chat to him quite a bit...... Well when you next speak to him will you tell him that I'm trying to get in touch with him for 3 three class 37/ 40 roof grills too please (I have sent him an email... and called on numerous occasions). I know he's always busy and he does get back to people but hey if you can speed the process up that would be great. I have two 40's needing grills!!! With regards building the Shawplan etch, I have soldered the fan, I just coat each part first with solder, chuck it all together (making sure that at least one of the fan blades is twisted into position, then apply soldering iron and wait As for the grill, I have used solder paste... only a small amount around the retaining hoop underside. A bit of flux on the grill itself and (providing you bend the two items over a Railmatch bottle first) the assembly solders quite nicely. I can see the benefit of using cyano though. Cheers Lee
  23. Hi Lee, The Shawplan grill looks superb, how did you join it all together solder or superglue?? The result, which ever way, is outstanding!! Do you chat with Brian at Shawplan much??? Cheers Lee
