  1. Oooo Peter, just like the real thing!
  2. Hi Peter, It's nice to see the 40's getting plenty of use on Llanbourne They are really nice models, particularly how you have made each one a replica of the real things, some superb detailing. I'm surprised no-one has produced smaller MU jumper units (on the side of the bogies). Have you ever thought of flush glazing them?.... does such a thing exist for the 4mm 40's? Cheers Lee
  3. Hi Lee, Great work as always. Those headlights look superb and really set the loco off nicely but there's an awful lot of wiring inside one of those locos... almost as much as the real thing!! What is with the odd number font on 081? I can't recall seeing those before, they look very square. Keep posting with updates as it's always great to see your work/ projects..... still patiently waiting for your JLTRT 37111 too Cheers Lee
  4. Hi Simon, It would seem you are really motoring along with Dallam now. What a difference having some green down makes and adding those OLE masts brings the place to life. Superb, keep going and please don't stop providing us with the updates too Cheers Lee
  5. Hi Phill, Thanks for that link. I had looked briefly at that system as a possibility before, but I gave it a second read and, well to be honest, the jury is still out. It does seem a much cheaper alternative so I guess I should think about it a little further as to the pro's and cons. Out of interest, what was it that made you do R/C on your outdoor railway? Cheers Lee
  6. At the moment Phil, they are DC. But I intend to get them DCC with sound Good, will catch up with you nearer the date to meet up
  7. Well let me know when you have track power as I'd love to bring 40118 and hopefully 060 down for a spin Yes, the pics were at the gala last weekend. I'm not normally a big fan of gala's as I prefer the running days but with 3 class 40's out it seemed too good to miss. I shall be going to ELR for the 842 running days too so perhaps we could meet up for a chat and a cuppa?? Cheers Lee
  8. Is it by invite? Oh yes, here's one of the real thing for you Phill: Cheers Lee
  9. Oh my goodness Phill, that is one superb photo!!! One that re-kindles so many good memories of HM. I shall keep my eyes peeled for the Merry Maker
  10. Phil, I really love the photo of the Hymek on the 3 mineral wagons and brake. What really helps the scene is the small leaf size of your plants that run adjacent to you railway. Such a shame there has never been a class 40 along the Withercombe line!!! Please keep posting these great outdoor pics of your locos and stock. Cheers Lee
  11. I will get the photo on Saturday as 7076 is not running tomorrow That bogie does look rather heavy, I don't think you will have traction problems with this loco
  12. Hi Phil, That Hymek looks great on the viaduct. Did you cast the pillars for the viaduct in concrete? Cheers Lee
  13. Hi Grumps, That is looking superb Oh yes, I tried the cyano-type adhesive that is for good for glazing.... no frosting at all and it sticks in seconds, dried clear!!! Result!! Cheers Lee
  14. If you get a reply I would be interested in it too as I have one of these to build as well. Cheers Lee
  15. Hi Grumps, That all looks rather nice. As you say, the initial fit of the cab to body/ roof looks good but if it's anything like I've built before you need to make sure the bulkheads are fixed in first (after they've been painted of course). That does, for some reason, seem to make a difference to the cab/ body fit. I wonder why JLTRT has made the body fixed to the frame?... how do you get inside to fit/ repair motors or decoders once built? (hopefully Brian will be along any time now to set me right!! ) Cheers Lee
  16. Hi CME, If you look back here: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/38539-ranelagh-bridge-west-london-stabling-point/?p=2310514 Hopefully that should take you to post #1225 where Steve take's you through a blow by blow account. HTH Cheers Lee
  17. You should make a thread in the layouts section. The blogs are quite difficult to follow and you would have a lot of interest via that section.
  18. Another superb update from a great model railway. If I had one tiny suggestion (if I may), I would try to turn down the intensity of the loco lights as they appear very bright. Bashing the WHL in the 80's was great..... I must have passed you at some point Cheers Lee
  19. Superb!!! Don't forget to add the steam heat pipe on 20045 when you add the buffer beam details.... but I'm sure you knew that Cheers Lee
  20. A great collection of locos.... and the ones I remember that frequented the line. Keep going with this blog.... loving your work!! Cheers Lee
  21. Some superb modelling and a great area to base a layout on. Do you run an ETHEL in with your xb fleet of tractors to replicate the Euston - Fort William train? One of my favourite highland tractors too... 191 Cheers Lee
  22. Hi Peter, Let me know if you're free for a trip along ELR then. Keep your eyes peeled here: http://www.elrdiesel.info/locomotive-roster.php Cheers Lee
