    class 33

Yes, but did we ever get a definition of what ''released'' means? Don't get too excited just yet! The launches section of Dapol's website shows the 33s ''awaiting production'' and the release date as July.
  2. There's quite a good pic of the weathered interiors of Mermaids in the marshalling yard article in the June 'Model Rail'.
  3. Just hoping these will be shrunk for N-gauge. I note the original Farish interpretation has been dropped from the latest catalogue. Come on Mr Bachmann--you know it makes sense!
  4. Today's update still shows the 'squiggles' against 80027 and 80119. Some info from 'on high' would be nice. Hopefully they've not gone back to China like the A2s!

    Dapol HST

Thanks for that PC; some definite examples there of the buffet end next to standard class--as I would have thought logical. Luckily us modellers don't really have to worry too much which way round our sets are.

    Dapol HST

Hi PC Yes that does help--thanks. Recent observations at Kings Cross have confirmed that the buffet end is next to first class on HSTs; this same arrangement also applies to the Class 91/Mark 4 sets.

    Dapol HST

Expert help needed please! I'm always in doubt about the correct orientation of the buffet coach in an HST rake. My era is blue/grey. Should the buffet section be next to the first or standard class? TIA.
  8. 80119 now Apr/May; 80027 now Jun/Jul.

    Dapol Britannia

Yes I like those Rick--will be in for them I think. Are the headlamps the Dapol ones sold with the fireirons? Much closer to scale than the Springside type.

I asked Joel about the orange cantrail stripe on the blue 33; he said this would be removed for the production models. Hooray! It's easier to add than to remove.
  11. Like 55003 Meld in FP blue (as hinted several times before!) Also more early TTA liveries such as Mobil would be welcome.
  12. A few more thoughts on close-coupling Farish sleepers with Dapol short NEMCOUPS-- I've found using a Dapol short MAGNETIC coupler on a buffet car within the rake to be beneficial in negotiating Peco small radius points. This also applies to sleepers next to the Nightcap Bar fitted with buckeyes.

    Ask Dave

Hi Dave Now the Bachmann/Farish cats are out of the bag, any chance of more much-needed wagons from DJM? I'm hinting not very subtly at the PGA 4-wheel hoppers and the JUA iron-ore/aggregate bogie tipplers, both of which would be required in considerable quantities; both long-lived types and lots of liveries might make these a worthwhile project.
  14. Surprised no Stanier full brake in BR blue--long overdue. No Finsbury Park Deltic either--Meld the most sensible (short nameplate easily changed). Please add these to your list Mr Bachmann--now!
  15. You shouldn't give up on the Sleepers. From my experience they're extremely tolerant coaches that will run through curves and junctions without problems. Mine are fitted with Dapol short NEMCOUPS both ends which seem less prone to separate than rapidos if heights differ a bit. I would take every bogie off and check it for free running before replacing on the coach. You could replace the couplings when the bogies are off as it's easier this way. Good luck!
  16. 4MT 2-6-4T 80119 now a month earlier as Mar/Apr whereas 80027 now later as June/July (site updated today) .
  17. The Revolution TEA is a model of a prototype of fairly recent construction; what acg5324 means is the 60/70s version that the Poole one is based on. A new one is a must--as is the PGA hopper (loads of liveries, hauled by many locos etc etc; a lots of modellers would buy lots, as they ran/run in block trains. I also reckon the PTA/JUA aggregate/iron-ore tipplers (how about scale rotary couplings?!!!) would sell well for the same reason. I know kits are available from TPM, but RTR quality is what is required today (IMHO). I also agree with acg on the Carflat and the ferry van (assume he means the VIX).
  18. Ian Allan's at Waterloo has an extensive range of model paints and Expo tools too. The best in London in my view.
  19. Just found these dates under the Bachmann heading;-- Hornby 29 February Bachmann 1March (''lunchtime'').
  20. More slippage! Standard 4MT tanks now Apr/May; trust this means 2016!
  21. N-gauge junk? That's a bit strong isn't it? Pity there's not a disagree button on here.
  22. Didn't know about the HUO wagon--that's a bonus!
