  1. Further catalogue checks show that the BR wooden 13t opens have gone--though they may have gone before. Hopefully a fitted version will be produced in future--a much-needed vehicle to add variety to freights. The Class 14 has gone too.
  2. Just hope the HAAs are ready for Heaton Lodge at Warley in 2018!
  3. Further catalogue scrutiny has revealed that the Presflos and LMS/LMR brake vans have gone too.
  4. Noted in the new Farish 2017 catalogue that the Standard 5 4-6-0 is completely dropped and that green SYP versions of Classes 31 and 55 no longer feature.

    Dapol 08

    Although I'm an N modeller, I did admire a couple of Dapol 08s at the Stevenage Show yesterday. Well done Dapol.
  6. Maybe we should close this thread now and use ''Farish announce C Class....'' for comments on the new releases or the lack of them? Perhaps we should start one for 2018 Frothers and title it ''Bachmann to Read Please''!
  7. An 8F at last! Yippee! And a C--most welcome. Did I see a split-box 40 somewhere on the list too? New TEAs at last too--hopefully some older liveries will follow.
  8. Set your alarms for 1000 tomorrow on here!
  9. Looking very nice but I assume they're not suitable for Yeoman or ARC liveries; I really hope for these as there's quite a variety of 60s/70s haulage that could take them . N-gauge please.
  10. We can continue to froth on here till Sunday 8 Jan 2017, ( info from N-gauge Yahoo Group) when Bachmann make their announcements. Now where's that Finsbury Park racehorse Mr B?
  11. Yes, some ferry vans would be great; saw some (I think) Interfrigo and STEF continental vans on James Street at Romford last week --and some hand-built VIXs ; they made up nice interesting train.
  12. I think you'll find that Dapol are doing their 86 in electric blue--have a look at the Digest. Hopefully a new Peak will follow on from the 40--it seems a logical development. Definitely agree on the Skinhead 31.
  13. Rather pleased (chuffed?) that I started this thread and that it hasn't yet been clobbered! It seems to have been quite successful and shows there's still enthusiasm for new N-gauge stuff. It also makes it worth clicking on to ' Farish' as there's not much going on at the moment on here. I just hope Mr Bachmann reads it and takes notice! Would they like to comment?
  14. Congrats on your efforts Dave; I'm looking forward to the Sharks too, hopefully fairly soon after the Mermaids.
  15. I saw no mention of the V2 2-6-2 in the poll for N gauge, so didn't get a chance to vote for it. I'm fairly sure an updated one from Farish would be much in demand.
  16. There's a thread somewhere about correcting the ride height; could be on here or on N Gauge Forum. I've done this with washers bought on eBay; it does make the mark 2s sit up a bit though.
  17. Particularly agree with the PTA/JUA; you can't just buy one of these so it should be a big seller. Rotary couplings too?
  18. Can anyone find the proper Precision Paints website? I find it a bit hit and miss relying on exhibition purchases--I couldn't find Frame Dirt at Peterborough on Saturday. OK I'll have to pay courier's charges but surely they're not too bad.
  19. We seem to be getting away with frothing so far without Andy's clunking great fist coming down on us! Some good suggestions so far--keep it up. I particularly like Tim H's one for a Mark 1 FK to go with the Carflats.
  20. Now Dapol's crimson and cream Maunsells are common knowledge, can we hope that Bachmann will do the Hawksworths in maroon fairly soon?
  21. Excellent news about the crimson and cream Maunsells (on pre-order from Hatton's); didn't know they were on the cards.

    class 33

    Yes I've noticed it too but hadn't got round to digging out my book of loco drawings before going into print on here. None of the mag reviews seem to have picked it up though, which I find staggering. If it is indeed the case that the exhaust port is missing, can we use this thread to discuss how to rectify it? I also think the lack of headcodes is an issue too, but maybe they were omitted for a good reason; has anyone found a source of 33 codes and fitted them? Just seen that both aspects are covered on the N-Gauge Forum; Railtec transfers are recommended.

    class 33

    Regarding overhead wire warning flashes, a study of 'Rail Portfolios no. 6, The Cromptons', shows it is highly likely these weren't fitted to 33s until May 1981, when they started on the Crewe-Cardiff route. This is surprising, as they definitely worked over OHLE routes, e.g. to Ripple Lane, the LTS route being electrified as early as 1961. Perhaps this is indicative of the Southern's somewhat cavalier attitude to H&S, as there were still examples of 33s without yellow warning panels as late as October 1966!

    class 33

    Well pleased with my D6571 and 33030 which arrived yesterday; yes a route code will be needed to complete that Southern look and the LED is too bright but it's a great model and runs well. Great stuff Dapol!
