  1. Just a thought--wouldn't 92s have looked great in BR Rail Blue? (takes cover rapidly)

Had an e-mail from Hattons today--the NYP green 33 expected there next week.
  3. Castles now Feb/Mar (20 Sept).
  4. Thanks to Andy York for pointing out it's got scale-width bogies; now when are Farish going to announce the obvious follow-on, i.e. a new Peak? in the new year hopefully!
  5. TTAs also ran behind 9Fs, so there's going to be a good choice of wagons to go with them.
  6. A previous correspondent has correctly pointed out that the only first class blue/grey Mark 1 in the current Farish catalogue (apart from the sleeper) is the CK. Luckily I've already got a BCK and an FK from earlier years. Hopefully Farish can be 'nudged' to produce further FKs and maybe a BFK to help assembly of a proper Motorail train.
  7. Hi Ben and Mike. I would think there'd be quite a demand for older (60s/70s) TEAs; it doesn't seem likely that a new Farish version is imminent. Maybe this would be quite an easy project if ATM/NGS bogies were used? Food for thought.

Osborn's are very good at advising when new models have arrived on the N-gauge Yahoo Group; they beat Hatton's to it with the 64XX.
  9. Thanks Andy. This is a job I always put off, but it's not that bad if you're in the right frame of mind and have the right materials at hand. I've found a pic of 6430 pulling 2 autocoaches in 1964 at Yeovil, clearly showing the pipe. It's in 'The Western since 1948' (Ian Allan). Job done, using Araldite (I know it's overkill but it's not stringy and very controllable), a pair of no. 7 tweezers, a matchstick (for mixing the glue), a pin (to apply the glue to the fixing holes), some IPA (a good solvent for wet Araldite) and a bright light. I fitted the coupling hook as supplied to the loco front , as I'm not using a front coupling, but cut off the dummy coupling for the back hook as I'll fit a short Nemcoup later.
  10. 6417 arrived the other day and I'm wondering whether to fit the front vacuum pipe. I don't envisage running a ''sandwich'' of autocoaches but just the one, with the loco heading chimney-first. Does anyone have any prototype photos to check this out? TIA.
  11. I seem to remember the empty (not Motorail) workings to Dagenham had the chocks scattered around the deck where the unloaders had left them.
  12. Can anyone advise me when B4 bogies would have been fitted to the Motorail carflats? TIA.
  13. Just a thought on the Carflats; Oxford's OO model is to feature chocks, which presumably will help to fix the vehicles on board. Whether these will be practical for N is debatable, but they'd look rather good if made to scale.
  14. Agreed a great choice Ben; I couldn't find the link to pre-order so maybe you could advise. TIA.
  15. And some 60s/70s Transit vans please Oxford Diecast.
  16. No problems with my Shrewsbury and Repton.
  17. Site from 1 July shows 80119 now Sep/Oct; that makes a change from the usual delays.
  18. Just heard that 'Repton' is on its way from Hatton's.
  19. My 'Shrewsbury' has arrived intact--it looks great and I look forward to 'Repton' in due course. The large-diameter chimney does rather highlight the solid nature of the moulding here though--who's going to first to drill it out?
  20. A new update today--80027 still Aug/Sep but 80119 now Oct/Nov--that's my Xmas sorted out!
  21. Wow they do look good--hopefully the long wait will be worth it.
  22. I think for HAAs it's up to 36 for a 56, depending on loading/unloading facilities and route.
  23. Is that all? Only joking Dave! Best wishes for the success you deserve with this one.
