It would seem £19.50 for one bottle is actually a discount on the going prices! Just checked the "completed listings" page and there are 5 bottles that sold for between £21.45 and £26.00. Wish I'd realized this a year ago - could have stocked up and made a killing!
  2. ... with a nice picture of a Bulleid West Country crossing it, I seem to remember...

And that was made clear to them a couple of times on 29th September in the Q&A section, yet they've still not changed the description ...

If you repeat the search with "completed listings" then a lot of these have been sold for between £40-60. And some fool has actually bought one for £200! Will they keep till next Xmas if they don't sell this time round?

What a mess! Three brake vans? As they're MK1 coaches it looks like a cross between original and refurbished 4-CEPs - and with Nelson ends!

You have a choice of Wrenn Standard 4MT locos. This one at a "buy-it-now" for £500 ... Tank 1 Or you can bid on this one - 0.99p and no takers yet. At least it has its instructions which you don't get for the £500 version. And if it has been repainted, as the seller says, it's been extremely well done! tank 2 The seller of the first uses descriptions with flashing titles which I find extremely irritating.
  7. Thanks again - that's what I needed to know. Just need to check now whether the signals are OK for 15V instead of 12V, but they have resistors so I assume that would be fine.
  8. OK thanks for that. I haven't bought the decoders yet - just wanting to find out if they have the correct spec before I part with my cash.
  9. I'm looking to use a couple of R8247 accessory decoders to operate some colour light signals - a mixture of Berko and Traintronics. I understand the outputs of the R8247 can be set to continuous but is the output 12V DC? I can't find the R8247 documentation anywhere on the web. Also, am I correct in assuming that these boxes are NMRA-compliant and hence will work with my Lenz LH100/LZV100 system? Thanks

Good grief - someone's actually bought it! Only 99p so far but add on £3.50 postage? Just goes to show you can sell anything on Ebay!
  11. I too get most of mine from North Wales Models, via their Ebay shop. Big plus point is that their postage charges are reasonable even if you only want one packet of 4.
  12. The Kadee couplings for NEM pockets are #17, #18, #19 and #20. #21 requires a draft box and not an NEM pocket. I've found that #18, #19 and #20 are best for my layout which has 3' radius curves. Not found a use for #17s yet. Best thing to do would be to buy one packet of each and try out on your stock to see what fits best.

There's a lot of stuff there! Drip-fed back on to Ebay as individual items the buyer could make a profit. There's more than one idiot buyer - sorry, discerning purchaser - after this stuff.

Or a very strong wind for this one - £245 for a bog-standard Hornby Merchant Navy? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hornby-No-R2204-BR-Class-MN-4-6-2-BIBBY-LINE-MIB-/310205742760?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item4839b3fea8 I know of one retailer (RRR Models) who still have this in stock, albeit for £135.

I thought the guy wanting £40,000 for a 2008 undated coin was silly enough, but this guy's on a different planet .... 20p Coin At least it's free express delivery! You would have thought he would have searched Ebay for "20p undated coin" to see just how "exceptionally rare" it really isn't. But then there's this one that sold??? I doubt it - but read his description - it's hilarious! 20p coin sold

I've just bid 99p for this example - a great saving on the £40k buy-it-now price of the other seller! Undated 20p coin

He has 91 items listed, all at pretty steep prices it would seem to me. And to others also as the total number of bids is 0....

Probably not - it's the way Royal Mail charge for special delivery: it's £9.50 for up to 2kg, but anything over that (up to 10kg max) is charged at a flat rate of £22.50. Special delivery is not really meant for really heavy items: standard parcels would be my preferred option, or another courier.

That's made me go and check all the coins in my pocket. You never know ...

Ah yes, my mistake. Hadn't realized ACE trains RTR model locos are about the same price as DJH kits.....

But then this item is probably good value: a mint, O gauge Schools for £975? Schools Loco Perhaps it's not so rare then! But still £37.50 for shipping!

Must dig out all my empty boxes - seems they're worth a small fortune! It's amazing how many hits come up when you search Ebay for "empty box"! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170523056011&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Except that the 33s never carried two-tone green, so true purists won't (or shouldn't) be interested!
