  4. Having a 'Dark and Stormy' (Bermuda black rum & ginger beer) to combat man flu! :-)

  5. Things Can Only Get Better - Howard Jones
  6. Thanksgiving turkey ready in half an hour............god, I'm hungry!

  7. What did you buy GarryD100?

  8. Very nice looking layout! Great detail and not too 'busy' The black 08 looks excellent, I have one in green that I'd like to backdate when I improve my skills!
  9. Got taken out by a car when on my motorbike this afternoon. NOT HAPPY! Bike's probably a write off!

Thanks St. Simon. Could have been worse< I'll have to put up with a few days of pampering from my girlfriend. :)

  10. Thanks for the updates Mucky Duck, I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished loco. Certainly inspiring me to have a go at my 8F. Mark. (watching with drooling anticipation).
  11. I'm looking forward to see how this goes. I have a Hornby 8F that I would like to improve, even if it's just replacing the front pony truck! (I think that is the item that drives me nuts the most). I do like the look of the Brassmasters detailing kit, I just have to work up the courage to get the knife out. As you point out seeing someone else do it to help you get on with it!! I can't wait to see some more pictures, I can feel the itch already. Cheers. Mark.
  12. Found snow on my car this morning. NOT funny!

  13. Interesting thread. The original railfreight livery looks good on the class 70, hides all the warts! The class 60...... :icon_thumbsup2: More please, guys.
  14. Many, many thanks for that, Dave. I'll try and give them a call early Monday morning. I really shouldn't be spending $300+ so soon after Christmas, but...............
  15. Maybe I'm being thick, but how did other overseas members aquire their models? I went to the NRM shop but got the message that they don't ship outside the UK (including the Channel Islands!) It really does look like a nice model. Mark.
  16. Thanks for all the additional information. That VCT site will keep me busy for a while. I hope to be in the UK for a little while next year and now I think I have a bit more to squeeze in trying to see some of these buffet cars!
  17. Thanks for posting that link Phill. The buffet car looks in better shape than the 31! I just found this thread and I have an interest in buffet/restaurant/kitchen cars. I wondered if anyone knew if any of these Gresley cars were preserved? The blue/Grey livery really doesn't suit it IMO. Cheers. Mark.
