If no-one is visiting these shops as several have reported, then simple logic dictates it is more than London rents that is crucifying them.

Adelaide's metro network remains at 5'3". Any plans for standardisation are currently on ice. It may happen one day in the future, it may not.

Not exclusive to Dapol but endemic throughout the model rail industry at the moment - check out the whingeing on some of the US model rail sites.

Some hilarious stuff on here. Obviously we have one or two candidates for Dave's job making their public pitch for the position. They do seem to have ALL the answers.

QUBE do indeed own IRA. QUBE's colours however are yellow and silver/grey

Some video (not mine) taken yesterday. In preparation for the National Railway Museum's (Port Adelaide) "Railway Yard Sale" event, a large shunt had to take place on the 15th of June 2013. The shunt involved the clearing a road of Narrow Gauge (3'6") items, using standard gauge (4' 8 1/2") diesel loco, English-Electric powered no.515. The track is actually triple gauge. One of the shunt movements involved coupling together Ex-South Australian Railways (SAR) Garratt 402 with Ex-SAR T Class 253, a regular occurrence with the SAR and yet, has never been done at the museum.

Hattons Model Railways of Widnes (formerly Liverpool).
bingley hall replied to tractor_37260's topic in Model Shop Guide
Why the need to capitalise 'never'? I FREQUENTLY use Hattons and have done so since 1968. Just saying. -
I wonder if its the same camp I went to in Guernsey during August 1967? My first ever mainline train journey was behind a Class 47 on the Channel Islands Boat Express in Bullied stock. Still numerous dumped steam locos to be seen at sheds along the way and Hymeks at Weymouth. Haulage of the branch from memory was by a Class 03 shunter.

A few pics taken last weekend of operations around Whyalla and Port Augusta, South Australia. Two Pacific National GE-powered NR class locos climb away from Yorkeys Crossing near Port Augusta with train 5MP7 bound for Perth on Friday evening 8 Feb 2013. About 25 minutes later two of Aurizon's GE-powered 6020 class at the same location with 5MP1 service for Perth. The following day, again in roughly the same locality, two of Genesee & Wyoming Australia's (GWA) EMD-powered GWA class lead train no.9612 loaded iron ore from Wirrida to Port Augusta where the train will reverse and head to Whyalla. A further two GWAs are attached to the rear of the train as distributed power. At the recently re-activated mine at Iron Baron on the 3'6" tramway network radiating from Whyalla, an export iron ore train headed by GWA locomotives 1907/CK3 is being loaded by front end loader (out of sight) on Saturday morning 9 Feb 2013. The following day, the same loco combination heads a loaded train from the Iron Knight mine back to Whyalla. Early Sunday morning on 9 Feb 2013 and GWA locos 1301/901/904 and a rake of empties depart for the mine at Iron Baron. Back in Whyalla that evening the same combo propels its train back towards the unloading pit.
