Have just been told that our N gauge tramway layout SIEGE STREET will also be running at our open day. That's five working layouts in total!

Twickenham MRC builds large OO gauge SR (3rd rail) layout
TEAMYAKIMA replied to TEAMYAKIMA's topic in Southern Electrics
Not long to Twickenham MRC's open day now! Come and see Twickenham Junction in action in the flesh. July 21st (10am to 4pm) Kerswell Hall, Wills Crescent, Hounslow TW3 2JF For full details see www.tdmrc.org.uk Hope to see some of you there! -
Peter, Thanks for your interest, but you have slightly misunderstood. Bachmann China originally produced some of their US freight stock in Chinese liveries - they were fake and generally pretty awful , but of all of them the coal hoppers weren't too bad and I have about 25 of them . I would like 2/3 more of these specific Bachmann Chinese liveried hoppers..... as seen in this photo behind the double-headed steamers...

BRM July '18 + DVD, BIGGEST-EVER DIGITAL EDITION
TEAMYAKIMA replied to Howard Smith's topic in BRM Magazine
Some of you (hopefully many of you!) might want to see Twickenham & District MRC's 7mm layout ADDISON ROAD in the flesh....... Well, it will have a static display at Twickenham & District MRC's Open Day on July 21st, unfortunately there's no room this year to have it up and running, the Grant and the team will be there and will be happy to meet you. BTW - the reason that I emphasise the 'Twickenham & District' bit is that one of the active Addison Road members lives in Chicago - you can't get more '& District' than that! Joking apart, with the layout 99% built, the team's attention has turned to exhibitions and the present Addison Road group is very small and it welcomes new members to bolster the operating team - even if you live abroad! So why not come down on July 21st and meet the team? New members very welcome! -
There was some concern that the lights were a little overscale - too tall - and so I have built up the land to reduce their apparent height and to raise the hut in comparison so the lights look shorter. The electronics have now been installed and so the barriers go up and down and the lights then either show one single green light or two flashing red ones. Next is to wire in the IRDOT units so it all works automatically.

Twickenham MRC's Addison Road (Kensington Olympia) in 7mm
TEAMYAKIMA replied to TEAMYAKIMA's topic in Layout topics
Apologies for lack of postings lately, but today we bring you BIG news - we're in the latest edition of BRM. Yes, that's right - fame at last! See Tony Wright's fantastic photos and read Grant's great article in the latest BRM! BTW - it's a two parter - more next month! -
Have just found some photos of BATTY MOOR our existing N gauge exhibition layout which will be running at our July 21st Open Day. This is a relatively rare running session for Batty Moor as we are busy building baseboards for a new N GAUGE layout. Why not join us and get involved with our new layout from the ground up?

A very quick update on Twickenham & District MRC's Open Day. It has now been confirmed that our well known N gauge exhibition layout 'BATTY MOOR' will be making a rare appearance - we will be posting more photos later, but here is a small taster. BTW the reason that Batty Moor hasn't had many operating sessions lately is that the group have started work on a brand new layout - come and meet the team and get involved in our new layout from the ground upwards!

There was Paul & Stefan - which was the fast one?

I agree with you to a great extent ... I had just hoped that no-one would notice this anomaly. I think the VW passat was built in China and I think Herpa or Busch made one - back in the day! I started a thread on RMweb to source these but got no luck. The trouble is that I would want 5-8 of them and any collector would only probably have one or two. The thread is here .... http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/121141-wanted-wiking-ho-vw-passat-1980s-style/?hl=passat Needless to say that as a non-driver a lot of this went over my head!

BUHLER MOTORS - HELP WANTED TO INDENTIFY THEM PLEASE
TEAMYAKIMA replied to TEAMYAKIMA's topic in Motors & Drive Systems
Many thanks, very helpful. Have sent them in email. Paul -
Hi I have been tasked to sell some old BUHLER motors which have been donated to Twickenham MRC. They were donated by the widow of a member but she/we have no knowledge of these other than her husband had planned to use them in a Gauge O model. We know nothing - can anyone give us the catalogue number? On an easier note , are we correct in thinking these are 12v DC? Thanks for any help

Open Day update! There will be three 'proper' OO layouts operating on the day and our well known 'Drive-A-Train' layout for our younger visitors. TWICKENHAM JUNCTION - our brand new continuous run exhibition layout! A fictional version of the old TWICKENHAM station as if it had not been 'modernised' after WW2. This will be its first public showing as a working layout. EASTGATE - our new privatisation era D&E layout NORTHWICK - our long established steam era exhibition layout which has been recently extended and refreshed. Plus - TWO working N layouts BATTY MOOR - our well established N layout which will soon be replaced by a completely NEW layout under construction. SIEGE STREET - our N gauge urban tramway layout will be making a rare appearance - don't miss it!

D&RGW On3 locos painted by Brian Coldicott for sale
TEAMYAKIMA replied to TEAMYAKIMA's topic in USA & Canadian Railroads
Hey guys! Don't let the BIN price put you off - make me an offer! Paul -
The next project for completion will be motorising and automating the crossing gates on the bi-directional line. It will need a very basic crossing keepers hut. Having searched high and low for a 3D printed one I have decided to kitbash one from my spares box. Her are some bits left over from a previous project ... Here is the first wall - it's still a work in progress - had to stop as I've run out of MEK !
